🌹This is the exact way I learned this growing up. Except ,we used to sit under a hair dryer to set the curls. The styling at the end brings back memories. 🌷
Finally, a style for people who are hairstyling challenged! And it's refreshing to see a video of someone who doesn't do baby hairs. Thought I was a dying breed.
Adonai El-Rohi even if you wanted to straighten it you don't really need the relaxers... you would for example do the same rollers she used just the really big ones so the curls come out huge then once it's air dry you can blow dry it and it will be completely straight without damaging the hair or using relaxers..
Adonai El-Rohi your hair looks really pretty. Could you have wrapped it around and then l had a full wrap styles? I have natural hair and that's the look I'm going for but I've never use rollers on it
Your roller set turned out great! Your hair looks very healthy and I will definitely try this as I have been trying to figure out how to style my hair for a more polished and professional look for work. Thank you for this video!
If anything the roller set does a good job at stretching the hair so you can have more flexibility with styling. Natural hair is so versatile! I hope this works for you too! :)
I'm going from A short hair style I had for years. My hair grew so much after I had Back Surgery Last Year. I'm trying different ways to do my longer hair. I use to have long hair. Good Tip For Doing Roller Sets. Thanks
This was so pretty. I liked the tight curls in the front too. It framed your face. This was a great video. I loved the tip with the clips for more tension. New subscriber!
I love this and I must try it. I used to wet set my hair like this when I had a relaxed. now thai I'm natural, I didn't think I could still do this. but I'm gonna try it now! thanks for sharing!
I loved this tutorial! My newly natural hair is about this length. I could never get curls like these when I was relaxed, so I am really looking forward to doing more roller sets- thank you for the inspiration:)
I was thinking about this method just the other day and then saw your video today. Awesome job! Can't wait to try this...I love curls and I already have my rollers from my relaxer days lol. Great video! Thanks for sharing.
wow, i definitively going to grow more my hair, after one year of growing my hair and use the relaxer :( but now i regrow my hair and at least i have like three inches and a half since i have cut the relaxed end, that way i could try to use the rollers :)
Cool! Remember as long as you can wind the hair around a roller 1 1/2 times you'll get a good set. So you can try this with smaller rollers on shorter hair. Good luck!
It's worth a try. My first couple tries with rollers were with tiny perm rods. I didn't really know what I was doing but as long as they're completely dry when you take them down, it should work out fine.
Not gonna lie, I wasn't even thinkin' about my rollers until it got colder...lol! The wash n' go is a lot easier for me but it's just too cold to be hangin' around with wet hair. :)
You can still do the roller set with moisturizer or leave-in conditioner. The setting lotion just gives the curls hold. The method really works best with wet hair regardless of the products used.
Hi Michelle. I was just browsing through youtube trying to find people with natural hair that also roller set using the magnetic rollers. I really love your hair and the way it turned out. It is so beautiful and I can tell you take good care of it. I also have similar hair type and texture as yours. Would you mind sharing what hair products you use? My products don't seem to be working for my hair anymore and I need something new. I even need a different shampoo. Care to share?
Sure! Check out my "Favorite Shampoos" video for suggestions. Sometimes products work great but can build up over time. I like to clarify my hair every once in a while to help with this. It'll make your products feel like new again. Also, I've been using grapeseed oil a lot more lately. Check out my blog www.curlyincolorado.com to find out how. For conditioner I love Paul Mitchell's The Conditioner for a leave-in and Aussie Moist for detangling. These work for me so you may have to do some trial and error to find what works for you. HTH :)
Thanks! My mom was over for dinner and kept touching it hahaha! It was really soft and fun to wear out. Went to see "Best Man Holiday" that night so I had to look my best lol! :)
How freaking cute is this? I loved it. I suck at roller setting. I lose a lot of hair trying to smooth and rolling. Ugh! I also looked like an 80 year old and the hair wasn't smooth. Back to the drawing board.
For the benefit of anyone reading this, it is important to know that you have to manipulate a roller set. As a matter of fact, the roller set can be the basis of many different styles.
My Mom used to roll her hair up every night just like that.... Old Skool is always BEST!!! and it's REAL...and NATURAL!! You need to teach some hair grooming & hygiene classes to these weave-hoochies out here - PLEASE!!
It takes a little practice. There are rollers of all sizes. You can get great results as long as the hair can wrap 1 1/2 times around the roller. Start small and work your way up! :)
For me, this can last up to 3 days without rolling it at night but it can go longer if you use rollers everyday to re-set the curls. I use the satin covered foam rollers or pin curls. Then I'll wear a satin bonnet over it to protect it while I sleep. Otherwise, I may just pull my hair up into a high ponytail which stretches it out more and kinda keeps me from flattening the curls. When I do this, I'll wrap a satin scarf around my edges to prevent fuzzies. Hope that helps. :)

