Met Tyler at a small show in Freiburg, Germany. Must have been in 2017. Talked to him about music and touring in general. He’s one of the nicest guys I ever met in music business.
He said: you will get your chance to break through and living from music.
Few years later, I’m playing festivals and bigger club shows.
Thanks Tyler for your kind and supportive words. Meant a lot to me. :)
Was it 2016? I saw them in Vienna Austria when they opened for AC/DC in 2016. The same year when Axl Rose had to sit in for Brian Johnson.
@@navinadv nope, it was 2017, pretty sure. :)
Great player and in all the videos I've seen him interviewed he always seems like such a great, genuine cat! Best of luck to him. He deserves it
Honestly, he’s the nicest dude in the world. It was such a pleasure hanging out with him!
I was about to make the same type of comment. 👍🏽
I’ve seen him as an opening act many times for Blackberry Smoke. I met and talked to him and he is a very personable guy. Great player.
Life can be so strange, but serendipity in discovering this video and learning about Tyler and how good the '64 Fender Deluxe Reverb handwired amp sounds made my day. The signature Pinky guitar is sold out at Sweetwater, but it's still available at two dealers in the U.S.
Wish I could own a Deluxe Reverb like that. But with kids and just getting my feet wetter with guitar, only 3yrs in, all I can manage is the Blonde Deluxe Reverb Tone Master. Still sounds really good and easier on my injuries, but that one is killer. It better be for what you paid for it
Tyler is an awesome player and a cool guy. We met him after a show and he was very nice to my 7 year old daughter.
Wow. What a video. Going through a weird phase where i feel like I’m losing love for the instrument after so many years, but after watching this video I picked up my guitar and feels like the first time I ever picked up a guitar. Thanks for the amazing video and content you do.
This is absolutely one of my favorite guitar videos!
He truly is such a fantastic guitarist. Also a fan of his wife. She rips it too.
…and that is the incredibly talented Rebecca Lovell of Larkin Poe.
Colt, this was a blast dude! Hung out til the end it went by so quickly. Really enjoyed Tyler and his playing. Good stuff brutha! Remember to keep that pinky out.
wheres the holy grail recording rig i was expecting to watch?
You watched it. That's his holy grail..... With a professional strat player to put cherry on the cake
The player is the holy grail bud
@@harrisonwhitecloud8062 lmfao right…. 🤡
Great video Colt. Good chat and great playing by Tyler, of course. 🙌🙌
love Fender black face amps, but I think most of the sound here was from the rest of signal chain. maybe a Rodenberg drive pedal, haha. and he sounds like a great guy.
Love a good crossover episode
Thanks for watching!
My first tube amp was a Blackface Fender Deluxe, no Reverb. I plugged my 1964 Fender Stratocaster into it, which I bought in 1972 for $75.00. My older brother got the amp used at a local shop for $100.
Well done Colt. Loved the stories, especially the one where the guy recognized his guitar, bought it and sent it back to him. Good people still exist ! : )
What an awesome video. The playing, the guitars, the amp sound, the conversation. First class 🎸
This was such a wonderful interview, l have the utmost respect for Tyler! Plus his wife's band, Larken Poe,( check them out) is right now at the very top of my favorite music groups!
Tyler is such a down to earth dude. We sat and talked guitar for like an hour after they played a show by me. Mad respect.
Great conversation/interview, Colt! You did a fantastic job. Tyler seems like such a nice/badass guy. Very talented, too, of course. Loved to see the two of y'all together.
God damn Tyler took that sob to the stratosphere!
This video brought tears out of me. Thank you for this video.
Great interview Colt! Man that tone and playing!! Mind blown 🤯
I have got to see him perform once, and it was an amazing experience! I went to the show for another band, and walked out with every CD that TBSD had. I love their tunes, and love even more that he is humble and respectful. All around good dude!
Absolutely! He went from just being one of my favorite guitar players, to being one of my favorite dudes. Thanks for watching!
@@ColtCapperrune I love your videos! Thanks for getting Tyler some more facetime. He is destined for a legacy!
This is my 1st time watching your channel, and it will not be the last. I'm a fan of Tyler and watched this because of him. He's such a humble musician. I loved this interview, the stories, the whole she-bang as they say. Keep up the good work.
Grateful to have found this channel. Wish you the best to both. Tyler is awesome.. And your videos are really inspiring
Great interview. One of the best shows I’ve seen was TB & The Shakedown here in San Francisco. What a show!
Such a great guitarist and a veery nice person with unbelievable talent. I love listening to his stories.
