Just to clarify, in NASCAR the yellow line rule or double yellow line or what have you (line the delineates the apron from the racing surface) is ONLY in effect at Super Speedways. Daytona, Talladega and now Atlanta due to its reconfiguration. On these 3 tracks its an actual rule, no passing below the yellow line. All other ovals its fair game even below the inside line.
Yeah, I don't think that one would have technically been a foul, but he should have known better than to try to make the apron work. That's just asking for trouble.
@@gatling216 the black truck gave the position back right after the pass was made. It also looks like the other truck possibly forced them below the yellow line.
Definitely not the black trucks fault. There was room, the other truck moved off the yellow line for the draft. The only exception are tracks where pack racing happens, like Daytona, Talladega and now - Atlanta. There you're prohibited from putting a tire below the double yellow line to advance your position. 13 had the inside before crossing and the 13 moves over the line after the outside car sways toward them. After the outside car sways, they don't move back up to where they were to give the room back and they hold the middle of that lane. they were originally to the rightmost part of it when 13 took the inside.
The 13 had no right to get back up there as the cars ahead were in that drafting train. What was the 11 supposed to do? Give up the draft and become the meat in a 3-wide sandwich?
@@Grimoire44 The 13 had the room to make that work reasonably, but they got on the apron and lost it, I agree they could have made it out the other side of that, it would have been kinda rude but totally legal.
What I've learned from watching these clips: A lot of sim racers think giving the other driver just their own car width of space is enough. No one seems to be accounting for them locking brakes or missing their line. Everyone seems to think "But I had the line" and so that makes it ok to drive over people's noses and pinch them and give them no room at all. They are trying to completely shut out the other person's momentum and that's just not good racing. Give them room, race them hard, race them clean. It's ok to lose but lose graciously. Don't win being an asshole.
Dude I know what you mean but some people get enough room but they haven't heard of braking or throttle controle. If i give you enough space. Like 1.5/2 car widths than I have dealt my fair playing card. His line is also my line. But when I overtake you with enough space and have my car in front of you in a turn your should brake slightly just to not hit me. Why do you think that formula 1 racing is so agressive...... they ram their cars right in front of you. You have to anticipate upon it and immidiat react to that. You have to give eachother some room. But also if you get overtaken slow a bit down. You have enough corners to overtake them.....
Well I mean u are only entitled to a car width of space, a good driver will always make sure to give the car they are fighting as lttile room as allowed

What I always tell myself before and during a race is to forget everything about winning the race and instead just focus on safely passing the car in front of me. When you try to go for the win you tend to forget about safety because it will require an extraordinary effort to pass several cars, and that means you have to take a lot of risks. Focus on your current position only, and be aware of potential opportunities for overtaking.

Hey, just found your channel last night funnily enough the last episode that you did of this popped into my feed. To be honest I don't know too much about Sim racing, but after seeing a few episodes it definitely has peaked my interest. I don't know if you could make a video about Sim racing and getting into it, or of you already had one that I could watch
@11:15 well one could ALSO (in addition to) argue when you are coming up fast on a car that just spun and is sideways on the track... 90% of the time if they are going to try and get out of the way, they are going to HIT THE GAS AND MOVE FORWARD. Your MUCH better avoidance line, is going BEHIND THE SPUN CAR, NOT IN FRONT!!! Same goes for a walking pedestrian, it will ALWAYS be safer to walk BEHIND the stopped car than in front. Why is this such a hard concept for even experienced racers ?
actually at 14:07 the 13 is not really at fault, they were in the wrong place yes, but it's actually the higher guy moving down on him that causes the issue. He gives less than a car's width, ipso facto, his fault
Just excellent info!! I am by no means a pro sim racer, but to hear the aspects of the rules or code of conduct broken down like this ... I'm soaking it up. Cheers for that. Love the channel mate.
Hi Jimmy. Just a heads up. Seems like someone is impersonating you and trying to scam folks into believing they just won a sim rig. Person would not provide any bit of proof I was chatting to you, which in todays climate, most will understand seems a red flag. Just letting you know.
In the second clip, the white car and the car in front braked at the same time, only the car in front was about 3-4 car lengths ahead. The #20 wasn't brake checked, but they wouldn't have been expecting the white car to brake so early...
I actually really like this series. Love to have your input as to how to improve. Maybe you could do a similar series for other ways to improve? OH! And I just preordered my Team87 hoodie!
In regards to the truck wreck. That track is Talladega, one of 2 superspeedways in the NASCAR lineup. Superspeedways have a very important rule, DO NOT go below the yellow line, In the straight its not as much of a problem but on the banking, those have in excess of 30 degrees and you put one wheel on that and its hang on cause you're going for a ride.
I totally feel you on the arm injury, I dislocated my thumb doing a run in Dirt Rally 2.0 on stream. I had to put a steering wheel knob on my rig so I could still play in automatic mode. xD
8:45 Taking more control or initiative in your racing. Giving too much control to the other driver will always give them moves that might feel like they're in the wrong. Learning to control the opponents position since you do you the control going into if you control the amount of space he has ect. Giving space just give him the opportunity to do moves and allows for unpredictable racing.
10:39 I had a wreck like that irl once, (enduro racing with average daily drivers, i was in a blue buick) I was in the spun out cars position. I emedietly held the brakes to stop myself, and when I came to a stop I had just enough time to look left at oncoming traffic and see a purple chevy hit my driver door at about 50 mph. No idea how i walked away but I'm glad i did. Ps. The video of the full race is on my channel
If the track and map didn't give away where 10:53 happened, the Zippo sign sure did, at least to me. You tend to notice when the biggest company in your hometown shows up, and Zippo does a lot of sponsorship at the Glen.
16:30 I'd actually say the blame goes to the Ferrari. The Red Bull behind wants to finish ahead on track, even if the Ferrari has 9 seconds of penalties already. But considering what the Ferrari did to the Red Bull out of the final corner, I would've thought the guy in the Ferrari was perhaps trying to take out the Red Bull by forcing them to run into the barrier, and since the gap behind that Red Bull to the car behind it is 16 seconds (more than 9), they'd win the race, assuming they didn't get penalised for it.
It’s always the other persons fault, even if it’s your fault, just say it’s the other persons to feel good about yourself
*"I think Ericsson hit us"*

