So glad I found this helpful video! I’m about to attempt this on my patio as well. I’ve read so many things and watching you do it, just made sense. Thank you and wish me luck!
Pretty much exactly what we need to do on our patio. There were four layers of paint and a layer of carpet adhesive under our outdoor carpet, got most of it removed with a push grinder rented from home depot. Now we have to clean up spots with the hand grinder. Thanks for the video!
Behr makes a pretty good sealer, it just takes A LOT of coats to actually get the results you are looking for. Hiring a local contractor you will most likely get a much better product. My local supplier always says "home depot and other box stores have to water down their products because they have to worry about a homeowner taking it home and drinking it..." 🤣
I would have suggested that before sealing and after power washing, you applied primer and 1/8 thick of self leveler color of your choice, then sealer, this would have given you perfect brand new look leveled sealed floor , but its true you would have busted your back on that floor for one or two extra days... other then that looks decent.
dude, loved the highway reference and the milk joke...i am no construction or concrete pro, but wondering if after rinsing it off giving it a few days to dry would have helped the end result of those cracks. good tips in here....great vid
Well-done video, very. His advantage is his concrete is a covered patio. What if you must wait a few days to dry and then dirt and dust gets on the patio? Then it's a rewash.
There's a smell when it's wet. Kind of like paint. Since it has been dried I don't notice any smell. Mine is outdoors so I'm not sure if it would be different inside.
That stuff looked waaaay to thin. I’ve used a sealer from a local concrete store and it was more the consistency of maple syrup almost. Dries clear with an actual wet look. Great video but use something else next time. You’ll be happy you did.
I like your dog we have 2 little guys and a balcony that is leaking even after I resurfaced it with a coat of water proof cement. I now have to seal it and paint it to look good. So do I put the sealer down first or the paint. I think is should be the sealer. Any idea which I should do first? Paint or concert sealer? I got both from Behr.
If concrete is like car paint then the color would go down then seal doesn’t make sense to seal it then paint it imo hope it comes out great and fixies your problem I’m getting ready to do a patio and large driveway
@@caseG80 I called behr and the guy told me they weren't but I called before that and the girl said they wereso the second time I called I had both containers with both paint and sealer in front of me and I told the guy and he said they were not compatiblehe said that after I get done laying the cement that I had to let it dry for like 90 days before I could sell it but that's a but the sealer and the paint were notso what I did was I took the paint and I painted it and it seems to have work I haven't gotten any leaks so far but he said it's not going to last long so what I'm going to do is next summer before the summer I'm going to go to Vegas and get some of the epoxy sealer that they have I was told by somebody else that if I sealed it with an epoxy sealer that it would last for a very long time and it wasn't worth resurfacing it was too much of a hassle I believe that guy was rightso next year I'm doing a two-part epoxy I don't think the one part epoxy stuff that they have is any good and you can't buy it in California anymore I use the two-part epoxy on my pool and it worked great so I'm going to use the same stuff but only for concrete and driveways and I'm going to get it in Vegas because you can buy it there
what I know for fact is the two-part epoxy worked great on my pool and that they have a similar product that I can purchase at home Depot but only in Las Vegas Nevada where it's legal to buy that stuff and I won't have any problems I think that's the solution but the stuff cost $300 but it's worth it to not have to go through what I went through putting the cement down up there on the balcony it was a real pain in the butt I had to do it by myself and I'm just a girl so and I'm 54 it really took a lot out of me to do that
A paver stencilling on the concrete would have been nice before sealing it. If the sealer wears off it might be something to consider 😀. The sealer made it look good though.
I have several little white spots on my finish coat. During application there was no indication there would be a problem. I need advice on how to remove these spots.
Hii Guys,I.want to.seal.my.mee.and.old.concrete. Could.anyone advice me which pressure washer to use as even one.from Kennard is not cheap.to hire. Can I use normal.karcher water pressure.washer or no? Please help. Thank u,
Yes you can use a normal pressure washer preferably gas one can be rented for fairly cheap or maybe find a neighborhood teenager who may have a pressure washer they make a add on device for cleaning concrete I’ve never used but I read good things about them except the really cheap costing ones they help to not get the lines left from power washer just with the regular tips
I liked your prep work; it was a reasonable amount of prep for a homeowner to do, and all the prep that I have done in my projects. (I would not recommend using Behr product. I have been disappointed twice in 10 years using their stuff...my garage floor still looks like crap. Never again.)
I hate to be a downer but this is a good example of what NOT to do. Good preparation will bear good results. Filling in the cracks with a concrete caulk or even better, resurfacing the entire patio would have been worth the extra work. TBH, the cracks now make it look awful. In addition now that's it's "sealed", it'll be near impossible to resurface in the future.
Looks great! Pup was able to supervise the end part, and that made all the difference... 🐕
I wish MORE people made videos like you! Concise, to the point, entertaining!
Yes, excellent, and no shitty music.
Agree haha this was great!
Excellent. This is a great example of showing us how to do something QUICKY! UA-camrs, please follow this template.
The nesquick joke had me dyyinnnggggg!!!
He actually got me with that Nesquik joke
I cracked up laughing at that joke!!! 😅

Thanks! Entertaining, helpful and to the point. Lol The dog was like “ 🤔 “.
Would love to see a video on how the sealer has held up 6 years later and if and what maintenance has been done on it.
This is a good sealer. I just finished about 3000st at my house.i used a roller and a pump up sprayer turned out great preparation is the key.
Love the pets on ur video
Thank you for your teaching. Everything was well explained
that was perfect and very satisfying to watch I agree with other posters you've got to the point you didn't stumble over your words and you were funny
straight to the point, and quick! with some humor! great job
Loved the Nesquik joke 🤣 about to do this project Tomorrow! Excited 😁
Quick and to the point! Thanks bro

The paint can opening is a spout. Use the cap to pull the spout out before you twist the cap off.

