Something to consider adding is a ratcheting adapter for your breaker bar. I’ve used one a couple of times when I’m tight for space and extra versatility Is always nice to have.
Pelican is on another level. All the others are marketing companies selling coffee cups and overpriced cool looking coolers. Pelican cases are most amazing simply because you can 100% believe they will not fail. Great kit And great video here. Thank for sharing
Great video, and gave me an idea of how to stow my Factor 55 kinetic rope etc as well. One piece of kit I include in my truck when off roading is a land anchor.
@@sioux3639establish a winching point when nothing else is available (trees, vehicle etc.) or providing my truck extra stability from sliding forward when pulling another vehicle should that be needed.
That’s awesome! Luckily, here in NC, all of our off-road spots are surrounded by trees, so I’ve never had to deal with that situation. We do head out to the Outer Banks every year, but it’s usually with a big group, so if someone gets stuck, there’s always help nearby. I’m planning a trip out west soon, though, so I may pick one up for that adventure! Thanks for watching!
My gear may ride around in a Toyota, but it sees plenty of use helping others! I’ve been pulled out before of course, but not often. 😅. A couple houses ago the road went 4X4 only just past the house and I got to play life guard for those that overextended themselves!
Velcro ties/straps serve multiple purposes, keeping tree/tow straps and kinetic ropes neat and tidy are but one. Factor55 and others make these and they're better than zip-ties for strap/rope admin., plus they're reusable.
Hey Dylan, really like your set up with the pelican I have one for my CJ five but I was always afraid to drill holes in the bottom to mount is yours mounted to your roof rack and keeping it watertight
Great question! I used 1/4 inch carriage bolts, with the bolt heads fitting perfectly into the slots of the rack. After drilling through the bottom of the case, I slid the bolts through, added a fender washer, and secured everything with a nut. To keep it waterproof, I applied silicone around the bolts on the inside. However, after needing to remove and reinstall the case a few times, I got tired of reapplying silicone each time. So, I picked up some rubber fender washers from Ace Hardware. Now, I place the rubber washer first, followed by the metal washer, before tightening the nut. The rubber washer compresses around the hole, creating a seal when everything is tightened. No more need for silicone!
How did you mount the case on your roof? Did you just put it on the roof rack? I'm asking because I want something similar on my roof and I liked the way yours looked.

I have used Pelican cases for 25 years. And have put them thru allot abuse. They had a lifetime warranty. I only seen one case fail it was crushed and replaced by warranty.
That's an awesome setup. I'm going to get one of those tree savers, I don't like damaging them.
Yes! Thanks for watching!
Next time you're at HF grab a roll of double-sided velcro and ditch the zip ties.
Good idea! I’ll be sure to do that!
Subscribed because you made the "clean kinetic rope because I drive a Toyota" joke. Well done my guy!
Ha! Glad you caught that! Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Dude you gotta upload more. Your production quality is unmatched my guy!
Thanks! Plan on uploading more content soon!

Glad to hear it! Good luck with your setup!
Spray some 303 on it like twice a year to prevent Uv damage. 👍
Very nice setup, Thanks for sharing.

No mini air compressor to air up tires?
I have an ARB single compressor under the hood attached to my firewall. I can make a video showing how its installed!

Are the wheels replaceable on all pelican cases? I got the pelican 1700 and wheels are broken. Thanks in advance.
I'm not sure. I would believe so.
Without this basic gear you would never have made it home!

lol, not a scratch on that kil…. Not even the axe. Pffffft.
It's because I drive a Toyota. Jeep owners just don't understand! Thanks for watching though!
@ oh, I know. It is always fun to recover a Taco out of a Walmart parking lot.
Not sure if this setup is any good. Looks like none of it's been used.
