Yeah, they’re pretty nice. Knowing that they are all overseas made as a third sub to WE & CIVIVI , the Sencut “people” are definitely from the US… even though the knifes are not made over here. Quite a while back, I noticed a Texas theme, so the designers may be located in Texas.
Several models are named for towns or cities in Texas…including that Sachse (pronounced 'Sack-see')… after a city near Dallas.
The Brazoria, Waxahachie, San Angelo, Bronte, Tynan, Neches, Crowley and Watauga are more models named for cities in Texas.
Great video! I'm really liking the designs Sencut is putting out, but only handled a few last year at BladeShow. One thing I want to point out because I find it fascinating as a Texan... several of Sencut's knives share names with (if not named after) small Texas towns. This knife is actually spelled Sachse (like the town near Dallas) and the town name is pronounced sak-see.
San Angelo, Brazoria, Tynan, Bronte, Neches, Crowley, Watauga, Fritch, Mims, Waxahachie, and of course Sachse are all Texas towns.
Narrator: "the Sencut Sashe"
Me and at least one other person watching: "Shantay you stay?" 😂
Happy to see they still make flipper and thumb stud knives. I was considering replacing my old crkt cruiser with another one but they're out all over now. These look pretty neat and not too steep either. Excellent video
I recently just picked up a Sencut Waxahachie and am very impressed with the presentation and the blade itself. I'm happy with it and will probably be looking to pick up another sencut
I love my Sencut Sachse. I carry it more than my Manic 2 LW.
Sencut came out with a line of knives named after towns in Texas. I lived in a town 5 miles from Sachse. BTW it is pronounced - sackSEE.
I was gifted the Sachse last Christmas and after a quick tune-up, it runs fantastically. It ends up in my rotation very often. 👍🍻
The entire Sencut line should be absorbed and rebranded to Civivi. It doesn’t make sense for them to carry this third brand.
Sadly sencut is actually a bit "sus" due to too much quality control reports.
Lots of people complain about QC especially on button locks, like half of people report tragic lock on them. I thought it was just bad batch or something but no,different models different batches. I had 3 sencuts. I bought Honoris with damasuc blade, it had worst lock I ever saw. I could tap spine with my fingers and it would give up. And I seriously had to grind almost half of mm of metal to hit more than 30% on linear lock. Also blade it self even if look nice is just weirdly soft. Sencut still didn't response to my email about it. Then I bought Watauga that is button lock, I hate them as I dont trust them at all but I really liked those wooden scales and blade shape, and i didnt actually would use it(i just wanted it in my collection, don't judge me...) . End up not looking like on images at all, wood was badly made button stick to it often and color was more like orange not brown. And button lock? Sadly it was as people said in reviews, you can hit it with knife weight is self and it give up had to send it back. amazon refund it, sencut didn't bother to respond again. Then my friend give me Scepter. It was nice quality but again lock was like 10% and blade moved side to side even after I tighten it as much as I couls(plus some LT on screw) keeping opening smooth.
You can say that it's just 3 knifes and I should not put opinion on whole brand based on them as it could be bad luck or something. But lots of people complain about the same things... A bit weird to be just bad luck...
Damn...this sucks.
Great video. If you like the Sachse you might like the Serene it's similar to the Sachse but has an aluminum handle and a thinner blade and a full flat grind.
Love it!
Would love to see your take on the Sencut Acumen. I love the really wide drop point blade and havent been able to find that in any other knife.
My favorite edc knife right now is the San Angelo. So damn comfortable in the hand.
Love me well made ambidextrous tools
I bought a Watauga and am in love. It's a Zipphius at a tenth the price
I have to Sencut Sachse in brown Micarta and switch. The factory clip with a Titanium clip I let me tell you it is looks beautiful I've not seen the last of Civiv is Conspirator and Damascus and also switched up the factory clip for Titanium 🎉🎉😊😊 I really enjoy your reviews
If D2 steel is no issue, Sencut has some great options. Civivi has not impressed me one bit, I definitely feel like I am paying for looks with them. Everything they put out, Sencut seems to do better at a cheaper price.
I'm a bit underwhelmed by the prices offered by Sencut to be honest. Not that much of a difference between some of the budget Civivis. My Sachse came with weak detent (easy to fail on both thumbstud and flipper opening methods) and I did not return as I do like the overall look of the knife and the button lock function is solid (my first button lock folder and much of the reason why I got it; to try out button locks). The Waxahatchee looks neat, but not at the original price it was going for (if i see it sub-50, I may bite). Thanks for the review.
Where I live I can buy the Civivi mini Praxis for about 20 dollars less than this Sencut Sachse
I have quite big hands, which made me hesitate to buy the mini… Is this knife worth the extra 20 bucks since it has a button lock and thumb stud and the extra size?
hmm, imo. I'd get a Miguron.
Thank you for responding, sadly Miguron is not an option where I live, unless I spend 40+ dollars on shipping&duties
Appreciate the review! I really like a lot of Sencuts designs however I wish they would offer them without the flipper tabs and instead vary the deployment options.
Agreed
The Sachse is a near perfect model, and at $45ish dollars it's pretty much without equal (though CJRB are nipping at their heels with the various Pyrite and Ekko variants, plus some new models). Honestly, the only things I don't love about the Sasche is the clip (which is the same across Civivi and even some WE knives) and the non-captive pivot. According to Larrin Thomas's charts, 9cr18mov (which is the same formula as 440C) has exactly the same toughness and edge retention as the more revered 154CM (3.5 and 4.5 respectively) and has even better corrosion resistance (7.5 vs 7).
Get a miguron....they are actually unbeatable
@Maxlvledc I've handled some Migurons and they are excellent for their price point, but I'm not gonna pretend like a big part of the appeal of the knives I mentioned isn't the addictive fidgitability of a button lock. Here's Hoping Miguron comes out with one.
What's a good fixed blade to carry for a guy on a budget?
Hmm, schrade adder at $12 in AUS10 is hard to beat.... the eldris from mora... basically anything from mora. I really like the cold steel spike series funny enough lol.
Bsp knives
@Maxlvledc thanks brother. I'll check em out.
@@DickOswald thanks man
Here in the UK can get a button lock Elementum with Nitro-V for £8 more than this Sashe
Dammnnn then get the elementum 2 then
Score the Sencut Tynan...
I talked to a WE rep. They said Civivi and Sencut were on par quality wise, materials.
The knife is named after a city in Texas, and it's pronounced "sack-see".
A bunch of the Sencut knifes are named after Texan cities. They should've picked ones that were easier to pronounce.
A Biden ad asking for donations before your video! WTF? I felt the urge to say something before I watched this video because I think it's attached to the wrong You tuber! now, on with the show!
Really? OI, I don't care who it is..political adds are the suck.
It'll be okay Jerry 🤣
A year late, but it's pronounced sock-see. Thank you for the review.
Water is wet. Just an idea for your next video. The sky is blue would also be a good one. Just keep making videos about common knowledge man. Things people already know is the future.