Not everyone can hire a contractor thanks to bidenomics🙄
The Nesquik line was enjoyed lol
You need to offer video tips to other UA-camrs, because your video was a pleasure to watch, and you succinctly made the point .
I love this video! Thank you!

I LOVE YOUR CAT!!! Your dog is cute too!!! Very informative and entertaining video!!!
Thank you for this video. Very informative, and you made me laugh. 👏
Good video. 👍 Nice, fast and to the point
Maybe getting some of that dust on the crack filler while still wet would help with it to blend in I’ve seen this done before. Cheers
Thanks. Seems pretty easy. I plan to use this for my new house garage floor before any vehicles park in it.
Perfect video
Good job, thanks for sharing your video with us
Thanks for the video, my question is for newly poured patio how long do I wait before sealing it?

wow..excellent presentation
Very helpful...and funny!! Thanks!
Thanks for the information dude. Appreciate you

Nice work!
Thanks for the info.
don't know about the sealer but this video is funny. : )
Cool cat dude
Dude! You are funny! Good job.
1:46 is what got you the "Like" from me XD
CFS epoxy crack repair kit. Made the same mistake myself with crack filler the first time.
Great job.
nice video sir.
Dude!!!
Awesome video.

POINT!
That Obama edit was fking fantastic.
Does this product make the floor slippery?
Thanks bro
1:40 was when i made the decision to like and follow.
Is it solvent or oil based?
My god you used a hand grinder for that entire thing are your back and wrists feeling any better yet?
Not very shiny ? Add more more shiny look?
Might be a dumb question, but I have a texture on my concrete for traction, will putting sealer down negate that?
Thanks for video,
How slippery is it?
Is it slippery when wet?
Does it make concrete slippery?
Great video, I will say though, you don't have to roll it. Pump sprayer works just as good 😁
I winder how this works on my freshly stained concrete patio floor?? I’ve also heard that if sealer get wet it turns white? Any comments on this?
just did this today !!!!
Solid vid, concise.
Thank You, for these video's. I am doing this. I do not care for the pump spray method. I wonder, does this Behr, have a very strong smell ?
There's a smell when it's wet. Kind of like paint. Since it has been dried I don't notice any smell. Mine is outdoors so I'm not sure if it would be different inside.
How long it will last ? I sealed my back yard concrete for two years now I have to do it again . Can you help ?
Thanks.
Could this be used to seal a concrete swimming pool?
Did the sealer make it slippery when wet?
Do you think moping it would suffice? I cant power wash
Want to put this over a painted concrete....is this possible?
Did you notice a milky white finish at all???
How is it holding up two years later?
How much of that bucket did you use?
Is this water based ? Would it work for acid stain floors.
How did it held up over years?
How much of the 5 gallons did you use for two coats? I have over 147 sq m of patio I want to seal.
Can we apply any coats of wax after so it can gain a shiner finished
That stuff looked waaaay to thin. I’ve used a sealer from a local concrete store and it was more the consistency of maple syrup almost. Dries clear with an actual wet look. Great video but use something else next time. You’ll be happy you did.
why didnt you stain it so it can cover the cracks and then seal

@@thefiXfilesis it slippery? Does it get slippery when wet? Loved the video by the way, simple and to the point.
Good video. I’m surprised how thin the sealant is.
Could it be use on brick ?
I have several little white spots on my finish coat. During application there was no indication there would be a problem. I need advice on how to remove these spots.
C of the V, did you find a solution to the white spots? I have the same white spots (sealing solution foam), and need to fix this too. Thanks.
Did you use up all the bucket? Could you have bought a smaller container… a gallon? Thanks for the video.
I have a ton left over. A smaller can would have been ideal.
How long does sealer last?
Is that you...Chef John?
Nesquik joke landed😂
Can this be used on exterior concrete that exposed to elements?
Yes

Nice ! Thanks ! Though I don't like Behr products. Enjoy!
Can stain be added to this sealer? that would hide the cracks, my driveway has cracks too.
You want to patch or fill the cracks before sealing or painting
LMAO!! Love it!!! Thank you!
Could I do this for indoor concrete?
Im about to try right after this video lol. Small counter top.
I liked your prep work; it was a reasonable amount of prep for a homeowner to do, and all the prep that I have done in my projects. (I would not recommend using Behr product. I have been disappointed twice in 10 years using their stuff...my garage floor still looks like crap. Never again.)
is this to help repel water so it doesn't absorb into the concrete when it rains?
Yes and front any dust/mud/stain
I feel your pain, my dogs are also ruining my home!

4 hours

Close! Beagle + pug. Def a lil sh!t though!
