- BPB Dirty LA is a FREE compressor VST plugin inspired by the LA2A vintage limiting amplifier. We added our own twist by implementing one of our Dirt algorithms for added saturation and grit.

BPB Dirty LA works great as a compressor for individual audio channels and stereo buses. You can use it to compress drums, bass, vocals, and the entire mix.

3:57 Glad to be a part of this! I'd love to feature it on my channel, but for those who aren't familiar I only cover plugins that are free for Mac and PC in VST, AU, and AAX. From what I hear - unfortunately on a phone by now - it sounds really promising, thanks a lot. Listening to the drum beat content I got the impression it could win from an optional high pass filter in the detector signal in an update, it seems to react to the kick drum quite heavily.
Thanks for the suggestion! We are working on a "Plus" version of this plugin which will implement some additional features, including a sidechain.

Based on my studio shootout, I am very interested in freewares and am comparing them to paid ones (UAD, ACUSTICA, WAVES, IK, and so on). I was very surprised by how this plugin has better compressor action in comparison to my existing plugins and is identical to my Hardware unit.

@@bpblog we don't share the same concept of what "free" is I guess. Free : I click, I get the plugin (the dll in a zip file, not an exe to install..) Not free : you click, you give your email, you get the plug 😆 (most probably an exe^^) 🤗
