I did bubble paper too. But I learned that you blow the bubbles and sit paper on water and the bubbles attach to the paper. The bubble shape just somehow shows up.very cool.
I did that too. Barbara showed how to make them.
That's right... Barbara made bubbles with a straw.
I have to try this.
@@kathleenking7438 it's fun and addicting. Lol
Sometimes we just need to let our inner child come out and play. Great job and tutorial on the fun and messy process; love the bubble effects!😊
Thanks, I really appreciate that Linda 👍🤓💜🤗
Excellent! Thanks for doing the "mad scientist" experiments and sharing what works! The video is so informative and moves along a a perfect pace. I appreciate the written instructions and permission to screen shot.
.....aww, that's so lovely of you. I really appreciate your feedback, it helps me a lot to know that I'm kind of on the right lines here 🤓👍🥰💜
Sounds like you found a wonderful doable technique for getting that vintage look on papers. Also, I really like the journal cards you showed us. They are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Oooh thanks Joan. I wasn't sure about sharing the cards, but I enjoyed making them so much I thought I would! Really appreciate your lovely feedback! 👍🥰🌿
Greetings Joie, Fabulous, Fantastic, Creative Fun, can't wait to try this, Thank you! Enjoy your weekend!🥰💕
Fantastic!!!!!💜
Fun and easy process! My grandson loved helping me make bubble papers! TFS the inspiration!
Hehe, that sounds great Gail!👍🤓💜
Oòoo love it , who would have even thought paint shower gel & glue . That's why we have YOU ! 👩🎨🎉🇦🇺🤸♀️
Haha, meaning I'm a bit mad 🤣🤣🤣🤓💜 but jolly happy when I'm playing like this 👍 Thanks so much for popping by to watch!!💕
@@joiedefi cheers 👩🎨
Bless You for the Pinterest lists for us! I so enjoy the process of aging papers!
Fantastic!💜🤓
I just did a bunch of tea dying and dried them outside. My friend weed wacked and sprayed grass clippings all over them and it was a beautiful effect when dried! Happy accident!! I definitely will try the paint and bubbles next time!
That's pretty cool! Might try that myself! Thx for sharing 😊
Sounds great!!👍🤓💜
ALL my painting supplies are from ARTEZA, beautiful quality and variaty of paints. All my paintings turn out beautiful. I will definetly use them on paper now too, thank you💐💐💐
You're very welcome 🤓💜👍
Oh gosh this is one of my favourite ways to dye papers. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
You're very welcome!!🤓💜👍
I really love the cards you made using the papers
They're a little addictive too Toni, thanks so much!!🤓👍💜
Thanks Joie. 🌷🌷🌷
Thanks Lucy!🤓💜
I loved watching this style video, and getting to really put a face with the sweet voice!
💜💜💜🤓👍
Looks like a ton of fun with a great outcome.
Definitely!!🤓💜👍
Awesome tutorial! I love the bubbles! Great job! Thank you for sharing! God bless! Love hugs and prayers my friend! ✝️😇💜🤗🙏✝️
You're very welcome
That is ingenious! I will love playing with this process.
Fantastic
The PVA is a much cheaper alternative to glycerin in order to hold the bubbles for that gorgeous effect. This is a great technique that looks like so much fun to do. I like messy. ☺️ It is also a great way to salvage paper that didn't quite turn out the way they should have. The end product is beautiful. By the way, your work is just exquisite. I just subscribed to your channel and I am exceedingly impressed with your tutorials and all the outcomes. Thank you! 😍
Aww, thanks so much Rebecca! Welcome to my channel, welcome to the family 💜🤓👍
@@joiedefi thank you Joie! I'm having a lot of fun doing your soft master boards with the crayons and wax today. The video did not do that technique justice. It is gorgeous! 🥰 It's only noon here (I'm in San Francisco, CA) and I've already made four that are almost completely dry and ready to use. Also, thanks for the tip about wood glue and regular glue mixture. I'm noticing that there isn't much warpage on the paper. Have a beautiful weekend. 😊❤️
Your voice is just perfect for listening! Say "bubbles" again, lol!! (There are some u-tubers I don't even watch due to their voice). Thanks for another useful idea! You're the best.
Here we are, are you ready??? "Bubbles!!" 🤣🤣👍🤓💜
What a fabulous way of aging the papers Joie, and lots of fun too! 😀
Hehe, indeed 🥰👍
How wonderfully creative! While I do like tea dying, the colors, contrasts, and textures on these papers are just scrumptious. And, again you come to the rescue. I'm now in the midst of doing a dragon themed journal and need some truly antiquated looking papers. So, off I go to my craft room.😁
Fantastic!!!!! Dragon! That's different 🤓💜👍
A dragon themed journal sounds awesome 😊!
