My tip for beginners is to always watch your replays from all cameras available. You begin to get a feeling for what is happening outside your field, such as wheels placement, and mirror blind spots. Also helps to put yourself in the other competitor's situation and understand how you drive from their perspective. If you do full length races and the replays are too long, just check the contacts and overtakes. Pay extra attention when viewing from the other car's onboards or chase cam.
After that I'll take whatever tips you have for me in the future, 'cause I'm stuck right now xD Think I got most of the theory and just can't get enough smoothness and precision in my movements with steering and pedals y.y
"If you're the slower car stay on your line!" Too right! I was racing at zandvoort in the skippys when a damaged car tried to get out of my way at the same time I tried to overtake. Our cars become one.
But when albon did it in f1 everyone praised it. Unless it's cutting a corner it's usually self policing by grass being slower and less grippy, I think that time is fair
Jacob has a point. In real life there are stewards and rules that sometimes vary. But in game the game tells us what is legal and what is not. This is especially true with track limits as that is something every game polices in some way. You get penalties, slow downs and so forth. Those penalties and messages are also supposed to teach you where you can and can not drive. If you get a penalty for going wide or cutting a corner then you know the game is telling you to not do that. You can have your own rules ("don't cut corners") but those are your own rules and you can not expect others to obey them. So if the game allowed that pass on the grass then it is legal. Sometimes the game gives a lot of leeway, sometimes it is very strict. But the game decides what is on or off the track.
i didn't see a problem with it i mean overtaking on grass isn't easy although i don't know how good gt7's off track physics are but usually there's less grip which makes it difficult too get a move done so i think it's fair since he actually managed too make it stick that's just my opinion tho
My man really just submitted a clip from real racing 3 the OG mobile racing game, where you can only race AI. This gave me a smile today. The AI in this game cannot race wheel to wheel. At all
3:02 I'm relatively new to sim racing (couple years) , but I feel like I've been told enough times that if I'm behind, that it's on me to pass safely if I'm making an overtake, not only that but even if he had more speed, he's already outside the white line before finishing the corner, so it'd be an illegal overtake regardless unless I'm dumb and we're not recognizing the white lines as track limits here. I think it's possible the Merc didn't expect the Williams to stick his nose out like that, so I can't really hold them responsible, but that's the thing about simracing: If these were real cars, how incredibly pissed off would the Williams team be at their driver sticking their nose in a corner he was never going to make with any real amount of speed in the first place? I get it could be characterized as a racing incident, but it's the result of a guy playing a video game in which he makes an optimistic dive and hopes for the best, knowing in the back of his mind there are no consequences for putting himself and the Merc in danger of crashing. If this is real life and not F1, your team would absolutely chew you out for such a ridiculous attempt at getting alongside a car in front
I thought this as well but you can see that the front left of the williams was in front of the rear right of the merc when they take the corner, so even if they tried to back off it'd still mean contact. He shouldn't have gone for the move being that far back but by the time the williams noticed the gap closing it was already too late. Feels like a racing incident to me but def a grey area
@@2chickenmama it's no excuse to not know the track...if there is a wall coming up on the outside, and you as the driver on the outside (should) know in that situation that the guy on the inside has every right to take the racing line and ease you off the track, you should know what's going to happen and back out of the move accordingly. I can't see any justification for this being a racing incident. Guy on the outside was never alongside; he just stuck his nose in. That isn't being alongside.

8:08 hey, Jimmy! Hanz here. This game is indeed a mobile game as you predicted. It's called Real Racing 3 by EA. As dumb sounding that name is, I found it a great game to play in 2017. That didn't stop me from enjoying it despite how unstable it was on my moms old phone. Still love it to this day, but it does make me feel a bit sad knowing that not allot of people play or even know about this game. My first ever experience in multi class taught me a ton. I swerved to get out of the way on the back straight of Okayama and crashed into an LMP2 bc they were trying to go around me. Since then I understood just don’t mess with your line let them do their thing.
8:33 U would be surprised Jimmy, some ppl even grip racing competitively in FR Legends, a mobile *drift* game. Nothing at stake but fun but they're serious there's even Qualifying and Championship points
For me, the Williams/Mercedes one at 2:44 is 100% a penalty for the Mercedes. Even if it's rear wheel-to-front wheel, you must give a car's width (and the Williams was actually front wheel to sidepod) - especially if there's a wall. Doesn't matter how difficult the move is for the Williams, racing room is all that matters and it was a stupid thing for the Mercedes to do, expecting the Williams to disappear.