Colt great video and interview man!!!! Tyler and the Shakedown is a great band! I feel for him with the stoking guitar. I bought a guitar that was stolen from a reputable store who didn’t know it was stolen because the guitar had traveled different states. I didn’t know it was stolen when I bought it But when I got wind of it worked to make sure the guitarist got his guitar back. The look on his face when he did was all worth it man! Made my musical journey even more worth it!!! That’s a horrible feeling to have your gear stolen. As a musician I couldn’t imagine. Whoever the shop owner was that recognized Tyler Bryant guitar is a fantastic person. We need more people like that in the world 🌎 but also I like what Tyler said: “we showed up on time, we flew comfortably under the radar and we said thank you” Pay attention to that because those 3 things are most important things to do! Tyler is such a great guy!
What a great interview! Outstanding stories.
Tyler! What a wonderful humble man! Loved feeling like we got know you a little bit! 😇
Absolutely amazing video, Thank you Colt!!
Such a wonderful and humble musician. Phenomenal talent 🙌🏼🎸
Rad hang with Tyler! What a great player and chill guy. Been following him and his IG a while now and he rips. Good to see you guys hook up.
So cool you got your strat back thank god 30 years didn’t go by you got it back in time to enjoy it.
This video was freakin' awesome and insightful! Thank you so much Colt & Tyler! Before I came across this video, I was listening to Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown again this morning 'cause it really is one of my favorite bands-how awesome is that, you guys made my day!! :-) Tyler and the rest of the band truly deserve the success. I'm very happy for them!
Great show Colt. Awesome guest, good stories, good tude, and good tone. Thanks 🙏!
YES!! More Please!!! Great Video! Saw Them live in Traverse City, MI when they opened for Blackberry Smoke! Got a Pic with the whole band!!
Awesome introduction to you Tyler… stay amazing!
Appreciated
This video contains everything I love about guitar videos. Tasteful playing, great tone, amazing stories.
Had one. Couldn't get rid of it fast enough. I really wanted to love it but there was a harshness that I couldn't shake. Tried many speakers, tubes, etc. My amp tech said it was because of the mod to the circuit that allowed reverb on both channels. At the time I also had a '67, a 65 Reissue and a Tonemaster, so I had a chance to compare them all. I spent about 3 months comparing them before I sold the rest and kept the vintage one. This came in 3rd, just ahead of the Tonemaster. The vintage 67 of course came in first, with the Reissue in second place.
Wow came here to listen to that Princeton and discovered this young fella Tyler Bryant - amazing guitar player! Seems like a humble down to earth guy with a great Family to boot. Best of luck to him and great video.
Man! I absolutely love this and could easily be my favorite video of yours. Known of Tyler since I was 15 years old, because of Robert Knight's movie "Rock Prophecies". I watched that and was floored, and Robert ended up coming to Indianapolis and shooting Sadie Johnson and I for the "Brotherhood Of The Guitar" group, which was inspired by Tyler looking for young blues/blues-rock guitar players. Freaking amazing! God bless brother, and great job on this!
Strat through a Fender is my favorite of all time. I like all kinds, but how can you go wrong with that?
Two amazing musicians and human beings, rock on!
Totally man. It's awesome seeing the hard working, genuine and talented people getting the success they deserve.
Couldn't have said it better myself, DITTO
Man I loved watching and listening to Tyler. I loved hearing his stories and you can tell he is a hard working music loving musician. TRUE professional
Love Tyler! Such a killer player and dude!
Love this guy! Been tracking him since I saw him open for ZZ and Jeff Beck back in 2014??? Real deal rock n roll for sure!!
Love this dude! Awesome stories too.
Tyler is a great guitar player. This was very cool
I was not aware of Tyler. Good stories. Seems like a really good dude. Good that good things are happening for him.
Awesomeness, all round!
The tones were insane 🔥🔥🔥
Looks like Tyler gave you the "Shakedown" of his rig.
Tyler is one of my favorite guitarist right now. Cappy, your cool too. Great video!
Props to Riff City Guitars. I wish they were still around, they were good people. Great story.
Can’t go wrong with a deluxe reverb!
I have a vintage ‘65 Deluxe Reverb and A/B’d it with a friend’s reissue. The reissue was fantastic but mine had the magic pixie dust. They are incredible amps.
There have been many comparisons and the originals have the majic
I'm a guitar player. And I love love love music in general. I've never heard of this Tyler guy until now. That young man has a awesome touch. Reminds me of a little Chris buck and Jeff beck mixed together. I'm glad I heard Tyler. I will be listening to him regularly thanks
Damn! We had guitars stolen from Portland too. And a backdrop. Actually got one of the guitars back so there are 3 other PRS guitars floating around.
