thank you for your very understandable review what a breath of fresh air finally some one knows how to do a review for beginner photographers
We appreciate the kind words. Plenty more to come!
I just bought my Canon EOS RP 2 months ago as an entry level mirrorless and I love it.
It is a great camera for that exact purpose! Glad you are enjoying using it!
Battery life? Just switch to ECO Mode - and you make 700+ pictures with one load ... :-)
What the limitations with the eco mode? That's very interesting! 👍
@@antoine7085 The camea goes in 'Standby' -especially the monitor switches off. Like a car with a start-stop automatic at traffic lights. As soon as you press a button, the camera is awake ... :-)
@@kirfin that's it? Awesome !
Thanks for reviewing this at this point in the game. Most reviews I’m finding are a year old. I’m trying to decide between this and the 90D. You are the first reviewers I have seen who indicated how good it is for photos and that if that is your focus, it would be very good for it. I’m not trying to get into filming beyond a couple vlogs for friends so I think this will work. I’m impressed with picture quality on this more than the 90D. I am a little worried about lens cost but not enough to be completely deterred. Thanks again!
Thanks for the kind words Robin! The RF mount lenses can get really expensive but with the EF-EOS-R mount adapter you can get use any EF mount lens with this camera. Highly recommend looking for used EF lenses on both Keh.com and bhphotovideo.com they both have great selections of used EF lenses that are generally in great condition and will cost less than half the price of RF lenses. You will not be disappointed with the RP!
Buy an EF to R adapter it'll save you money.
What do you guys recommend, RP or EOS M6mii? I mostly care about taking pictures. I do care about the amount of detail and I wanna be able to crop. I will use mostly the kit lenses and shoot jpegs only. Do those 7 extra megapixels really make a difference when it comes to detail that can be seen on a 15 inch laptop screen? Or should I forget Canon and get Sony a6100/6400?
For photography, especially in terms of cropping, those 7 megapixels do matter quite a bit. That being said, the lens you use matters 100x more. I have an a6400 and have used it for plenty of photography and it have never once had an issue with the results so I'd definitely say it would be my first choice out of the options that you listed, but I would encourage you to consider getting some good lenses to go with it as those will have a much bigger impact on the quality of your images than additional megapixels will. Sigma has a $1,000 3 pack of f/1.8 prime lenses for the Sony e-mount that are great to pair with the a6400.
Hope that helps! Thanks for the comment!
Thank you👍🏾🎄
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
My choice right now is Canon EOS RP and Nikon Z5, but the Canon has a ton of lenses so I will go with Canon. Thanks for this vid! Keep it guys! :)
There is no comparison to the lenses that canon has available! Thanks for watching!
For me it worth to buy for photo but not for video. If video support until 4k crop. i already buy it at June 2021 For using with RF50mm 1.8 stm and Canon Flash 470 EX Ai if for beginner also good fullframe camera
Thank you for this video. I use the Canon RP but for a short time. It is compact and light and that's what I liked most about replacing my 6D MII that I sold. I used the RP with a Canon 35 f2 is usm, a Canon 40mm f 2.8 stm. But finally I bought the RF 50 f1.8 stm which is a Combo. perfect with the RP. I therefore look forward to the RF 16mm. { I noticed by comparing my EF lenses and my RF 50mm f1.8, that on my RP the RF 50 returned more contrasted images, less natural than with my EF 40mm and 35 f2 lenses is usm ?! I did portrait tests by changing the Image Styles, but despite everything the images with the RF 50 are more contrasted?! ... } > I also have a Zoom 70-300mm F / 4-5.6 IS II USM Nano left, but I'm waiting to be able to compare it with the RF 100-400 which should arrive at the same time as the RF 16mm. I don't know if the new RF 100-400 will be better in terms of image rendering than my EF 70-300mm F / 4-5.6 IS II USM Nano ? I will give it a try as soon as it becomes available in stores, and if the 100-400 turns out to be better and more compact then I will also resell my 70-300 to buy the new one. I also noticed that with my EF lenses on my RP the image rendering is more natural and less contrasted than with the RF 50, I will have to find the right settings with the Image Styles Menu ! On the other hand the RF 50 is really very clear, almost too much ! ...
Sincerely,
Philgood ...
Those are definitely great lens choices you have made. I too was curious about the performance of the basic RF glass but still found myself not ready to but non L Series glass from Canon. I would often choose L Series EF glass for that reason.
Subscribed from India. Wanted to know if I can upgrade from Canon 77d to eos rp.. have 100mm and 85mm ef lens..
Will it be worth investing in this fullframe..
Thanks for subscribing! I would yes, it is definitely worth upgrading to the EOS RP! Keep in mind that you need to but the canon EF-EOS R mount adapter to be able to use your EF lenses so that will add about $100 USD to the cost of upgrading, but the results you will get out of the full frame sensor will be well worth it!
you can download flat color profile made from third parties
How's the accuracy rate eye af in af-c photo/video?
It is very accurate! The digit processor is just as powerful as the EOS R and works seamlessly with both EF and RF glass, though RF glass is slightly faster at locking on. Overall, we have never had issues with it 👍
Stopped the video half way when I realized you didn't know what you're talking about. The EOS R doesn't have IBIS either. Also, the RP suffers from electronic only first curtain shutter which is a massive drawback that should have been at the top of the list of cons.
You are not wrong whatsoever! Lol This was our second UA-cam video that we ever created (I mean look at the color grading🤣)at that point we had absolutely no idea what we were talking about but so the saying goes "if you aren't embarrassed by the quality of your first product, you started too late". By no means perfect back then and by no means perfect now, but getting better each day! We appreciate the feedback!
You mention it does 120 fps on 720… is there a firmware upgrade I’m not aware of? I don’t seem to find 120 fps on my RP 😒
Try changing from PAL to NTSC or The other way
First.