Hey man, this was really good. I actually found it educational AND entertaining. Thanks for not being condescending towards these mistakes. I appreciate that you took my comment on board. This came across really positive, and I liked it :)
3:02 the Williams driver can’t really back out without making contact as his left front is in front of the Merc’s right rear, so if he did back out, he would’ve turned the Mercedes in a very similar way
That's why he should've backed out sooner, or not gone for the move in the first place. he was never gonna make a move arounds the outside from that far back, the impact was inevitable. So it's still 100% his fault.
@@grahamreece519 he wasn’t that far back really, he was already alongside by the turn-in point, and then the entirety of the corner, so in my opinion he had every right to be there. Was it an aggressive move? Kind of, but it was completely fair game, I think I would’ve tried it too if I was in that Williams car.
@@Bartaaron04 I don't know what else to say than that would be foolish. Another part of being a good racer is knowing the track. And anyone who has raced at Baku would know the inherent danger of trying to go around the outside of that corner. This very thing has happened IRL multiple times, and with a long straight just a corner later, it is completely pointless to dive for that move. Just stupid driving.
Here’s what I generally do. Whenever I’m side by side with another car I generally go wider than intended to prevent myself from crashing into it. IF I’m on a straight and want to squeeze the car in to compromise their corner entry I do it slowly and surely. Aggressiveness in racing is not needed when it comes to these kinds of things because it almost always ends badly.

Green Ferrari: oh this car in front is slow and out of control, let's send it down a corner where I have no clue where he's gonna end up It's not a penalty but personal survival is so important in sim racing, you're gonna DNF a lot of races if you contanstantly make moves like that expecting the other driver who has lost control to stay wide.
Everyone please listen to the tip about sticking to your line. There's so many times I plan to go somewhere and someone moves off their line to let me pass but I've already committed to going the way I planned. Usually in multi class people set up to pass a corner before they do so they don't get stuck behind you so if you move off your line you get in their way it can cause them to crash or get a stupid 4x on tracing. Moving off line going down a straight is ok ish but don't do it going through corners especially when they are right behind you if you want to let someone pass don't do it when they are right behind you.
at 8:38 yep thats real racing 3. its where i started in racing games. then eventually moved to forza and later gta after eventually getting an xbox. lowkey pretty decent game. hands down the best mobile racing game impo
2:50 for me, no penalty, but the Merc's at fault. Yes it's the Merc's corner, and yes the Williams isn't going to take him round the outside, but the Merc may aswell "leave-ah the space" for the Williams. At the very least it's just silly from the Merc because he's causing potential danger for no real benefit
I agree, the williams cannot back out by braking, since its front wheel is in front of the mercs rear, so it would have to pull right, but cannot since it is being pushed into the wall
I think your point of view is a big issue of sim racing. IRL it's the William's fault 110%, being behind and on the outside. F1 just stated that to be worthy of space on the outside you need to be at least level. But sim racing keeps ignoring that, 1mm and magically you're entitled to space.
I think the Williams needed to back out a bit earlier in the corner. He forced himself into a bad spot where he wasn’t going to make the pass and couldn’t back out because he was in too tight. Better to concede the corner and try again than take you both out. The Merc had the corner and the line. The Williams wasn’t even along side the Merc, it was on the back quarter and on the outside. Don’t rely on someone else giving you space that you haven’t earned yet.
@@wild_lee_coyote 100% I am sure it was an intense situation we have all been there. But this is when you gotta stay cool and pick your spots. Another quick corner and then there is a brief straight ahead in this track.
Correct me if I misunderstand the rulebook, because I dont watch F1, but Id place blame on the mercedes in the second incident because the williams was significantly alongside before turn-in (and its not like theres no mirrors), so the mercedes driver should have left ample room for the williams to make it through the corner
Personally I’d blame the Williams, that corner naturally creates understeer and the Merc is focusing on the car ahead. If I was the Williams I’d have backed out, it was clear that gap was gonna close. 9 times out of 10 at that corner the car on the outside is gonna be forced out unless their front wheels are alongside each other at minimum.
in f1 it's slightly different I believe, to overtake someone on the outside you have to be fully alongside at the apex, so in f1 it would probably be mercedes at fault.