I absolutely love this video. I'm a hands on kinda gal and this was super fun. I believe I will be doing this tomorrow on my day off. Let the inner child come out to play.
Absolutely!!💜🤓👍
Brilliant idea of adding the glue to the bubbles💜🐞
💜🤓👍
Thank you for sharing! I would not have known the bit of using the glue to help the bubbles stick
It does seem to make a difference.
Ooooh a messy kinda fun! Thanks for sharing this with us
You're very welcome
Love this idea, instead of doing tea dying. Must try this! Thanks Joie for sharing..🥰
You're very welcome Ali, great to meet you!!🤓💜👍

Thanks Ellen!!🤓💜
Wow, these turned out so cool!!! Thanks for sharing, so FUN!!! xo

This is a great alternative for those who don't care for the coffee smell! Thank you for sharing!
You're very welcome!!👍🤓💜
I did the bubble paper Barbara showed us. It was fun. My 6 year old great grandson saw me and wanted to blow the bubble. We had a good time. They turned out so cool. Love your ideas. 🤗🤗👍💙
So much fun!!👍💜🤓
Good idea using the glue in the mixture, Joie. The resulting papers have a lovely deep, lush colour and texture to them. 👍😍
Thanks!!🤓💜👍
Love your hints and ideas! Nice papers☮️💟
Thanks so much!🤓👍💜
Wow, that is really nice. Hope to try this soon.

I have always loved everything that you do! Your art is so amazing and beautiful! You have so must to share I’ve learned a lot from you Joie! Keep on helping all of us! ❤❤
I love the way you say bubbles. I’m in VA, and we say it a little bit different. I’m going to have a bit of a play tomorrow. I’ll be experimenting with purple tomorrow.
You do have some enticing techniques! Must try this one! Love a bit of messy play and the results are super!
Definitely!!👍🥰🤣🤣

Fantastic tutorial. Thanks for doing all the hard groundwork and then sharing your process! You are such a great teacher!
💜 thanks so much!🌿
This is a great method! I Will try it for sure and maybe add different things on it like tiny splash if ink or various things like rice, candy toping for cakes or plants or whatever comes to my mind. Thanks for the very useful tutorial. I love them all anyway. I learn a lot from you 😊😊
Oooh I love your suggestions!!!!🤓💜💜💜👍
Great tips throughout this video. Thank you. The idea of adding those extra bubbles at the end is great. 😊
Thanks very much!❤️
SO glad I happened upon your channel - you make such lovely, inspiring videos!
I really appreciate that, thanks for the lovely feedback!🤓💜
They're lovely Joie. I also get some really nice dyed papers by using my dirty paintbrush water lol 😄💚
Aaah what a great method!!🤗👍💜
I love messy, arty fun. It's right up my alley. I can't wait to have a go at this project! Thanks for another great video.
You're very welcome TJ 💜👍
I dyed a few sheets of paper today and wasn't happy with the results. I decided to set it aside for another day and work on a topper for a journal. Looked up junk journal cover ideas and this video was the second one listed. I'm back to doing the papers now. Thank you for sharing this idea. I love it. 💜💜
Hooray!!! I'm delighted. I'm about to do another batch myself. I saved the surplus painty liquid. Going to refresh with more bubbles and have a go at round 2. Have fun Texas, and thanks for popping by to watch!!🥰👍
I'm glad I've got to see this before I do my next batch of papers and messy is fun...lol
Lol 🤓👍💜
Love to watch the process in making and all the tips tfs Joie❤

You're very welcome Joan, welcome to my channel!🤓👍💜
Great video.
Thanks Lucy!💜
What fun, Joie! Love a little messy play and fabulous results to boot! Thanks for sharing this wonderful technique! Love and hugs to you, dear Joie! ❤️
Thanks Gayle, I enjoyed watching your video this week stamping on all those bits of book page. Curiously relaxing...( and a lot less messy 🤣🤣). Hugs, Joie 💜🤓👍
Wow what a clever idea. I love your outcome with all the tiny little bubbles. I think the turquoise are teal would be absolutely gorgeous splattered on that. I would love to try it but I really don't have a place big enough. But I'm going to put my thinking cap on and try to figure out a way. I love the journal cards that you made with it they are beautiful
Maybe do it with smaller pieces 😁👍❤️
that's amazing. I do love dyeing paper & fabric. I remember artymase do bubble water with ink. I happened to mention it to my sister in law she had the grandbabbies the next day so she had a go with them with food colouring they loved it ^ the papers were fabulous.
