- How to get your Descale light to go out. How to turn off Descale Light Walmart Keurig K-Express Essentials . I show you how to clean/descale your Walmart Keurig K-Express Essentials Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker. I show you the descaling procedure right out of the quick start guide from Keurig. How to turn off your descale light. This Keurig has a descaling mode you have to put the machine in and complete it step by step in order for the descale light to go out. I show you how much distilled white vinegar to use and how much water. What the ratio is 1 to 1. I show you how to do the water rinse to complete the descale mode. How to get descale notification to go off. Your coffee maker will turn on the descale light after 250 brews. I show you how to activate the descale mode by pressing the 6oz button and the 10oz button with the power button off. How to fix when the add water light will not go out during descale. The descale mode has a glitch or fault. When you are done running the descale agent throughout the coffee maker you then refill the water reservoir with fresh water then the add water light should go out. It goes out and then comes right back on. I show you how to fix this by removing about 1/2 the water out of the reservoir and reinstall the water reservoir and the light should go out. Then fill up the reservoir with water to finish the descale procedure.

This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.
After following the instructions on the Descale solution bottle exactly, including waiting 30 minutes and at least 12 rinses, my descale light came back on and would not go off. After several Google searches, I came across your video and followed all instructions using vinegar as I was out of the solution. and was able to get the light off. Interestingly enough, my bottle has no mention of placing it in descale mode or anything related. The first time I knew about this mode was in your video. I descaled because the light had come on. Thank you so much for your easy and informative video
This is by far the best and most in depth video showing the de-scaling procedure for this type of Keurig machine. 76 year old in North Carolina. If I could hug your neck, I would!! I had gone through the procedure (I am a retired Chemist....it's hard to deviate from a procedure :) several times. Until I went completely through your video, it finally worked when I DID NOT fill the rinse reservoir before putting it back on the K-Express. I would have never thought of doing that. Thank you so much for sharing this. I LOVE my coffee maker but was ready to throw it out the door!

Woo Hoo! Followed your instructions and it worked perfectly! When the ADD WATER wouldn't go out, even after following your instructions, I went ahead and pushed the 8 oz. button and it worked fine. The descale light went out and it works perfectly! I did this on another Keurig Essential I had, but it wouldn't work AT ALL after I descaled! Pretty sure I messed up the descale instructions, but I ended up getting another Keurig from the manufacturer. I was hesitant to try again on my new one, but your video was extremely helpful and it worked like a charm!! THANK YOU!

I just lost your video from my saved videos. Went looking for it again and found you. ❤ My Keurig K-Cafe is spic and span again. I can't wait for my next cup, tomorrow morning ❤ oh yes, one thing. I realized during the cleaning process that I still needed to clean was my receptor area that holds the little utensil "cup" that we put the coffee grinds in to make our cups of coffee with. Haa! I found one of your videos on cleaning that "receptor cup" holder area, too. Especially the needle. It's important to know how to clean that needle without breaking it. I think you suggested to use a very small paper clip and gently slide it through the tint slots. I think there are 3 slots and coffee does get stuck in there. Thanks so much for your help!! ❤

Lifesaver! I was ready to toss my 3rd Keurig as my husband said no more $ on them (suggested I switch to his tried and true old school coffee pot he’s had for 7 years) which I was Not ready to do. I first watched your video on taking it apart and poking the heating thingy with a paper clip (yes, I don’t do tools or the likes) which then got it to start turning on. Then I tried the descaling your way video instead of the awful way the directions said which made mine foam and go nuts. And will you just look at my husbands face when I proudly presented my working keurig with his tools thrown around the table (I didn’t know which to use so I grabbed a lot of them). Excellent and easy to follow step by step instructions ( my machine did not have a manual enclosed- so I REALLY appreciate this!). Appreciate the " glitch" explanation, in case that happens. Just ran the whole descale process with no glitches. Noticeable difference in coffee taste. I love that your instructions are very focused and direct. It always dismays me when an instructor uses this platform as a try out for a dramatic role on TV- thank you for not going that direction! Mine worked perfectly. No glitch. I received my machine for Father Day 2022. It is july 29 and the descale light came on. Followed your directions perfectly and the process was flawless. Thanks for the instructional video. It made things simple. If I do get a glitch next time I will know what to do.

