There is a rare recording of John lennon singing at this tempo, but yes it was decided that the song needed to be more upbeat to help with commercial success
As a huge Beatles fan, of course I like the original better, but I do think this is a brilliant cover nonetheless. I like the fact that Noel played it slowly because you can really appreciate the sadness in John's lyrics compared to the original. Love The Beatles and love Oasis!
George I was never a big Oasis fan.but after hearing all the Beatle covers they have done, has peaked my interest. I have started to wonder what have I been missing all these years.

This is a wonderful version of the song. Lennon wrote this as the first ever autobiographical lyrics of his life. I think, at the time, the Beatles' genre was not yet ready to sing the song like this. The original by the Beatles is still very good, but i think this is the way the song should be performed. The tempo, choice of key and amplitude of the words are perfect for the song meaning. Well done, Noel!
Sudip Bhandari : It was originally written this way as a serious cry for help. When it got to studio he was told - speed that up and make it happier or it goes on the scrap heap.
Definitely the tempo because the original song is actually pretty harmonically dark at some points (it switches between B minor and A major and in the B minor part they also play an E chord which resolves nicely to A but it's not in the key of Bm); Playing the song fast hides a lot of the sadness, which is why a lot of EDM songs are in minor keys but you don't see people crying in a rave lol

What's so great about this is that if you didn't know The Beatles did this song, you would have absolutely no problem believing this was an original Noel tune. Yes, The Beatles are the Beatles, but i think Noel has written songs that are right on par with anything McCartney and Lennon did. Noel is one of the best songwriters of his generation..or of any generation for that matter. And not only can he write amazing songs, he can take classic tunes and make him his own. Unbelievable. Live Forever!

this song is actually sad but The Beatles played it like a happy song, i love how Noel covered it,
+davlor86 this is how lennon wanted it to sound like, actually
gonzalo pardo-figueroa they played it like that to do it more commercial i guess
There is a rare recording of John lennon singing at this tempo, but yes it was decided that the song needed to be more upbeat to help with commercial success
Rock n Roll = take a sad song(blues) and make it better(celebrate those blues). For No One, Lady Madonna other examples.
On 1.75 speed it sounds like The Beatles
Noel’s voice is so underrated man.
@Keebine Kobold oh get a grip ffs
Dumbest comment ever…Noel’s voice has NEVER been considered Under Rated….dip sheet
@@MACHINArebirth i know 🤮, i bet he's been getting exited this past month.
1.75 speed same as the original
you're right!
YOU ARE GODDAMN RIGHT
Khvfl Prihant 2x sounds better imo
who cares ?
Tienes razón.
Lennon himself would be proud of this version
I was goñna say the same thing. Going by what Paul Mcartney has said, he thinks it was a genuine cry for help. Not a cheery pop song.
I actually genuinely think Lennon would prefer this to the original. The fact that he hated his own voice could possibly add weight to that.
I don't know if you listened to the demo version but is almost identical to this
ua-cam.com/video/Fh8Q6RQ8cj0/v-deo.html
@@ZankoGamer92 yeah i was about say that god i just love this slow paced version it would have been awesome if noel used a piano

George Mclennon youre right and John actually wished it had been recorded in a slower tempo for that reason.
George I was never a big Oasis fan.but after hearing all the Beatle covers they have done, has peaked my interest. I have started to wonder what have I been missing all these years.
Love this version brings out the actual emotion of the song
how lennon wanted it to be recorded
boomps r, Really I didn't Know That!!!! Thanks
Well he mightve changed his mind after hearin this
Nothin like revisionism for the uninitiated
Lennon originally had it as a slow sad number
Yep! That's true my friend. Not many know about this fact.

Slowing the song down really brings out the lyrics. Noel did the same with the To Be Someone Jam cover
How in the hell a man can do such a beautiful version of this song????? Only one man can... Noel!!!!
Live forever Noel!!!!
greatest cover of a song I have ever heard ... still listening after all the years ... sign of greatness
