Attention to the details always pay off, Great job
I concur
Terrific instructional vid. I like your calm demeanor and factual account of what your approach to the job / what you went through. Great stuff man!
TY
You provide a lot of great tips and information in your free videos . Even Mickey d charges a buck for coffee . Thank you.
I concur
Dude you are A1 in the concrete biz I just got my driveway done watched a lot of you vids I was on top those guys though the hole install lol.
Nice joTY
starting my own business doing this thank you
That’s a good idea about cleaning the stripper with acetone. I’ve always flushed it with water and had to wait a day to re-seal. 👍🏻👍🏻
for sure
Gotta say, it was funny to hear you say blows the hose. Not watched in a while damn you are doing well 114k, you are the Kirk Giordano of concrete. A true master of the trade. With wisdom to give. and you work with your son, that makes the great youtube videos.
TY
That's a really beautiful color and pattern.
TY
Fascinating demonstration of concrete maintenance.

@@OdellCompleteConcretehi I got a large patio poured month and half ago by I have two hairline cracks around 3 feet long and all the joints cracked do I have to fill those cracks before I seal it
Beautiful cheers Mr.Odell

very interesting! thanks for the video~!

Subscribed just because you managed to have Layla for your intro. Very informative and great work as well.

Guys, you are too much! This is called ART!

You guys work fast! 👍🏻
I try
Love the videos!

Use the stripper from that red metal container for your solvent based sealers.. the klean strip brand in the blue metal container is geared more toward stripping latex and water based coatings.
SOunds good
great work. thanks for sharing
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video, brother
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video 💯
TY
Nice job, like the 300 grit feel, added to sealer...
Great for exfoliating to
Good video!

Thanks for the video

Thanks man. You answered my questions.
Great
Do you have problems with tinted sealer? Will acetone work as a thinner?
The GOAT

I have used sealer before and one question, sealer is not like liquid so my pump didn’t spray well it was sticky, any idea why?
What do you think about investing in a horizontal surface sprayer. Might help you get the surface prepped faster. That’s what I use for my pressure washing company
That's interesting
Thank you
Did you install the artificial turf? The concrete and the turf both look good.
Time to get yourself a floor buffer. They are handy for cleaning and stripping. Just a thought...
On a large area I definitely would
did you originally do that terra cotta pour? it looks slick. i want something with roughly that same sq footage and style here in socal. how much would that run?
8.00
Hey! Great video! How many coats do you do with the pump sprayer?
Thanks
Wish you guys were in SLC - we can't get our concrete guys to finish our project :( You definitely come off as loving the craft!
TY
Maybe I missed it but what kind of sealer did you use and does it come thin enough to use in a sprayer or did you have to thin it?
All lacquer bases I thin except glaze and seal
Easy job. Did a few jobs last summer, sealing the driveways. You need to watch for the wind and the plants. The end of the video, it very windy and the sealant sprayed on those decorative plants/flowers, will end up killing them. I never apply sealant in sprayer when it's windy. If windy, I roll the sealant.
plants are inexpensive compared to concrete perfection
Odell Complete Concrete sloppy way of attaining "perfection"! That's just not paying attention to small details and sometimes those small details, count the most.
Great video. What’s the name and brand of the non slip additive that you mixed into the sealer?
Sharks teeth
great job guys! I know this is an older video but any idea on the color you used for this job? was it stained after poured or mix in? thanks.
Mixed in
Thank you for another great video! There are rust spots appearing on my paver patio. It’s 2 months old and plastic furniture was the only thing on it. Is it minerals in water? What’s best way to remove the rust? What’s the best sealer for pavers. Polymetric sand has been applied. Planning to seal after rust is removed. Can be “wet or dry” look. Thank you!!!!
Yes water is a killer
Love the video. I'm going to try and use the "disposable" sprayer you used in the video. Most of the sealer application instructions suggest using the sprayer then following with a roller to even it out. Is there a reason why you don't do that step? Should I skip that. I'm just re-sealing a stamped concrete patio similar to the one in the second half of this video.
That's true for water base
The sealer I use is sticky fast
Many are forced to use a roller to even out the sealer because their sprayer does not atomize well. Using a new disposable sprayer can eliminate the need for a roller.