That's brilliant Ann. Lovely to hear about your activities!!🥰👍💜
Hi Joie! This us such a fun project! I am very interested in trying the glue to increase the bubble elasticity. You always think way outside the box! ❤
Great to chat with you Laura, I'm really pleased that you enjoyed this!!👍🤓💜
Lovely stuff! Miss you ❤May you be well
I am barely into the video and have already done a thumbs up. I watched Barbara’s video and was impressed. I’ll try it eventually. I’m in the middle of making a travellers notebook for the first time. I’ll finish it next week after we return from our family reunion.
Fantastic!!!🤓👍💜
Looks like a lot of fun .
Indeed 🤓👍💜
Very useful video
Thanks Sherry!!🤓👍💜
Made the Bible paint just using dishwasher detergent and water. Took a straw and blew the bubbles to get as many as you want. Did summer art classes with envelops many yrs ago
Thank you, Joie, for this brilliant process! Can’t wait to try it! As always, you’re making Solid Gold out of nothing! Clever, my friend!
Hehe, thanks so much 🤓🤓🤓💜👍

So fun and inspiring! Things like this ARE so satisfying! I can’t wait to try this technique! Thanks for the wonderful tutorial!🥰
You're very welcome!🤓💜
Love it - I sprinkled rock salt crystals on the paper while it was wet - it absorbs some of the colour and leaves interesting effect
Fantastic!!👍🤗💜
Well I now know what I'll be up to this weekend! Thank you for all the great ideas you share with us.
You're very welcome!!💜👍🤓
Great idea and it looks such fun. Definitely going to have a go and have a play. Thanks so much for sharing. Xxx
Hooray!!! Maybe wear gloves or use a stick to stir LOL 🤣🤣👍💜🤓
Great Ideas, as always
Thank you❤️🥰🙏🏻
You're very welcome!🥰
I mix clear glue into my homemade mica spray. Love that bubble effect! Definitely going to try your ideas!
That's awesome!!👍💜
I'm going to make some more with book pages. ..adding more items to the water
👍😊💜🤗🤗🤗
This is too much fun Joie! And the results are so cool! You were definitely having fun, weren't you!
I was 🤭🤭🤭👍🤓💜
I love getting messy with food dyes, coffee and my favourite, avocado dye
Good fun isn't it Angie 🤓👍💜
Loved this idea. Can’t wait to try it. Thank you.
That's great Janie!!👍🤓💜
The glue does make a difference!
Definitely!👍💜
Hi This is awesome!! I tried it this weekend. Not exactly like you did but brown, yellow paint and red sparkle glue and shampoo. Love the bubble idea. It came out so cool with the bubbles and sparkles... thank you for this super duper fantastic Idea. So much more creative then just using tea bags and coffee. I put them on bin lids and let them dry over night. I am so excited!! I can't wait to experiment with other colors. Thank you!! 🖌💕🤗🌻
That sounds fabulous!!🥰👍
oh how fun 🤩! i’ve got to do this! thank you for this!
You're very welcome 🤗
This is so cool! I LOVE making a mess and I can just imagine how much fun I can have with this! I made Barbara's bubble papers, several batches, and was bummed when the bubbles didn't stay around for longer. I did scoop up some bubbles on a spoor and carry them to the paper but then the more I struggled to get them off the spoon, the more they popped. It never occurred to me to use PVA glue to make them stay (I had to smile cuz my dad was a chemical engineer - HE would have figured it out!).
Just like you, I love drying my papers on big fluffy towels because of the hills and valleys and the resulting puddles of color on the paper, and I like laying the papers on each other too, for the lighter/darker effect and the crisp lines between the two shades of brown (or whatever color). If I didn't have my jammies on I'd gather my supplies and have a go but since I am ready for sleep I'll set my sights on tomorrow. Can you imagine how fast the paper will dry in the California desert heat? I like to dye papers in the summertime to last me well into the winter and I still have room in my paper box, so perhaps the pile that results from this adventure will top it off. This is gonna be fun! Thanks my Joie! Love and bubbles, Ems ❤🧼🤗🏜🤗🧼❤
I found Barbara's bubble papers worked really well; I made sure to *skim the underside of the paper over the top of the bubbles,* no "pressing" at all, this seemed to keep the bubbles on there longer. And blowing some more bubbles through the straw to reinvigorate the bubble effect. I used acrylics and also some food dye in a matching colour (was going for one shade of blue at the time, rather than mixing the colours to reproduce a coffee dyed effect). Got some great "prints". With the remnants in the tray, I scrunched up some lace, dabbed it into the colour mix, and "blotched" it onto more clean paper, like a random "block printing" effect. Also used some old cloth, all scrunched up, like a block print as well. Used some cut off of an old sponge for the very last dregs. All of them worked to create randomized patterns. Wondering if some gelatin mixed into the solution would keep the bubbles going longer too? but otherwise, very gentle slow skim over the top of the bubbles worked. Will try again using PVA glue, because it was so much fun.