This is the fourth time I have descaled my machine. When I went to do it this time I forgot you have to hold the 10 and the 6 in for three seconds so I had to bring your video up. All else worked perfectly. I am glad you have left this video up. Thanks.

This does really help me I lost my manual and I work better with visuals anyway. I’m very new to coffee makers this is actually the first one I ever had I never really used to drink coffee until I start drinking Starbucks and with the Keurig I can get my mocha lattes.

Thank you! Bought the K-Express for the RV in October of 2023 and brought it in the house for the winter. This morning it quit running water through at all. The descale light came on. I found the box it came in, but the manual wasn’t there, possibly still in the RV. We tried the descale method from a couple other videos, called Keurig and were ready to return it. While waiting for an email with the return reference # I took the water reservoir out and towel dried every little crevice as well as the part it rests in. Once I did that the water ran through and it seemed fine, but the descale light was still on. I found your video, followed exactly as you demonstrated and it works like a dream again. The other videos did not talk about how to get into the descale blinking mode. Thank you for taking the time to explain it in detail. No glitches once I completely wiped everything clean. Ready for my morning coffee now. ☕️Its never too late to start over.

Thank you for your well scripted and nicely demonstrated instructions on how to descale my Keurig K Express Essentials K cup Coffee Maker. Suddenly today the water (coffee) from my Keurig coffee maker was coming out stone cold - otherwise it was behaving normally. Needless to say this was really annoying when you really could use a coffee and you know that the machine is barely past 3 months old! A little bit of Googling and I discovered that the descaling process might resolve my machine's problem. After another bit of quick Googling asking how to descale this model, your video came up near the top of the results. After watching your video it was easy for me to repeat the process on my machine. I suddenly became very hopeful when the water came out hot during the very first 8oz descaling run. You could also see some small flakes of scale in the bottom of the cup. That was unexpected (although the flakes had completely dissolved in the vinegar solution by the time all of the first 8 ounces finished coming out). That made me think. Before starting the 3rd descaling run, I waited 15 minutes before hitting the button and starting the next. The thought being that now the vinegar solution was everywhere inside - the heating tank and in all the pipes - perhaps let it sit(soak) there a bit to work on (further help dissolve) any stubborn scales. I figured it couldn't hurt - it might only waste some of my time... Finally, after rinsing it twice like you suggested, that first cup of coffee was fantastic (and a big relief). Thanks again for your time and effort to develop and make this video. 🙂 ☕

Thank you for the video! I threw away my manual and this helped immensely and worked w/o glitches for me. I have hard-ish water and brew 5cups a day. So, I suspect I’ll have to do this more frequently and the vinegar is more economical than the solution.

@@JustADad I had to descale it about 2 times and then rinsed it 3 times with water because I wanted no chance of any white vinegar in my coffee :) I really like Donut Shop’s “Coconut Mocha” coffee but I also like the Dunkin’s dark coffee since I live in MA where there’s a Dunkin’s around every corner.

Edit. Worked like a charm! I`m still recuperating from spine surgery, my laptop in the kitchen threw craps, so I had to write it down in the pc room and hobble back into the kitchen. All vinegar flushes. All water flushes done and light went out. *I did fill my fresh water in the resevoir all the way up to max fill line and maybe a hair more? All is well on my western frong LOL. Cheers dad, well done.

I found this out by holding down the wrong buttons😀 If you hold down the 10 and 8oz buttons while the machine is off it will run water through the machine as long as you hold them. The water isn’t heated but this might be useful to rinse out the machine a little quicker. Thanks for making this video too!

I used 100% vinegar in mine, ran the whole reservoir. Topped it off with purified water and finished the second reservoir. Washed the reservoir out and ran two full cycles of purified water. Worked like a charm
