I love all three of bottled in bond the Bourbon, the Whiskey And the Rye
Blinds are great. Everyone’s palate is different and it was fun to watch both your preferences. 🥃
This was a fun flight to do. I thought going into the flight the Single Barrel was going to come out on top for both of us. I guess 2nd is close enough.
Loved the graphics to follow along
Thanks! I had to do something different because the last time my sister and I did a flight it was a disaster of a reveal and very hard to follow.
Yes I saw it. I didn’t think it was as bad as the comments made it seem. But this was definitely a major improvement and it made it that much more helpful and enjoyable to watch. Keep up the great work! Hoping for more scotch blinds.
Love love love that 10 year batch 3!!!
I liked it a lot as well, but was pleasantly surprised with the single barrel select. Readily available and at a great price.
Spit it back out! LMAO. I agree on doing blind flights, love doing them!
Blind flights are a great way to define your palate. My other brother-in-law is notorious for drinking first without a cheers and we give him shit all the time for drinking before anyone has a drink in their hands.
5:14…… no eye contact….. come on MB……. Hahaha! Love flight fights. Glad you are doing them.
This Friday bottle battle is going to be interesting. Stay tuned. It's not a flight fight, but shocking results non the less.
@@whiskeyisajourney. You always bring interesting content for sure… keep it up
When MB said “almost said F Yes” I thought “one of us! one of us!” Hahaha
I wonder with MB's wine 🍷 background, if a flight of sherry, wine, and port finished/aged whiskys might be a worthwhile exploration...
I think she would like that.
That sounds amazing to me!!! We may just have to do that one Friday! Thanks for the suggestion! Cheers!
The barrel proofs are phenomenal!
They certainly are. Cheers!
It’s almost like you two
know each other
Thanks for the video not really a bourbon drinker but enjoy watching You two
We might know one another just a little bit. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
I don’t even know this guy! He just pays me to say I’m his sister. 🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic flight guys. Kudos to you Mary Bridget. YOU ARE A WHISKEY DRINKER..!!! 👋🥃
Even though I prefer JD ryes, the Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey is my favorite out of this group.
I think the single barrels are the way to go. Easy to find, great flavor and good price. Cheers!
Thanks! I guess if I'm drinking whiskey, I'm technically a whiskey drinker. I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing, but I've come a long way since the first video. I guess that's why they call it a Journey! Do you prefer ryes overall, or just with JD? Cheers!
Hey thanks so much for the Samples got them today during band practice awesome win thanks again
Cool. Please let me know what you think of them when you taste them. Congratulations!
@@whiskeyisajourney Tried the Barrel 034 love it Trying the JD Rye now , I new to Rye but I like it a lot
Wahoo, this all looks tasty. Yum 😋
It was a fun flight! Cheers!
I was excited this popped into my feed today because I picked up a a Single Barrel Select bottle yesterday for the first time, and have had all the others in the past. I think that bottle is slept on for $40 bucks.
The single barrel select coming in 2nd for both of us says a lot about how balanced it it. Cheers!
Great video. Love to see you both in these Friday flights. Almost like a contrast between newer vs more experienced people in their whiskey journey. I have a theory that Peter being further along in his journey is looking for something a little more "funky" and that's why he gravitated towards the more unique poor. 🤷 Anyway, also love the idea of whoever wins the contest posting their results. Hopefully it's me and my 2 best whiskey buddies 🤞
It's very interesting to see the difference. I was surprised that we had several of them in the same spots. I commented to him after the video that we should redo this flight in 6 months to see if my tastes have changed. I'm sure they will. Good luck on the giveaway! Cheers!
I am pulling for you. I have you down for 1 entry in July. Good luck!
Thanks!
Good luck! I have you down for 1 entry in July.
To me Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select never disappoint great price and great proof at 94. 👍🏻🥃◼️Old No.7 to me is only good for a hot summer day on the rocks or mixed with Coke.
This was the first time I ever had the single barrel select. I was pleased with the results. Great taste at a good value. Cheers!
It would of been cool to see what Mary would of thought about Jack Daniels Sinatra. My non-whiskey drinking friends love it, but I find for me I prefer the JD10 and JS sib. I do like JD triple mash, and it would be interesting to see where it lands for me blind. Great roundup!
I thought about picking up a bottle of the Sinatra but decided not to. That's too many bottles of Jack.
I just might have to add that to my “try” list. Thanks!
Nice blind review! JD 10yr is a nice pour and the single barrel select is a great under 40.00 dollar bottle! Personally I don’t like the triple mash:) Cheers!
I think the single barrel select is a great option if you can't find or don't want to hunt the 10.
Would love to see knob creek series
At least 9yr, single barrel & 12yr 💪🏻
Normally Jack Daniels bonded wins for me, but the OG 1 liter bottle seem to be better than 70cl release. 🤔
The Knob Creek First Friday Flight Fight is on the list of flights to do. I should have it in 2024. Cheers!
For the Single Barrel, I get banana bread instead of Runts. I haven't have the Triple Mash or the 10 year yet. I saw a batch 2 10 year about 9 months ago, but they were asking $120 for it, plus Washington's grab-your-ankles-tax. It was a pass for me. Hope that wasn't too big of a mistake.
I think 120 it too much, but if you never see it and you have it in the budget I think eventually I would pay that. That's just me.
I had an Ohio pick SBBP that was sooooo banana that it detracted from my experience unfortunately.
This is unfortunate. Too much banana is not good.
Jdsbbp rye is the goat! Cheers!
I agree. I could not put it into this flight. It would have stuck out too much.
Ok….I’m not hip with the kids. What exactly is a goat in this reference??? I only know them as great cheese makers! Well, not the ACTUAL makers, cuz that would just be too darn cute!! 🐐🧀
Great video…Blinds are the true test…I have often thought about buying coloured glen cairns once I get more experience under my belt….or tongue should I say. btw, I am headed to Phoenix next week from Canada, any retailers you recommend for hard to find scotch. I think I remember you mentioning Trevors and AJ’s but not sure if they were just nearby you or retailers with great selections. I also sent you a DM through instagram but maybe you don’t reply to those, not sure. All good… appreciate the clear honest reviews😊
I would hit Trevor's liquor while you are here. They have 3 locations in the valley so if you have a chance I would hit all 3 along with any total wine locations. I did not see any DM through IG. Did you send it to Whiskey Is A Journey?
@@whiskeyisajourney I sent DM to whiskey_is_a_journey….hopefully that’s right
@@whiskeyisajourney yes on june 25th
I guess IG won’t let me send another message until invite is accepted
@@whiskeyisajourney with a couple of underscores in between words
Thanks!
Best of luck! I am going to feel bad if you don't win in June and or July. You are consistently supporting the channel and I'm extremely appreciative of that.
Happy to support the channel as you and Mary Bridgett do a great job. Really enjoy watching.
