This pass year I began using hair grease and water a lot more. I remember growing up and that was the only thing my mother used on my hair. I never had any issues about hair breakage and my hair not growing. Sometimes old school methods are the best when it comes to natural hair. Love your hair 😘

Me and grease have a relationship ever since I tried it on my hair for the first time. I literally use water and grease every wash day and it has made my wash day pretty simple and not time consuming.

Yall, please listen to me. I started this natural hair journey 10 years ago and couldn't get it right no matter which of our kinfolk products I tried, Aunt Jessie, Ms. Carol, Bronner Brothers, Carol's Daughter, etc. .
I went back to what my mama used to do which was grease, water, wash, repeat! Bam! Hair started growing.
God bless you all in your own personal journey.

I recently came to the realization that my mom used to wash my hair every couple of weeks, use grease, and then braid it up. My hair was LONG, thick and healthy. I decided to abandon most products and go back to what mom did. Wash, grease, and style it for at least one week. It's working. My hair is much longer and continued to grow.

I’m excited for my next 6 weeks of wash days. Wao! You are right when it come to detangle your hair with gloves!! I became natural a year ago, I saw a photo of my hair from years ago and I really realize how much hair I lost with all those process to straight my hair, and on top of that I suffer from alopecia , well I desire that I won’t detangle my hair or wash it with my hands, so I use power-free nitrile exam gloves, and trust from my hands full of hair that fall of to 3 or 5 to nothing this help me combine with natural products and oil and grease to keep my hair , now my hair is healthy and so long, so thank you for helping us because most of the stuff you said and did is true!! Globe are the best people though I was crazy but the gloves help me better than my comb or my hands, but use the right gloves for it!

The one thing that changed my natural hair progress is oiling my scalp during protective styling. I stopped adding oil directly to my scalp & would just dilute it in my water but once I did it straight on the scalp I noticed I retained more length & saw more thickness.

Yes, you can mix all powders and use them as a mask but I would recommend you try mixing two powders first and see how your hair reacts. Braiding with or without extensions grows hair. All you need to pay attention is your scalp while your hair is in braids. Clean your scalp, oil your scalp and massage from time to time. Do not neglect your hair while in braids. The installation is important and the take down of braids is important. A lot of people lose hair during those processes so take care.

And does your hair not get tangled when you do braids out or twist out

Great question. So it actually tangles more when I do twist out but not braid outs. Braid outs are great for my hair stretch and they keep my tangles out.

My hair is low porosity and I use Amla every after two weeks as a pre poo mostly.

      First, whatever you are doing...STOP.
Next, wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo on the first wash, a moisturizing shampoo the second wash. Then condition your hair with a cholesterol treatment. (Sit under a dryer for 30 minutes). Follow up with a moisturizing mask. ( sit under the dryer for 15 minutes). Rinse very well.
Now that your hair is clean and conditioned, generously apply a moisturizing leave in conditioner. Use Blue magic or Dax. Section your hair and gently detangle each section. Spray water if needed to keep your hair slippery so your come will glide through your hair. Put your hair in twists or braids. Every 2 days take down your braid. Generously add your leave, then your grease and re braid. Do this with each braid. Make sure you do this every two days. Cover your hair with beautiful silk or satin scarves. Your hair will heal and start to grow.

You absolutely need a moisturizing leave in (Cantu leave in or african pride leave in) and a grease (blue magic or dax)

You are right! Wigs are great but our natural hair is best. I am here to advocate for women and men to love and wear their natural hair because it is absolutely beautiful 🤩

How long do you let your twist out or braid outs last

    • @BarbaraBirungiSunflower
      @BarbaraBirungiSunflower  2 роки тому +1

For braid outs I can keep them out for a week at most. For twist outs, they don’t last long out so two days to three at most.
