  • I'm finally back online after 2 weeks of no internet!
As for the dyeing with acrylic paint, I have no recipe, it's just a feel, if I think it's too dark, I add more water, and if I think it's too light, I add more paint.
You can also dye fabric with this method, have fun!!

i AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE COME ACROSS THIS VIDEO! I wasn't looking forward to all that goes into avocado dying. Using pink paint looks a whole lot less time consuming! Thank you!

Hi Rosalyn, it's so easy! You will get a light and dark side, the dark side will be the one that faces up.
Just experiment with the amount of water and paint. Thanks for stopping by, en een goede dag nog!! 🙂

Does this dye paper or just color the surface? Thanks

Hi Jo, because it is water based, the dye will go through the entire paper but that depends how long the paper is submerged.
When laid out to dry, the top dries first, so most of the dye/paint will wick to the top and will therefore make the top of the paper darker than the back of the paper.
I hope this answers your question? Have a great day!

I have some pages that are yellow and i want to dye them to be more brown. The one thing im scared of is if the color comes out quickly, especially if i get a page wet again.

Hi Abdullah, thank you for the question. The thing with acrylic paint is that it is water proof once it has dried. So the paint won't come off again when wet.
The other thing I can suggest is dying the pages with coffee, that also is not coming out anymore (but then again, not everybody likes the smell of that).
I hope this helps and that you are successful in dyeing the pages the colour you want. Have a great day!!

    What paper should we use?

    • @geesjebaron
      @geesjebaron  2 роки тому +1

HI Jasmine, any paper will do, here I used regular copy paper.
It also depends if you want to use it for a certain project, if using cardstock, leave it in the dye bath a bit longer.
I hope this helps, have a great day!!

Can we try it with poster paints?

I'm sure you can use any paints that you have, make sure to mix it with a small amount of water so the paint gets mixed equally with the water, then you can add more water to it so you have a good amount to dye your paper with.
Experiment with the amount of paint to water, more water makes lighter paper.
Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!!

Hi, I'm sorry that the result didn't show up on camera as I hoped, but it is there, with the lighting it is hard to see.
I encourage you to try it out anyway.
      Thanks for the feedback.

Needs to soak for 10 min.

I don't soak the papers for 10 minutes, they get very fragile and might tear. Depending on the strength of the dyebath, as in how much paint vs water, I usually get the paper wet and remove it after maximin of 30 seconds and then set to dry.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!