Nice video bud but I have a question, I've been in my house for about 12 years now and there is some kind a stain on the walkway, it's a pretty nice looking stain but it's getting old and beat up and fading, I want to restain it. I don't think it's an acid stain but my question is, am I able to stain right over the old stain if I clean it really good? It seems like it would be hard to completly remove that stain.
You may want to check with a stain manufacturer for that one
Enjoyed your video. How long after new concrete has been laid down do you need to wait to apply the sealant? Thank you🙂
30 days
How long does it take to dry and start walking on concrete after the sealer is applied?
30 minutes
We use CLR to remove calcium, lime and rust. We put it in a bowl and soak our shower heads and you can see it dissolve the lime buildup. Once done, pour the the product back into container for future use. Since you were trying to remove a mineral based stain/buildup, CLR should work right?
Yes if its on top of the sealer
When stripping sealer is cleaning it again with a degreaser when it dries necessary or should it be good to go for sealer? Thanks!
Should be good to go
Love your videos much appreciated...
?What type of sealer do you recommend if you dont want to reseal every couple years and still get a wet look was thinkn some kind if penetrating type and what brand??
Glaze and seal
does sealer prevent mildew/mold in shady areas?
Question, I'm about to seal all of my exposed pami deck with Glaze n seal wet look laquer sealer. Can I use a roller to apply?
yes
I noticed you didn't follow with a roller. Is there any advantage to following behind with a roller? And, only one coat applied? Thanks!
Roller gets sticky real quick
Random question but we have a gunite pool slide that has a stained finish. It’s losing it’s slippery coating. Contractor said they use a concrete/rock sealer on it. do you think I’d have to strip all old coating to keep it super smooth or could I just add a new shiny layer on top.
ADD another coat of lacquer base, but add a non-slip additive
I seal my patten Concreat with a sofr brush and a bucket work really well you can realy work it into then concreat
Awesome
Do you need to back roll after spraying?
What kind/brand of sealer do you use?
matcrete
So after a real good surface clean on concrete walkway or driveway what do u recommend using to seal it so it doesn’t get dirty again or less dirty..
It will always get dirty.
The benefits of sealer is to prevent staining and premature surface wear
What sealer do you suggest. Have you ever sealed Kool decking around pools
Installed cooldeck but never have I sealed it
My sitting wall for our patio has patches where it is kinda white and discolored. The contractor added some kind of powder colorant to give it a bark gray color. It was not sealed before the cold weather and snow set in. Any suggestions for me to "repaint" it?
Thanks for your video. I always look at tons of them and it helped educate me as a homeowner. Also, you have a soothing voice. 👍
I don't what would hold up in that weathet
@@OdellCompleteConcreteThanks!
What kind of sealer did you use I just poured a color and stamp slab and am looking around to find the right sealer
I’m aiming for a semi gloss look if you have any suggestions thanks.
Glaze and seal
When you spray the sealer on the floor does it matter that it gets on the walls or on the windows?
Yes don't spray it on the windows or anything else
Hi can you tell what you used for the sealer? I have a newly poured concrete walkway pad and would like to preserve it. Also is there any way I can color the concrete after the pour? It came out lighter that we were expecting and would like the look to be darker. Any recommendations? Thanks
You can tint your sealer with concrete resurfacing powder.
I do have have a chapin industrial sprayer for solvents. However, the two tips it came with are giving me tails. Why?
What size short nap roller for inside smooth concrete for sealer?
Also I'd use a surface cleaner instead of the wand when pressure washing
3/8"
Hello! I'm makinv cement pots. Can i just wipe the insides with sealer using paper towels? Or do i have to use paint brush? Thank you!
Depends on the type of sealer
What kind of sealer are you using? I am getting new concrete poured in my barn next week, and I want to seal it up asap.
Lacquer base wet look
What’s the difference between saw cut joints and ones made with a trowel? The joints in my concrete walkways are massive, maybe a full inch in some places. Always hated it.
That's the difference.
Big and small, same goal
Is 30 days enough time to let the concret cure before staining it?
If there is some moisture left in the concrete while sealing will it eventually evaporate through a water based sealer? My concrete wasn’t 100% dry when I sealed and it looks a little blotchy
You need to strip it
Question if I used a water based sealer ( the dry look) and I wanted to switch to solvent. What’s the best way to switch or can I go that route
Clean and apply
Hey there. Attempting to apply Foundation Armour AR500 using the exact same HD $15 sprayer that I planned to just discard. I think the sealer is too thick. Wont spray as a mist. Only comes out as a stream. I confirmed the sprayer works perfectly fine with water. Any suggestions on what I could be doing wrong?
There are different types of nozzles ( nozzle heads)
Some are slit to shoot a radius
I have the Chapin Xtreme sprayer, and am having the exact same problem trying to apply AR500. You're not doing anything wrong, its just too thick. Foundation Armor tech told me to use a 1 GPM tip and thin with up to 5% Xylene. I tried with .5 GPM and it wouldn't spray a mist. If the Xtreme sprayer and a .5gpm won't spray an even mist, the plastic sprayers don't stand a chance unless it is thinned way down.
I have been told different things about this process...I have stamped "stained" or colored concrete. I can or cannot use a surface pressure washer to clean it?
Pressure washer will not work.
Does the sealant not overspray onto the house or that expensive turf? The original sealer that was applied right after pouring stained my dads brand new siding. I feel like a barrier of sorts is needed if you spray.
This isn't siding or turf
Need your help I’m about to do concrete sealer, but I see some residue from the previous sealer. What should I use to completely take the last layer off?
Sample with new sealer and wait a couple days. See what it looks like
Can you give the name of the stuff you used in the sealer to make the floor a non slip surface ?
Shark Teeth
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Ok thanks. What i found is SharkGrip from H&C Concrete Products . They say that this type is a sort of plastic grit . And that its better compared to silica sand or aluminum oxide beads that have also been used, bcz these materials can change the appearance of decorative concrete.
Are you familiar with this ?
I've used Shark Grip and Surf Grip. It's essential, because once wet, the concrete is extremely slippery, and good luck using a snowblower on a driveway without it. The wheels and your feet will barely have traction.
I seen some sealer being applied with roller, will spraying give you the same results
Yes
I am from Ukraine, when i watching your widio i understent I have no idia how to work with concrete. Thank you.
TY
Great video. You mentioned that you might have to remove the sealer if you have years of build up at 8.28.
How would you remove the sealer?
Stripper
Thanks for sharing this video!:)
I have a question 🤔
I am planning to remodel my bathroom and am planning for a full concrete shower and flooring, I don't want the concrete to have any shine to it. Are there matte sealers that are good for showers?
Thanks again.
Yes there is many, there all comparable
@@OdellCompleteConcrete thank you very much :)
So can I do this to my concrete around the pool to make the color come back? Will it make it slippery?
You can do it, a non slip additive
Hey, thanks for vid. How long I need to wait before I stain new concrete. And also what do you recommend for dog kennel concrete sealer. Thanks
Did you ever find out..
It says at least 30 days on the sealant I bought

