Update: I have a video posted about unsuppressed and suppressed pistols shooting from ranges . but due to the recent controversy the video basically got no tractions compared to this one. i am still willing to finish all guns but idk about now since 90% of the community doesn't care about the game anymore. so for the time being I'm going to work on better non tarkov content. so now it might be a bit longer until i post again because i was planning to work on other videos while recording and editing the rest of the gun videos. here's the link to the pistol video ua-cam.com/video/BoOIiNInTbE/v-deo.html i might delete later and try to post again later but idk. finishing this project kind of died when unheard dropped and I'm upset over that. thank you to all who subbed and liked this video. I'm very grateful and hope to grow more.
5:44 out of all gun sounds, this one gives me the most nostalgia. The sound of Scavs engaging a player in the distance near the start of a raid.. running to those shots or avoiding them depending on the scenario.
Thank you so much. I also find it very amusing that the loud SVD sounds much tamer at 100m than, say, at 60m, where it sounds extremely powerful and intimidating. The M700 however, with that kind of report, basically says "STAY AWAY", at any distance. Blog: First time I heard the M700 in-raid sent chills down my spine. It was in Woods, I didn't yet know what it gun it was, or if it was even for me, but I knew that it was bad news. It was getting dark and I was crossing from the north of sawmill towards Jaeger's hunting stand, carrying an MP9 (unwise given the locale). My Timmy self couldn't tell where exactly it came from. Sounded like it came from UN camp, but the report was so loud, dispersed and prolonged, the echo threw me off a lot so it could have come from the opposite side too (sniper rock area). I sprinted towards the tree line and made my way deeper, and paused a bit to let my PMC recover stamina. I heard footsteps, froze, it grew closer, I ran deeper and they fired at me, caught and blacked out my stomach. I kept running away and fell down a sudden drop about 2 meters down, broke both my legs. I tucked in real low among the trees and shrubs and swallowed some analgin, and put on splints. The footsteps got even closer, but they couldn't find where I was, nor I them, but then they flipped on their lights, so I legged the shit out of them, and even got a couple reloads in for the second guy (who limped away between my second and third mag. I stitched my stomach back up, looted and found an M700 on one of them. Fired it, and immediately learned all I needed to know about the M700. Beastly rifle. What a game Tarkov is.
Really appreciate this testing, dude~! I'd love it if this video had chapters so I could skip to specific guns. I'm definitely going to use this as a resource to improve my sound recognition!
Thank you for all of those who have watched, liked, and even the few who have subbed. I really didn't expect this to blow up as fast as it did. its been only a little over 24 hours and the video is about to reach 1k views and still going. all this interest has kind of got me motivated to make more content. I'm actually working on 2 other videos right now and I'm HEAVILY considering a follow up to this video where I show guns at different distances, from inside, and even suppressed. so if you want to know when that's posted consider subbing. I also post about new uploads on my Twitter twitter.com/LowPolyHorseYT
dude been playing for 4 5 ish years and i never relized some of the sounds, like the toz especially surpised and the fuck out of me never knew it was that
There should be a feature like in the "Hunt: Showdown" where you can check the sound of specific gun (from 0m I believe to, 100m, 200m, up to 1000m away). Anyway, thank you for this.
Its worth doing another video, this time with headesets on to see the difference, because gunshots sound closer than they actually are when you have a headset
maybe ill look into headset sound if/when i record a follow up. but each headset has different levels of audio and sound different. so that would possibly be a entire video in itself.
Nice video. Have the audio levels been normalized at all? The AXMC sounds kinda quiet relative to some of the other guns. Also, were you wearing a headset, if so, which one?
No more wonder why i can't know which weapon is fired, some have the same sound as sniper, dvl have a sound of a bad caliber, bro nothing help here, shotgun make same as some poor caliber too, can't reconize properly if its a sniper, a carbin, or a shotgun oO, rsass = svds for an exemple... Lol, svt -40 too close of a 9mm... sks = mp133.... well.. surprised that i can't guess after this video some comon scav weapon thx for your hard work
Fun fact you can just unpack the game files with unity asset unpacker and listen to them. Theyre all labeled by name and distance. You dont need to do this
@@ihatetrainyards4859 when inspecting suppressors, theres a value called "loudness." and I can easily tell that there is in fact a difference between suppressors. for example, try the WAVE QD and the Monster-Mini suppressors side by side.

Third idea is if you are inside a building and the shooter is outside
yeah I was considering doing all types of sounds. indoors, indoors suppressed, nearby suppressed, etc. but didn't want to go way overboard yet. wanted to just upload this and see how it did.
Important question: Was your character wearing any kind of headset? From what I've experienced from firing an M700, gunfire tends to sound louder and more all-consuming if you don't have a headset in.

100$ for the DLC gunshot direction and distance locator device
It is exceedingly funny to me that while I was trying to guess these sounds from memory, when the time came for SVDS i simply thought "Shturman"

Good stuff, I’d def watch a suppressed version of this. As at this point in the wipe so few are unsuppressed.
I’ve never even heard an unsuppressed mix before this video
not much point, suppressed shots are basically inaudible at 100 meters and beyond

So much work and effort it takes to make this, thank you, and I hope you get many MANY views, thank you mate.

No headphones and I didn’t mess with audio or anything. My friend and I stood in the same spot for all guns. Some are just weirdly quiet
Love it but lets get the audio description in here too with time stamps by somebody ratting with 20 mins to kill
Well today I realized there’s basically just 5 gun sounds in the game

yes
Good stuff, pls make one for suppressed guns
some suppressors make guns quieter than other suppressors do. unless they did every gun with every possible suppressor, it wouldn't be very reliable
All you would be hearing is the ambient noise and maybe bullet impacts because apparently opening a soda can is louder than a gunshot.
@@NewestHampshire They don't, suppressors are extremely half assed and subsonics STILL don't make a lick of difference.
@@ihatetrainyards4859 when inspecting suppressors, theres a value called "loudness." and I can easily tell that there is in fact a difference between suppressors.

@@NewestHampshire No, they don't. Every suppressed weapon in the game can be heard to exactly 100m
It's only me, or, outside sniper rifles, bigger calibers like various 7.62 do not sound that much louder than pistols?
If I'm not mistaken pstols are generally louder. Barrel length affects the sound. Now in the game if that is intentional or not is another story
@@alexg5092you’re mistaken. Rifles are louder than pistols, just due to the nature of rifle rounds.
