I always have yards muslin in my sewing room that might work. After tearing into large squares for this activity, they could be hung to dry and used in altered books or sewing projects!

I use a cheap dollar tree litter box when dying like this. Keeps them and mess contained. I just let them dry in there then iron later. Easy clean up.

I love that you’re doing this with coffee. It takes me back to my faux finishing days. This is called rag rolling. Brilliant that you stumbled upon it. There’s also “reverse” rag rolling where you spread wet paint and do this with a dry rag. Thanks for taking it to a new level. 💗

People in the old days rolled the rags into roses. And they did it to their walls like fake wall paper. I did this to my verandah floors. People though I had tiled it looked so good with gloss house paint.

Pam, I can’t tell you how much I cringed watching you dump that water with those expensive inks in them. Get some mason jars and save that water for future paper dying sessions! Oh, and try cutting the bottom off of a bunch of celery...it makes a great “stamp” to make roses! Coffee with Pam was great this morning...thank you!

What a trip! I used to do faux finishes for a living! I actually had my own company called Wallscapes. The minute I laid eyes on the first one, I was triggered! Hint: For a different look, try a sea sponge. Keep rotating the sponge to avoid identical spots. This was great. Also, a light color paint over dark paper. Cool!

Hey Pam I love this idea I'm going to try it tonight and also I love Kieran the birds in the background even with my headphones on I guess you have people that don't enjoy hearing them but I do I hate it when you have to shut the door and then we can't hear them

Loved this video. One of my favorite things to do is to dye fabric and paper. I used pan pastels last time with muslin and got interesting effects. The pastels didn't dissolve well with water but I rubbed it into the fabric and got different intensity of rich color.

I am definitely going to do this...I bought a ton of ‘Stampin Up’ re-inker that I am going to try this. Of course I have my instant coffee and boxes of tea bags from our Amish Store. I also busted my butt to Walmart to buy the flour sack dish towels a while ago. I am on my way to the kitchen...thank you. BTW I am going to try to cut one of the towels in 3rds for the later dyeing or to cut up for cluster or ya know...things...lol. Thank you 😊

Me too! I have every color they came out with a few years ago. I signed up to be a demonstrator just to get the 25% discount. I bought all the ink pad and re inkers to go with them.

Hi Pam its lovely. I had sort of a similar effect by putting sprayed wet coffee or ecodyed paper in between of white paper. The chalk paint looks nice but over here it's 46 euro's for a tiny bit. Thank you.
By the way, do you have an idea why I get 8 advertisementvideos in your 23 minute video? I never had that before. Byebye now

I haven't used a rag but I love it- I have soaked papers in re-inkers for my ink pads, paints, Easter dyes for eggs, and food coloring..tea and coffee. I love the idea of the rags- now to rob the husbands t shirt drawer LOL
