I was actually able to see one of these at my local Cadillac dealer recently and the exterior is nice but the interior is beautiful. Probably the best interior GM has made since the 60s.
Everyone calling this car crap probably hasn't seen it in person. This thing is impeccably well built. The refinement alone is worth the price in my opinion.
Kyle, you're doing an amazing job on all of these videos, I was just browsing your collection again and it's like you have your own virtual dealership on UA-cam. Keep up the great work!
I attended the San Francisco Car Show in November 2014 and visited the Cadillac ELR showcase. The Cadillac ELR garnered much attention from visitors. The car is long slung and impressive upon approach. One issue was young hosts didn't know too much about the actual machinations of the ELR which was unfortunate because the visitors had questions on drivetrain, horsepower, hybrid capabilities, and then charging stations. The ELR uses the same drive train as the Chevy Volt therefore I question the price point ($75K) for the performance as people will expect more performance for the price. There needs to be more information on the "charging" and "charging stations" because this is a hidden price. In conclusion, the Cadillac appears to be a good start but for the price-performance the high scale consumer will look elsewhere. While I am tempted to purchase an ELR...I cannot convince myself the $75,000 is a value-add without the performance.
i love how this car looks. to someone who doesn't know much about the drivetrain in this, they would think its a gas powered sports car. too expensive though, even with tax incentives. btw kyle, the description has a slight error. it says "MSRP pricing for the XTS4 V-Sport, before options, begins at..."
I think it comes with two or three different grill options. I agree, the standard grill looks cheap and hideous. But then again, what would you expect from GM. They really don't know what they are doing.
I've seen the ELR at a showing and the dealership and it is slick, fine. Got those long smooth handle free doors like the coupe. The interior is a work of art. It's not big, not compact, but roomy inside. If you need a back seat, forget it. I'd need more info on electric cars. Starts at $72 -84k, lol. You can get it now for about $55k and Caddy will install the charger up to 3k. Nice. GM redesigned all Caddies and upped the price.
Guys let's be glad that we have options to choose from and are not stuck with cars that look like a Prius. At least they are trying to make electric cars more appealing. With that being said, I do think the $70,000 price tag is stretching it a bit. I can see $50,000, maybe even 60, but 70 is pushing it. But if they believe in their heart that that car is worth the $70,000 price tag, then hey, more power to them.
I sooo want one.Looks amazing. Love the Interior. As much as I love Tesla's for some reason their interiors look very cold to me as if I would be sitting in a large calculator.. The ELR looks more inviting.
These can be had used with under 40,000 miles for under $30,000... less than half the price of new. There are some good deals out there if the ELR is your thing. I test drove a 2014 yesterday and I agree that it's very well made, very comfortable, and drives nicely. My only misgiving is the buzzy 1.4L engine, but I think I can forgive that, given everything else this car has to offer.
every Cadillac video people hate on them . But no one even gives them a try drive any Cadillac over a lexus or BMW and you'll fall in love with Cadillacs
This is a car for those with a discerning eye. I even have family that will buy anything just for the 0-60 time. That is so old fashioned to me because to live with a car you need so much more. I sat in a model made just like the one presented here at an auto show and I was floored with how well built it was. Nothing under 100K can touch it in most regards....good job Cadillac.
There are plenty of cars for $50,000 that could beat this car, and for $75,000 this car better also be RWD or AWD and have a twin-turbo V8. A CTS-V coupe is pretty much like this car in terms of interior quality, just a bit dated, but it's RWD and can go much faster than this car, which is a dressed up Volt. Cadillac made a mistake raising the prices on their cars, and the ELR should start at $55K. I am a flexible person but $75,000 for a FWD car is pushing it. Would it has killed them to give it a some more HP and torque and AWD?
This car isn't bad to look at. The headlights are a little funky but the styling all around is great. It's obviously the price that makes people super mad. And this car is for people who want to have the luxury car buyer status. So they opt for this and not the volt. Because either way, it's still considered a Cadillac. I'd love to own this car.
I guess as long as there are still barn finds to be had and classic cars out there I can embrace the new ones. You gotta admit this bad boy must just whisper down the highway.
On these new Cadillacs, how good is the interior? I've been looking at some 2011-present CTS and ATS and they look pretty cheap from the screen. How good are the materials used?
The interior quality of the ELR is excellent. Leather, wood, carbon fiber, and Alcantara are everywhere. It definitely does not have the typical GM plastic interior feel to it. The design and layout is very nice, although the control layout for the infotainment and climate control is kind of busy.
Whoops, what I meant was the best looking car from this current generation. Yeah, back then was way better, designers could be more creative and not restricted due to modern regulations.
Great review, everything you want to know about the 2014 Cadillac ELR! Very nice car, I might be in need of a short range golf cart in the near future and the ELR is at the top of the list! ;-)~
Please do a car review on the Mercedes Benz 2013/2014 ML350. You do great startups and reviews on cars and I would really appreciate if u did one on the ml350.
The Voltec powertrain only uses about 11 of the 16.5 kWh available to propel the vehicle. No part of the battery is reserved for a particular use (ie pure EV or hybrid). The entire battery is charged or recharged as necessary within the state-of-charge limits in the software code.
I think this is a very cool car, I don't care what other fanboys say. Cadillac is moving forward! I wonder if you can pre-load your own start-up and shutdown sounds when you start/stop the car. I'd pre-load something like a jet engine starting up, or a Corvette's V-8 audio.
I was actually able to see one of these at my local Cadillac dealer recently and the exterior is nice but the interior is beautiful. Probably the best interior GM has made since the 60s.
To bad the car is terrible in any other way
Everyone calling this car crap probably hasn't seen it in person. This thing is impeccably well built. The refinement alone is worth the price in my opinion.
Broccoli Beefed however their products say otherwise and price you incorrect.
First 8 seconds and I'm already loving the looks of this car.
This car looks so good in black. It shows just how well it can pull off Cadillac's latest design language.
One of the most beautiful cars Cadillac came up with in years in my humble opinion.
This car is fucking stunning in person. Just gorgeous. And you will rarely see them, so when you do, you'll be looking.
Your videos are so well done, detailed and I just wanted to thank you for doing what you do for us watching.
Kyle, you're doing an amazing job on all of these videos, I was just browsing your collection again and it's like you have your own virtual dealership on UA-cam. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much man! It really is awesome the variety I've brought over the years :)

