I would really love to see more of this! I know it takes lots of time writing all this but it would be lovely if these videos will be even longer than this introduction. It's very nice to listen to this while painting :)
Thank you. I thought it might be longer myself when I first planned it out, but with being careful to stick to mostly “2276 era” stuff, there’s not a huge amount of material to go on. Even the main lore in the rulebook is 75% pre-history stuff, and while that’s cool, there’s so many other videos already covering that stuff. There was a little more detail in the rulebook on some stuff, but with really only one source there danger was I’d just be reading directly from the book (or re-ordering of words). So I decided brief would be the best option for now. I’m going to work my way through the factions, add in what’s in the arcane journals to the little bits in the Forces books and the main rulebook. I still don’t expect they will be huge, can’t see them being the hour long kind I’m afraid, but we shall see when I start to write them. Thank you for watching 🙂
Great narration and coverage. ~20min for what could easily run 20 hours. I always love seeing some of those older WF artworks too. Particularly anything Geoff Taylor, Mark Gibbons, Wayne England or Adrian Smith. It's good to show The Old World has so much more going on than just a latest edition or a particular style.
Really enjoyed that Stu, will have to watch a couple of times to help get me up to speed, as the last edition i bought before TOW was 5th. I’d forgotten how much fun the lore and background side of the game is.
Cool lore video. It will be interesting to see what is done with the Empire arcane journal particularly with reference to the civil war. I wonder if they make any allowance for kits or transfers that let you set the factions apart since the usual empire troop boxes wouldn’t visually set them apart unless you paint them to show their allegiance. Possibly Empire might get some new character models to represent particular factions.
Played Warhammer Fantasy Role Play in 89 and have loved the setting ever since. And yet decades later I am surprised by how the lore has grown. The End Times and what came after I just ignore because that’s where the lore absolutely falls apart. I mean the End Times Books were bad and the times after that is not Fantasy in my mind. But now the Old World is back and may it bring in a new generation of gamers who I hope will love the lore as much as I did when I was a teenager flipping through the first edition WHFRP that I will never forget.
Thanks you 😊 There’s not much published old world lore to go on sadly, so saving some of the faction detail for the individual faction lore videos I have planned, so there will definitely be more.
WHFB lore was just great grimdark but not devoid of a certain humor (dark as well). Grounded yet capable of well narrated (mostly) forays into the realm of high fantasy. In other words, I fully endorse this video!
Thank you 😊 I couldn’t find any information on it either, other than guessing it could be a fictional older spelling or pronunciation of Ostland. It’s definitely written/spelt Osterlund in the main rulebook. Can’t wait to read the Empire arcane journal to find out more.
Now this I like.
😊

Awesomeness Maximum Stu. You’re turning into one of the best Old World channels.
Thank you very much 😊

Thank you. Empire was the thing that stuck out to me most after doing this, can’t wait to see their approach and what’s in that journal.
Excellent stuff!
Thank you 🙂
Excellent. Half an hour is a good length I think.

I’ve had a similar journey to you, and the world of Warhammer will always hold a special place in my heart.

This is brilliant. Does anybody have any info on Osterland? It seems like it was plucked out of thin air 🤷🏼♂️
Thank you 😊

They won't do Kislev due to the war in Ukraine I heard.
I’ve heard that rumour as well.
That was well done, a new string to the bow, I look forward to the nest instalment.
Thank you 🙂