Can you explain your process for Barbara’s bubble dying? I have tried and tried but I cannot for the life of me get it to work.
Gaahh I live in MI...I better hurry!!
@@judynilsen7041 I used a large bowl, so there was plenty of surface area. Water, quite a bit of dishwashing detergent, mixed in acrylic color; decided to add some food dye to make it more intense (for my purposes); all mixed well, and used a silicon straw to blow big bubbles. At first I lowered the paper onto and a little into, the bubbles and water mix, but that didn't work well. Doing that, I was popping the bubbles before they could form any pattern. So I gently skimmed the underside of the paper onto the bubbles and put the paper down, bubble side up, straight away. That seemed to work much better. Because there were still bubbles on the paper when they popped, the pattern came out. Kind of slide the paper across the bubbles only, not lowering the paper into the water at all. Be quick to turn the paper bubble side up and set it down...The first few I did didn't work very well either. Big bubbles needed, so put the straw just under the surface every now and then; occasionally I'd put the straw deeper into the mix to get the color up top again. Trial and error.
@@judynilsen7041 I'll try... start with a dark DARK coffee mixture and add a couple healthy squeezes of dish soap. Get your papers next to the bowl of the solution, get a straw, and blow into it like when you were a kid blowing bubbles in the milk. Keep blowing to the point of nearly overflowing then quickly grab a sheet of paper and lay it gently on top of the bubbles. When you lift the paper - it happens right away, no need to wait - you'll see the bubble circles you're after. If you want more just put the paper down again and keep on that way until you are happy with the results. If you need more bubbles just grab your straw and blow again to make more. When that sheet is done lay it on a surface to dry and carry on. Lemme know if that helps! It's a fun technique with cool results! Good luck! MK
Thank you Joie! This was interesting and looks like a lot of fun! Perfect play to do out in the garden and trusting the sun do the drying for you. If I had kids I would let them to play with this! Happy crafting and ♥
Happy crafting to you too!!!👍🤓💜💜💜
Great tutorial! Thank you for sharing. ❤
You're very welcome 🤗
I did a dozen pages after I watched Barbara's video. I found scooping up bubbles with a large spoon or my hands worked best for me. I used instant coffee. I still love coffee dyed papers the best. I did a few with blue dye too. But I think adding glue is great idea, so bubbles with last longer.
I like using coffee cuz papers dont stick together. But I want to try paint and get some more colors.
I'm fine with messy projects. I will try this with glue next time. I will need more coffee dyed papers soon. I'm excited to try this with glue. Some of my bubbles popped too soon and I only got light circles. So this is great. Thanks for another fantastic video.
Austin,TX USA
That's exactly it, my bubbles were also popping early. The glue definitely helped. Thanks so much Barbara!!🤓👍💜
Just a note on the mica spray, i put a bit of liquid hair spray in it to allow the color to stick! Thank you for sharing these techniques it awseome and i cant wait to try them out!
I just love this technique! I’m going to pick up some paint and give this a try ! Thank you Joie!🦋
Fantastic tutorial!!! I will need to try this for technique!🙂
Splendid!! Thanks so much for popping by to watch!🥰👍
❤Thank you. These are so beautiful. God bless you. So beautiful
You're very welcome 🤗
Thanks for sharing! I love coffee dyed paper but the lingering coffee smell, not so much. This is a great alternative!
Splendid, thanks very much!!👍🥰
You are amazing!
Cheap instant coffee would be cheaper if you are on a tighter budget. Also, as kids, our mother would put some dish soap into a bowls of water and gave us each a straw so we could blow bubbles, for fun. We had fun blowing bubbles overflowing. So I would suggest using a long straw to get more bubbles & large ones too, with practice
Great tips!!🤓💜👍
This looks like a lot of messy fun lol! Love splatting paint on paper. Love the journaling cards 💚☺️
Awesome!!💜🤓👍
