@9:15 yes, stop breathe, assess and take your time. Well, except for that time I was in Baja bogged on a beach alone, sun going down and tide rolling in. You know what they say, "Good judgment comes from experience. And experience? That comes from bad judgment." I got myself out and lesson learned.
Nice video guys! When I am confronted with a situation of the kind depicted in the video the first thing I do is remove the material from in front of the tire. No matter what kind of recovery I plan to use it will always be easier to extract the vehicle if the first foot or so of travel is not uphill. For many circumstances that is all that is needed. Frequently I see people try and get themselves out of a hole by doing the absolute minimum amount of effort. It's not until they break something that they look for the simplest way to get moving again.
You might want to review the positioning (location and height) of your sand flag. Typically is Australia we work on 2-3m high and mounted as far forward as possible as this provides the earliest warning to oncoming vehicles when cresting dunes.
I believe that the instructions for dead man is to pull on the 2 straps nearest stuck vehicle and attach the opposite straps to loops in the first set of straps so that you don't just roll entire bag of sand out of hole.
I bet that deadman pulled right out of the ground, so they didn’t show it lol. He said he was going to bury it 4 feet deep, yeah,no. No point digging a half-assed hole, spend that time and bury that thing!

If you do not have a dead man or other commercial device, you can bury your spare tire in the sand.
That’s what us Aussies do cause we always have a spare tyre
Good call!
That’s also as long as your spare isn’t buried under your vehicle. Lol.
@@bennysax1 Yep mine is under the bed so this is way better.

Thank you!
Tip 1: "Don't let Ryan drive." got it ;)
Great tips guys!
Loving these vids Tanner!
2nd video I’ve watched showing the dead man working without showing me the dead man actually working. 😂
Yeah we had one camera and should of had the drone in the air to have the second angle.
I'm loving this series. While the boss is away boys will play!😂

I wish you had used crawl control on the Tacoma to show its limitations.
What about Crawl Control before max trax?
And very informative.
Just went through this lockers and all not getting out 2.5 hours 15 yards of moving sand
How about from quicksand, solo, without an anchor point? Been there :(
Nice
Ryan is also fired from digging 4ft deep holes. That looked about 2ft deep. lol.
You could also use your spare wheel as a dead man
Lets go!
Wow

Locker would help there.
Go to the Tunisian desert and learn from the rally drivers and the people who live in the dune's.

Put tell-tales on each board in case they get buried and go out of sight. 👍🏻🙏🦘