What Is the Brand Acrylic Sealer that You used?
Could you share some more details about those granules you added for a 300 grit finish? Cheers!
Sharks teeth
The sealer brand you use is it glaze n seal with the grip n seal? I watch your videos and love how you explain everything. Wish you was in Northern California 😢
Yes and yes
Me too
TY
When you have a lot of build up of sealer on existing concrete whats the best way to strip it, if its a large area?
Jasco stripper
I paint the floor, I put the sealer and now i decide to stencil on top. It’s ok if I do it on top of the sealer?
Yes and seal again
Is cutting cracks in concrete bad in other areas of the U.S. where there is freezing water...
Not really, as long as the water can drain out before it freezes, or you can caulk the joints
What type exactly sealer did you used? I just saw another video but that guy was rolling the sealer (Behr) and that’s a lot of work for me and the patio is big so a sprayer is wayyyy better and faster!!! Thx!!
Did you ever find out the answer to what kind of sealer? I want to spray on also:-)
This is a great video. I just bought a house with a similar looking patio as the second one in this video. There is a thin crack that runs through the middle. Do I need to address/repair this first?
Not really
GL
I add sealer to my floor is kinda like the one of this video . but the floor is white it looks like salt is in it . how can I fix that .
remove sealer
Is the sealer very thick. Last time I sealed my patio the sealer was quite thick and I had to roll it on. It would by nice to use the sprayer next time like you.
If you want thin sealer try glaze and seal.
If you you want thick sealer that you an thin out try anything else.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete if you use glaze and seal can you still use the addictive for helping with slips and falls?
@@guera4life63If I heard correctly in this video he said he used the granular with the sealer and it runs through the sprayer well.
What do you use to clean the concret
How often do you resealed stamp concrete is there a seal that would make stamped concrete look wet
whenever it's looking bad
You don’t need to protect the walls from the sealer? Please reply, I start pressure washing my patio tomorrow lol
Maybe
It depends on the operator
Great video 👍
Would you use a roller to apply the sealer on a smaller concrete patio?
Yes you can!
To me is much better
Use a roller
Spraying looks like some spots are non covered equal
@@conejoazteca685 That's what I thought too -- especially the first video. It doesn't look good at all.
How many gallons of product does it typically take for a driveway and perhaps walk way as well? I know that’s a loaded question without dimensions, however just a standard driveway, 2 car fit.
2 to 3 gallon
Thoroughly done nice. Please let us know what sealer you used. And where you can get it.
Glaze and seal
I have nothing to do with concrete but still, must watch it 😁

I just had some concrete done in my backyard and I’m going to sell it. I have a dog should I not let him near the newly sealed concrete for like two days? Can it be harmful if he walks and sleeps on it? Thank you

Maybe
How long do you wait between coats with the glaze n seal?
Two hours
Love the finish and colours used in the original pour - what were they? I'm hooked on your channel! cheers from the UK
Thank you! Cheers!
What type or brand of sealer are you recommending? Thanks
Glaze and seal
I remember you pouring that first one. That landscaping really turned out nice. Somehow the patio looks smaller now.
strange right
When did you apply the sealer? I just had my concrete poured yesterday..
What do you charge for that second job? I would assume like $1500? Just curious as I might be doing this for a customer soon and I’m not sure how to quote the job.
That sounds about right
I had my stamped concrete done almost a year ago the guy never came back to seal it and I'm just now getting around to have time to do it what advice can u give me as far as what to use I want a wet look but non slip
Depends what state your in.
