Thank you .
Can we have a video about the actual raw performance that will make the mixing engineer's life easier with our vocals and add to a better final result? Thanks Chris!!
Yes please!
good idea! please chris!
This. This is exactly what I need. I open up pro tools and instantly my brain shorts circuits and I can't figure out where to even begin. I have no idea how to include any kind of effects and be able to hear them in my headphones while recording, let alone how to actually do any EQing or other effects before I can even send it to my headphones in the first place. It seems like every tutorial is for logic pro and the few I've found for pro tools skip over those important things like they assume I know what I'm doing already -.-
The course he does with Will Ramos has a whole mixing session that wills mix engineer teaches
I've been watching for a few years now, and I just want to say thank you. Thank you for helping me achieve the things I thought I could do, but wasn't sure if it was possible. I'm grateful to always be able to come back to your videos where no one is judging, and we're all capable of something.
Outstanding! Night and day difference with your vocal chain applied. And...really well explained...thank you!
This video is one of the best, most concise vocal production videos I’ve seen.
Lewitt's are good mics. Awesome mics for the price. I have a LCT 440 pure. I love it.
It's also nice to duck out your ambiance by side chaining a compressor to react to your lead vocal and duck the ambiance out of the way... Gives you more flexibility with the size/length of of the ambience you can use as well.
oh I need this. Fantastic examples and instruction. Thank you!
A very complex matter explained in an understandable way! Thank you!
The AM radio trick for reverb/delay sounds interesting. I'll have to try it some time
Thanks for this video! As always, straight to the point and immediately applicable. And again I learned some valuable details to keep my eye on.
YES!!!!
How funny I just asked about this. Great song choice btw. Love Dayseeker
Thank you for the delivery!
Really like these type of videos!! Great to revisit the fondementals!!
Dayseeker🙌 so good! Good video Chris!
Your videos help me a lot, thank you Chris! Hugs here from Brazil.
Happy to hear that!
More videos like this, Chris. I would also like to see some videos of you analyzing some famous singers from the process and effects point of view on their recordings. Maybe using some stems. Would be great. Thank you!
freakin awesome
Great job
Super useful as always Chris. Keep em comin'
You got it! @Poetslove, glad I could help
Seriously, though, that was an incredibly helpful video!
Tip #1 - have an amazing voice like Chris Liepe.
I think that’s probably tip#2… #1 is adopting his confidence! My gosh.
another banger video 🤘
Hi Chris your way of teaching is wonderful. Your lessons have helped me immensely. Thank you very much. Just a question can I follow the same pitch as yours? since female pitch is different.
Yes, absolutely... whatever is comfortable! Just listen to your body and do what it tells you first, before striving to get a particular sound! :)
Do you think it's worth a reaction? カラス - うぴ子【MV】CROW - UPIKO
Yes please!
Hey Chris, I was hopping u could do a vocal analysis on the lead singer of nicotinedolls, he has an amazing voice but haven’t placed it 🖤🤘🙏
Have u heard Crow by Upiko? Would love a reaction on that, is a really impressive performance
Hello Chris. I'm from Türkiye. Dimash War and Peace. Kiew live performance please❤
Hey Chris if you post a cover on UA-cam the record label will strike it but it won't be deleted unless you monetize it right? I don't care if I make money on a cover really. I just want to show my vocals. As usual appreciate your videos and think this channel has really been a boon in my vocal arsenal
Mostly yes :) Although you can qualify for a "sharing claim" if you reach out to the copyright owner. The content ID system will not strike it, but will not let you monetize it, instead sending any ad revenue to the copyright owner who has claimed the video.
@@chrisliepe thank you I appreciate your input. Hoping you have an excellent day!
ok the level automation is a bit of an uncharted territory, let me replay that lol

Can you do a multitrack reaction on michael jackson's burn this disco out please
Looking.
The bottom line voice is main instrument and the rest follow the lead.
Depends on the band, context, and intent of the song. Archspire, for example, would likely disagree, as they use the vocals more percussively. So that requires a more nuanced mix that lets the vocals work together with the guitars and bass to create a more singular, cohesive sound. In a Pop sphere, you'd be right. But there's no broad-sweep rule for where the vocals should sit in the mix for every genre.
No I do not