The game you asked for: Yes its a mobile game called Real Racing 3, im playing it myself actually. If you wanna see some good, fast content of it, i would recommend going to a channel called ME7. The guy makes some eally nice videos, doesnt post that much, if you wanna know more you should watch a video he made about his life story. Really good and emotional video, this man could really use some love from the comunity here.
I still remember my first and only online race in acc. In the last Monza straight somehow 9 cars manged to crash and spin all allong the straight and I could just slowly and safely finish haha
That last incident is something straight out of Nascar. Squeeze or push a driver to pass, they respond with a fuck you by punting you out of their way. And the crowds love it. On another note, I judge your dancing as a "NO"
Merc V Williams @3:00... In Aussie V8s, you have to be up to the other car's B-pillar at least before you can be seen as 'making a genuine move and be given racing space". Up until that point, the car in front owns the corner. If these same rules applied in F1, then the Williams never owned the right to be there at that moment and should have capitulated and written the corner off as a passing opportunity. I realise F1s don;t have B pillars and our rules are different - but my thinking is that the Williams never 'owned' the corner and should have kept his powder dry for the next opportunity.
The amount of times that happens on gt7 and then you get the penalty when you're not at fault makes sport mode discouraging to race in. All it takes is one Muppet
What I notice is that a lot of crashes happen because someone is off line / off track and wants to return to track/ racing line with someone behind overtaking like the guy doesn't exist anymore. Most real crashes happen because both people don't respect each other
The mobile game is Real Racing 3, and while you can't do online races where you can crash into each other, there is some sort of online racing and there are time trials (basically qualy). Those time trials are quite competitive, there are a few where I am ranked quite high (pb is like 350th in 300 000 people or something, almost top 0.1%, which I was pretty pleased about, usually I get to the top 1% quite easily).
3:02 The fact that he literally stuffed his own car into the wall because he didn't want to back out of that turn kinda makes me think he should get the penalty. Instead of letting off and moving out, he ruined both of their races.
I like playing video games. And watching videos of others playing video games. And, apparently, I like watching videos of others watching videos of others playing video games (with others).
Williams isn't enough alongside imo. I think forcing a driver off the track when they are not alongside and on the outside is fair. However, when the outside of the track is a wall, then it isn't smart because it will most likely cause an accident which effects both drivers. Therefore, racing incident is the fairest assessment.
the williams vs merc at around 3:00 min i think the williams was properly aside the mercades and line the merc took left zero room on the outside, to over use a quote "yOU haVe tO Ah lEaVE aH sPaCE"
I feel like the 3:02 incident should probably be ruled a racing incident with fault biased to the Mercedes. This is *mostly* predicated on the principle of "all the time you have to leave the space", which he very much uh... didn't. But on the other hand the Williams had a *long* time to back out of it and didn't. A bit of misplaced faith that the Mercedes wouldn't push him *that* wide, right? They both paid dearly for it anyway, so no penalty would mean much.
i genuinely think racing cars should have horns. maybe with a limited amount of uses but i feel a lot of crashes could be avoided by just ripping one long honky honk on a fella.

I’m just barely getting into sim racing and I’m telling you.. these videos help massively. 😅 I’m definitely gonna just try and stay on a steady nice driving line from now on.
"What beter way to feel better about my driving then to watch others fuck it up spectacularly" 😂😂😂😂😂☠️ the best intro ever keep it up!!!
These are fantastic!!! Keep em coming!!
Green Ferrari: oh this car in front is slow and out of control, let's send it down a corner where I have no clue where he's gonna end up
It's not a penalty but personal survival is so important in sim racing, you're gonna DNF a lot of races if you contanstantly make moves like that expecting the other driver who has lost control to stay wide.
3:45 (BMW & Interlagos) -- I know this corner well, and hate it. The driver definitely got a 1x for being that far over.
Yeah, Williams is stuck, I think the Merc needs to leavuh the space
Enjoying these judge jimmy vids so much.
Hey Jimmer. I just started racing in iracing so maybe one day I’ll see in a race.
I have seen Stephen Bailey in many practice session so it's more likely than you think
Maybe one day we will see you in these videos!
@@roussin_ that's really cool!