+KLIP1220 AM Soul Radio Station , Exactly, GM still thinks their potential customers are dumb. That's why they filed bankruptcy in 2009
80K starting price here in Canada. No thanks...
Looks pretty bad imo not even worth $75,000 in the US
Financing for the ELR here would be 1080 dollars a month. I Tesla model S is 780. Obvious choice in my opinion.
ALPHA330 Depends on your credit rating and downpayment. Then you can lease for less.
We have the same name :D Anyways, ELR=EvenLowerRates...
i love how this car looks. to someone who doesn't know much about the drivetrain in this, they would think its a gas powered sports car. too expensive though, even with tax incentives.
btw kyle, the description has a slight error. it says "MSRP pricing for the XTS4 V-Sport, before options, begins at..."
Thank you!
Apart from that grill, it actually looks pretty nice!
The grill does look bad
Ryan Titchell yeah the grill is very ugly
I think it comes with two or three different grill options. I agree, the standard grill looks cheap and hideous. But then again, what would you expect from GM. They really don't know what they are doing.
Right now in 2018, this is probably the best used car steal, I’ve seen more of them on the streets so people know!
Nice car. Great job Saabkyle04, keep up the good work!
Kyle you are such a master at filming videos, I feel as if I am setting in the car. Thank you once again. Namaste.
My everyday vehicle! Awesome video bro.
I like how it looks. Very futuristic
It still looks like a concept car in 2018. Very neat design.

Love the new music style you use during the interior portion of the review. It really makes it classy and refined. Keep up the good work!

Greeting tone: 1:39
I love this car and i want one so bad!!!
Another good example of making a hybrid that looks great.
Remote Start 0:41
This car is really amazing love Cadillac ELR 🇺🇸
BEAUTIFUL and amazing car.
Dam its nice...love it, it looks exotic!!
Kyle u been on UA-cam since day 1.....ur awesome man
I sooo want one.Looks amazing. Love the Interior. As much as I love Tesla's for some reason their interiors look very cold to me as if I would be sitting in a large calculator.. The ELR looks more inviting.
More Saabs Kyle, we demand it!
Just kidding, but Saabs would be nice.
Hopefully one day, I can buy this car like this.
I will risk my life for owning this car its magically beautiful, stylish and in one word EXTRAORDINARY
This thing is impeccably well made, easily the nicest vehicle GM has made in years, but it's way too expensive for me.
These can be had used with under 40,000 miles for under $30,000... less than half the price of new. There are some good deals out there if the ELR is your thing.

What can I say CADILLAC the only car that made every other car compete with Cadillac because Cadillac is the best invention EVER
This car is so beautiful. It's one of my dream cars.
every Cadillac video people hate on them . But no one even gives them a try drive any Cadillac over a lexus or BMW and you'll fall in love with Cadillacs