That sucks so bad! Sorry to hear that!
Great set up. Keep it simple and fantastic. Young man you sound great. Your parents I bet are very Proud of you. Never forget your mother and father. Only three things a man needs to know, where he came from, where he is going, and to whom he must answer. 🎼🎸👍🇺🇸
Great video, I really enjoyed this.
The future of guitar playing is in excellent hands. Tyler is great man.
This came up on my feed…never heard of Tyler. Glad to! Great player and good guy.
Nice artist Strat spec and story too.
I scored an all original 1965 Deluxe Reverb mid last year and decided that I will be buried with it. This is truly my desert island amp. Now I just need to cough up the dough for a R121 ribbon mic lol. Great video man!
Awesome score! Only amp you will ever need. ..well.. maybe throw in a marshall haha
cool interview ...cool and clever dude and awesome guitar player 😊
Seems like such a good hang!
The best! Thanks for watching!
Great post....thanks guys
Hell Yeah!! Phenomenal guitarist and amp. I LOVE this amp. Thanks for the vid nice work!
What a cool nice guy, and amazing guitar player
Killer! Thanks for this!
What a sound!
Really enjoyed this video!
That was great ❤.
Tyler Bryant needs more airtime. Everywhere.
Think you could lay-out which effects he uses with the Fender Deluxe Reverb, especially which he used at the beginning when he plays slide...outstanding man.
Tyler has a decent attitude ,how lucky he was to get back that guitar , some people lost their guitars years ago and still have not found them.... I know he will be much more careful with it now.
Love this! But havent I watched this already? I remember you posting this before. I am so confused right now 😮😂
As much as I love Fender, as previously stated, I also enjoy the tones of DR Z.
As a rock/jazz/blues guitarist of nearly 60 years (I'm 71), I'm still hep to young talent. Tyler and the Shakedown are BAD ASS and I love them. The fact that he and Rebecca Lovell of Larkin Poe married in 2019 shows you the guy also knows a good woman, a very MUSICAL woman, when he sees it. Great choice for your video. BTW, my mom bought me a brand-new 1966 Deluxe Reverb back in the day. It wasn't loud enough so it got traded for a used bandmaster. Made sense at the time but I sure wish I had that amp back now. 🙂🙃🙂
that was amazing
Got a chance to open for and meet Tyler and band very briefly earlier this year at a music fest 8n Gainesville. Great cat, incredible player. Love this video. I didn't get to see what he had on hisfx board but great sounds. Iirc he wasn't using a DR at show. His other guitarist (Brad Whitfords son ) was using a big Orange head.they m8ghtve been using backline equipment. I played though an ancient Hot Rod Deluxe that was provided. I wanted to use my old 74 DR but....
Great Vid!!! I still can't believe that Rival Sons opened for Tyler Bryant. Let's be honest, it should have been the other way around.
That is one of the coolest guitar stories I’ve ever heard
holy shit that was a _great_ video. thanks!
killer interview
I’d imagine there’s only one guy that can engrave quite like that.
Great vid.
Met Tylor at the Zoo Amphitheater in Oklahoma City when touring with Jeff Beck. Genuinely a nice young man to speak with.
My just divorced dad got my '54 Stratocaster out of layaway at great sacrifice and had it under our Christmas tree, 1963 ... And no. He was not there that morning.
Great video man. I had one of the originals. Very nice amp.
What a great story! We all have had that moment when you're playing with your hero and pray you hang. (And you did!)
I love guitar content on your channel. Tyler is awesome, but I 💩 my pants every time I hear you play as well! Thanks for the content.
i must laugh so hard when you say "That´s unreal" at 27:00, tylor is also such a great Storyteller.... i could listem him for hours
Yep the 64 HW Deluxe. Perfect Fender jam/band/recording amp…. Put a tubescreamer/Fulldrive and you’re ready for anything.
Colt, that Royer mic is certainly delivering the tone and energy of that amp perfectly. Does that mic top your list for the Deluxe Reverb, or are there others that you equally love?
Tyler is so cool. Nothing more appealing than a super talented musician who has no ego like you’re below them even when you know for sure you’re not even close to the caliber they are. Humble people are amazing. Egotistical people are the biggest turn off ever. It’s actually knocked themselves down in my mind
The guitar story is crazy
Fender for the win. It always works.
Great episode! What mic are you using on the deluxe reverb?
Tyler rocks!
Tyler is a Monster Guitarist 🤟🤟