Great video Jimmer! Wish your arm speedy recovery. Look forward to next video. Keep them coming
13 could use a lesson from Larry Mac. Treat double line as a wall
I agree, it was the other guy coming down on him that started everything. They probably would have wrecked alone too, but got taken out first.
@@coast2coast00 agreed
Just excellent info!! I am by no means a pro sim racer, but to hear the aspects of the rules or code of conduct broken down like this ... I'm soaking it up. Cheers for that. Love the channel mate.
Hi Jimmy. Just a heads up. Seems like someone is impersonating you and trying to scam folks into believing they just won a sim rig.
Person would not provide any bit of proof I was chatting to you, which in todays climate, most will understand seems a red flag.
Just letting you know.
Thanks for the new "MotorCourt"? Video. Either way, one of my favorite things you do.
In the second clip, the white car and the car in front braked at the same time, only the car in front was about 3-4 car lengths ahead. The #20 wasn't brake checked, but they wouldn't have been expecting the white car to brake so early...
With the Road America incident, the funny part is the Ferrari is braking in what is now a flat out corner.
I love these kinds of videos. Broughy used to do this but sadly stopped for some reason
Ps. The video of the full race is on my channel
this is great! please more of this!
I used to play allot of racing car games way back, so was nice to watch a video like this
Loving these videos, and what u said at 8:40 made a lot of sense
Love this series/format, keep it up :)
That last one was some crazy good close F1 racing for online sim racing actually. Rare to see that without getting effed by internet/netcode
Shoutout to the Persona 4 music playing in the background!
This is my favorite new mini series!
10:52 on my line?!?!😂😂😂😂😂😂
3:55 was definitely intentional
Im new and im already happy, using music from Persona 4, hell yea
i love this intro its just cool pictures, and then "ROCK"
If the track and map didn't give away where 10:53 happened, the Zippo sign sure did, at least to me. You tend to notice when the biggest company in your hometown shows up, and Zippo does a lot of sponsorship at the Glen.
I randomly decided to watch this and the first clip you reviewed is my submitted video xd. I did not expect it hahaha
Back at it again with the Pearl Blue Soul Ridge Racer Type4 Soundtrack. Makes my day :) sounds like a remix tho
That project cars Indy incident is a classic example of why you don't try to go around the front of a crashed/stationary car in online racing.
I love these videos, keep 'em up Jimmer!
We need more these videos are interesting and are helping me learn stuff so I can prevent mistakes
This 100% should be a series, just a quick review of each crash easy p z
Great video series, Judge Jimmy is always fun to watch.
8:06 very Stroll-esque by the AR
In the first video the guy clearly sideswiped out of spite 🤣
After the dive bomb of the millennium. Whole clip was just an example of how not to race
That's going in the Sim Racing Smooth Brainer List
"He just turned into me man"
YESS! Another episode, I'm so glad :D
keep these coming :) theyre great!