So futuristic! Love it
Even in 2022, the anatomy of this car is amazing!
Kyle, your an expert at this
This car isn't bad to look at. The headlights are a little funky but the styling all around is great. It's obviously the price that makes people super mad. And this car is for people who want to have the luxury car buyer status. So they opt for this and not the volt. Because either way, it's still considered a Cadillac. I'd love to own this car.
I have a '12 cts coupe premium edition and I love it, I wonder how it compares to the ELR which I am thinking of getting next.
Stick with the CTS coupe.
Stick w your CTS. You already have an excellent vehicle that will last.
Don't commute with it. You won't be happy
It looks like a spaceship!!!! Pretty sweet
Outstanding review as always!!
Great review as always Kyle!
Finally, Kyle. A car you can't rev like crazy in park. (c;
i'M IN LOVE!!!
Carro lindo realmente a Cadillac acertou no carro e essa cor preta com as lanternas e o cromado fica muito bonito.
1:39 Must be pretty annoying if you own the car
thegrassmaster2 r
thegrassmaster2 no it's not, I like it
If it's like the Volt, it's called an "audio cue" and the volume can be raised, lowered, or muted in the infotainment.
You can turn it off.
I guess as long as there are still barn finds to be had and classic cars out there I can embrace the new ones. You gotta admit this bad boy must just whisper down the highway.
Most of the luxury cars out there are really- badge vehicles. This car was so fun to drive its just the price that is way out there.
Best design they made
Damnnnnn the cadillac ELR is really Futuristic NGL!!!!!!!
wow. this car is gorgeous.
Wow a very powerful 86 hp!!
What the F dude if u dont like it then stop watching it!
I agree I did
You're not even old enough to drive a car. How would you know how much 86hp is?
Cause my father owns 8 cars..........
Peter Wooster Wasn't even talking to you, you're talking shit anyway.
Now this is a hybrid I'd actually want to own. Better looking than a Tesla, IMO
AnotherSiGuy you’re joking right... (Ik this is 3 years old)
I agree. It's beautiful.
On these new Cadillacs, how good is the interior? I've been looking at some 2011-present CTS and ATS and they look pretty cheap from the screen. How good are the materials used?

I love the way this thing looks, for a hybrid. Of course I'd still take a CTS or an ATS
Please, Please can anyone tell me the name of music playing at @17:45.. Please :)
Sexiest car GM's ever made.
umm.... did you kinda miss the cars from the 50s and 60s made by GM? Because this is NOT the best looking car GM has ever made
Whoops, what I meant was the best looking car from this current generation. Yeah, back then was way better, designers could be more creative and not restricted due to modern regulations.
*****
oh thank god, i thought you meant sexiest car of all time by GM, i was like wut
Nathanael Reagan agreed
Nathanael Reagan o
Best video I have seen on the ELR. Too bad its priced to start higher than the Tesla Model S
The fact that it has the same engine as a Cruze frightens me. I’d really like to have one though
Most in depth and informative .. thank you.
Thanks, that was almost as much fun as the look at the 2006 Ford GT.
LOL! OMG.. so funny
Saabkyle04 you are the best :)
This car's only downside is its price $75 to $80k is going to be a hard sell...Maybe $55 to $60 would have been a LITTLE better imo
Great video, great car, and great info on the car from you as usual. Thanks!
Absolutely beautiful Caddy! :)
Love your videos!
they're fucking up every 2014-15 body styles for any car..
JDEDeddy I’m from the future, your cars suck bitch
Always thought of the ELR as the spiritual successor to the Eldorlado. Very similar cars with the exception of the way they are powered.
Good vídeo... Nice car !
Nice job as always Kyle. I want this car, but I'll have to win the lottery first. LOL
It would be nice if you can review the Lexus LS460L 2013/14
Beautiful car
1:40 the suspense to drive this car is killing me
I think it looks great
Beatiful Car Thank You Ver Muchc for The Video. From Argentina
Nice startup sound!
Gorgeous car.
Call me weird but I love the sound of new GM turn signals
You should do a review and tour of the all new 2015 Escalade in one of your videos! Thanks
Nice looking car!!
Great review, everything you want to know about the 2014 Cadillac ELR! Very nice car, I might be in need of a short range golf cart in the near future and the ELR is at the top of the list! ;-)~
I knew I'd recognize this car. It was in the movie Click from 8 years ago
Please do a car review on the Mercedes Benz 2013/2014 ML350. You do great startups and reviews on cars and I would really appreciate if u did one on the ml350.
I had a pre owned one. On a full charge it got 29 miles. GM said too bad, too sad.
The ELR has the silhouette of a Lamborghini
Powertrain not part of equation, this is a stunning car. Concept looking car, sold now.
this is a beautiful car
Love this❤ extraordinary
Damn this car looks so futuristic

This car looks badass. If I could barely afford an 80k car, I would go w/ german cars. I would buy this if it was 65-70k, though.
First time I see one. I didn't even know they existed.
Excellent job on this review as always Kyle (*****)!
In addition, how's your hand been doing lately?
- Michael Land
Cadillacs and Bmws for me! lol Great reviews!
I think this is a very cool car, I don't care what other fanboys say. Cadillac is moving forward! I wonder if you can pre-load your own start-up and shutdown sounds when you start/stop the car. I'd pre-load something like a jet engine starting up, or a Corvette's V-8 audio.
For $80,000 you can! but thats all you get that is different from the volt
people always copycat off other comments, this is a nice ass car!,better than what i own,and probably everyone thats saying they dont like it
Awesome car