I'm yet to get iRacing but I hope I can to join the community
Same, I actually had a few iffy moments in rookie league recently so I was worried Id pop up in this one lol
@@goodmorningkay huge discount on steam recently. it might still be on but i got iracing 12 months subscription for like $35
Always a pleasure watching Judge Jimmer!
That last incident is something straight out of Nascar. Squeeze or push a driver to pass, they respond with a fuck you by punting you out of their way. And the crowds love it.
On another note, I judge your dancing as a "NO"
I missed this so much I was watching the last 2 again and then I see you upload a new one. timing couldn't be more perfect
Dear lord, that cutout of your face.
1:53 a merc hitting a red bull? never in my wildest 2021
My headset was already on to loud, so thanks for the first 5 seconds of the video 😂😂 I'm deaf
The amount of times that happens on gt7 and then you get the penalty when you're not at fault makes sport mode discouraging to race in. All it takes is one Muppet
really good advice on being the slower car and being passed safely, thanks!
Love these style of videos, keep it up! Much love from Kiwi Land 🇳🇿🇳🇿
Second clip,
Jimmer - "It's on the fence a bit."
Me - Well he obviously clipped the wall, of course its on the fence.
you are so different from the first time in watched you. It was fun to watch you . Go for it.
4:21 isnt in gt racing the curb part of the track if not specifically mentioned otherwise?
8:04 That's Real Racing 3, for Android and iOS.
one of the least shite mobile racing game
What I notice is that a lot of crashes happen because someone is off line / off track and wants to return to track/ racing line with someone behind overtaking like the guy doesn't exist anymore. Most real crashes happen because both people don't respect each other
8:35 that was actually my post, and it was real racing 3
I've never seen an incident on Project Cars for the entire time i've been watching this channel
2:30 Neverending Story. Waiting for Murray to read out the grid :)
I love these vids jimmer! Keep it up!!!
3:02 The fact that he literally stuffed his own car into the wall because he didn't want to back out of that turn kinda makes me think he should get the penalty. Instead of letting off and moving out, he ruined both of their races.
I like playing video games. And watching videos of others playing video games. And, apparently, I like watching videos of others watching videos of others playing video games (with others).
i just need hours of this, more please
This content is helps my racing. Thanks!
8:33 The game is Real Racing 3
yet another great video from jerry broadband
3:40 Williams is alongside so merc must leave a car's width imo, which it doesn't
Williams isn't enough alongside imo. I think forcing a driver off the track when they are not alongside and on the outside is fair. However, when the outside of the track is a wall, then it isn't smart because it will most likely cause an accident which effects both drivers. Therefore, racing incident is the fairest assessment.
For f1. To be considered sufficiently alongside during an outside pass, you must be front wheen to front wheel into the braking zone
the williams vs merc at around 3:00 min i think the williams was properly aside the mercades and line the merc took left zero room on the outside, to over use a quote "yOU haVe tO Ah lEaVE aH sPaCE"
Goated series🐐
Really gotta learn to put it on top of the week
I feel like the 3:02 incident should probably be ruled a racing incident with fault biased to the Mercedes.
This is *mostly* predicated on the principle of "all the time you have to leave the space", which he very much uh... didn't. But on the other hand the Williams had a *long* time to back out of it and didn't. A bit of misplaced faith that the Mercedes wouldn't push him *that* wide, right?
They both paid dearly for it anyway, so no penalty would mean much.
I been watching some of your videos form you about this and I feel like I am becoming a better driver by just watching
I genuinely enjoy these vids. Because my god they are hilarious
Love these, keep doing more.
Love that intro
Last clip. That fierce fight to stay of LAST place!
Didn't expect to see some Rr3 action on the channel today, but I guess Jimmer is no snob.
I don’t have a sim or even a console so rr3 is all I play. Nice to see it here lol
F1 Should hire this guy!
Please do this more Jimmy this is great
I kove these sorts of videos, keep them coming mate!
Jimmer, the tune you liked was Giorgio Moroder's Ivory Tower from the Never Ending Story soundtrack.
i genuinely think racing cars should have horns. maybe with a limited amount of uses but i feel a lot of crashes could be avoided by just ripping one long honky honk on a fella.
Flashing lights are used this way on sports cars.
I love these videos! Can't wait to see more
in regards to the wiliams/merc incident. complete racing deal. Williams had to commit though once he hooked the LF tire in the mercs sidepod.
