Was waiting for Michael Stipe this entire song...would have been sick if he came in the end. oh well still one of the greatest sings in rock and roll history
I thought it was just me that thought that but god damn that was fucking stellar. That piano player was spot on and the vocals, and Clarence god... damn... perfect. Not just a song. Born To Run is a fucking masterpiece.
There were 13 bands perfoming that night. From rappers to The Dixie Chicks. Unlike me, not everyone was there to see The Boss. Mixed audience. I've seen him perform BTR probably 10-11 times live. This certainly wasn't the best response from a crowd but it was still pretty high energy. The coolest part for me was knowing that so many of these people were experiencing Bruce for the first time - and as we all know that is pure magic.
I love and grew up with REM, all the way back to 1982, but you can tell that in this Bill Berry-less version of the band, Mike Mills wants out, especially while playing with Bruce here!
just to clarify something for those who havent been lucky enough to see the boss in concert.. they arent booing him, they're saying bruuuuuuce. good performance though, i like mills and buck having fun onstage but where was stipe for that one?
@djmcg07 the only thing better than bruce at the garden singing Born to Run is Bruce at Giants Stadium singing Born to Run. the jersey crowd brings it to a whole other level
Bravo for Obama. Alinsky was a great man and a real organizer. He felt that power should be with the people, not with the Dick Fulds, Lloyd Blankfeins and Jaime Dimons of the world.
Well, have to say as a big fan of both acts.. this isn't the best version I've heard.. maybe this wasn't Boss's best day.. and.. where is Michael Stipe?
How could this performance not completely rock your world?
Bruce Springsteen the greatest live performer of all time and day light second.
my god, this song stirs the emotions!
