HX Stomp Step Beyond
The HX Stomp™ amp and effects processor may be used as a “super stompbox,” a backup or travel rig, an add-on tone expander with other modelers, an audio interface-or a complete guitar or bass rig. Although compact in size, it delivers the same professional-grade sound quality and authentic HX® Modeling found in our market-leading Helix® processors.

FENDER '65 DELUXE REVERB
The mid-'60s Deluxe Reverb is a timeless Fender classic and one of the most indispensable workhorse guitar amps ever made. Moderately powered and producing a full, snappy and crystalline tone revered in studios from Muscle Shoals to Abbey Road and on stages worldwide, it's a must-have tone machine. Today, the '65 Deluxe Reverb is still one of the coolest amps around, with the fantastic sound and vintage mid-'60s style still prized by rock, blues and country players everywhere. A classic then and a classic now.
FEATURES
22 watts
12” Jensen® C-12K speaker
Two channels (normal, vibrato)
Four inputs (two normal, two vibrato)
Tube-driven Fender reverb and tremolo (“vibrato”)
Simply put, there’s really nothing quite like the pure, powerful sound of a Fender tube amplifier. For decades, the tonal richness and touch-sensitive dynamics of real tubes have given Fender amps a defining and unmistakable voice, as heard on most professional recordings and performances of the past 60 years-the music you’ve known your whole life.
SPRING REVERB
Among their many fine sonic attributes, Fender guitar amps like this one are prized in particular for their luscious spring reverb. For that wet, shimmering ambient sound ranging from subtle to cavernous, Fender lets you dial it in exactly to taste.
TREMOLO
Rich, pulsating tremolo in any shade from subtle to stupendous is simply part of Fender’s guitar-amp DNA.
CLASSIC BLACKFACE TONE
Heard on countless recordings, this is the fantastic sparkling-clean sound, warm breakup when pushed, and cavernous reverb of Fender’s famous "blackface" amps of the early 1960s and subsequent decades, prized by guitarists everywhere.
JENSEN® SPEAKER
Jensen® speakers are the traditional Fender speakers, with sweet articulation for clean sounds and cool vintage-style breakup when pushed.

Damn, did the stomp sound good. There is a noticeable difference, the real amp is a lot more in your face and how the amp compresses and distorts is different, but the stomp really did sound good, although thinner.
Thank you for this video.
You made a great short groove for testing the two. Lot of useful bits in there for hearing the dynamics and sustain on chords and single notes.
As great as it is, I would love for Line6 to revisit the deluxe and make a model that has the reverb and tremelo in it. Particularly because I think their newer models are better than their old ones.
Thank you Sir.
Can I hear the difference? Yes! It's huge. I much prefer the amp.
👍🏻
I actually preferred the stomp. Kind of warmer sounding. I'm sure they could be made to sound closer with further tweaking.
👍🏻
Very well done. Thanks
Thanks for this! I am heavily considering buying a '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb for cheap locally but I also just bought an HX Stomp and already own 4 other tube amps... The DR sounds brighter and more scooped in the mids here, almost like it has the bright cap clipped. I think this might be close enough for me to save a good bit of money.
Thanks for comment
I guess for the HX stomp you plugged it into a cabinet (sim cab?) that matches the one of fender amp 65 deluxe reverb (jensen). Could you please explain more your signal path please after the HX stomp? Nice video in anycase.
Thank you! Some subtractive eq, UAD LA2A and a touch of post reverb.
It would be interesting to use an IR, maybe even one made from your own cab, and try to eq match the HX this time
Thanks for comment.
Si tienes otra duda me dices. Saludos
👍🏻
The amp has a more cleaner and in your face sound on clean mode, and when you get inot edge of break tone the amp is sweet, whil the Helix is hard.
Thanks for comment
Awesome comparison - Stomp gets pretty close - which cab did you use in the HX STOMP?
Thank you. Stock cab paired with the US Deluxe.
@@AlbertoMartinezDelRio thx a lot great video ! im guessing you scooped the mids to get Mayer tone ?
Thanks. Not specially. The guitar has the big dipper pickups and the Deluxe has those scooped mids included so apart from that nothing special.
just want to ask..why is it that the volume knob of the hx is turned off???
You can cancel the volume potentiometer so that it does not interfere with the general signal
👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌
I can tell the difference and prefer the amp on the lead - if you get the Ownhammer IRs though it will sound better especially with the Royer 121 mic sim
What does IR actualy do?
Speaker Simulator
Pues la verdad el line 6 hace un gran trabajo.
Me gusta más el ampli.
Pero teniendo en cuenta que el line 6 es del tamaño de una billetera y tiene 1000 sonidos és una gran compra.
.
Así es Anton, pienso lo mismo!
What song are you playing?
Just improv
Sounds awesome - but damn its ugly in blue :)
Thanks for comment!
Ok kids, what we learned today is that, God Dammit Billy, stop pulling Stephanie's hair, is that a tube amp is far superior to a any type of firmware or software emulation. So buy a tube amp and a mic.
Agreed
Thanks for comment.