Whoa! I didn't know I could do such a style on my head! We've had these coloured plastic curlers around for years! I'm trying this!!!!!!!
so amazing what you can do with natural black hair without a relaxer.
Amen
Adonai El-Rohi even if you wanted to straighten it you don't really need the relaxers... you would for example do the same rollers she used just the really big ones so the curls come out huge then once it's air dry you can blow dry it and it will be completely straight without damaging the hair or using relaxers..

Hello.what do you use for rolling your here, can you reccomend 3/4 . Thank you
Beautiful curls this is lovely, how many rollers did you have on ur hair
Thank you! I don’t remember how many I used. Maybe 25-30?
@@Curlyincolorado thanks!
So pretty!
Thanks!
I love this. But what is your night routine?
Thank you! I either use satin rollers or push my hair up into the pineapple to keep the curls going. The rollers are soft so I can sleep on them.
How freaking cute is this? I loved it. I suck at roller setting. I lose a lot of hair trying to smooth and rolling. Ugh! I also looked like an 80 year old and the hair wasn't smooth. Back to the drawing board.
Thanks! My first few roller sets I had the Rosa Parks look going lol but I got the hang of it. Thanks for watching! :)
*****
Lol. No. Not Rosa! Haha.
For the benefit of anyone reading this, it is important to know that you have to manipulate a roller set. As a matter of fact, the roller set can be the basis of many different styles.
HOW do you make a roller set last more than a day w/o reverting in hot humid weather.
you can try using a curl setting solution diluted or foam. A heat protectant serum might also work because they’re silicone based.
My Mom used to roll her hair up every night just like that.... Old Skool is always BEST!!! and it's REAL...and NATURAL!!
You need to teach some hair grooming & hygiene classes to these weave-hoochies out here - PLEASE!!
I Love hair do's like this, back to basics👍✔❤
DIMENSION X .
This is beautiful.
Thank you!
Which one is best for a roller set on natural hair? Foam or setting lotion?
It all depends on your preference. I have use both and prefer the setting lotion by Elasta Qp.
CurlyinColorado Oh ok, thanks!!
Does this work on unrelaxed hair ?
Go on gurl very cute thank you for sharing
Thanks!
Nice! Thank you. I liked this one best!!!
Thanks for watching!
My hair in this process came out hmm ok. Lol. Next time. May wait for more length.
It takes a little practice. There are rollers of all sizes. You can get great results as long as the hair can wrap 1 1/2 times around the roller. Start small and work your way up! :)

Pretty 💙
Thank you for the advice
This is a great video! I love the results! The music is even soothing. I'll be subscribing :-)
I'm going to try this... but I need to know how long does it last and how do you sleep on it?
For me, this can last up to 3 days without rolling it at night but it can go longer if you use rollers everyday to re-set the curls. I use the satin covered foam rollers or pin curls. Then I'll wear a satin bonnet over it to protect it while I sleep. Otherwise, I may just pull my hair up into a high ponytail which stretches it out more and kinda keeps me from flattening the curls. Lol my hair is natural. Do you recommend me to relax it first. I really love those curls
My hair is natural in the video.
Very nice. Must try!
absolutely beautiful💚
+Toy Thanks so much!
I love your glasses!! Secondly how did you put your hair when you slept (after you took it down)?
Thanks! I usually just do a loose ponytail on top of my head and then a large satin scarf around my edges.
New Denver subscriber!
Yay! Thanks for watching :)
I loved it, very thorough
Thanks!
That's so pretty
Will you get the same results if your hair is thick?
Yes, henna can be used on thick hair.
Turned out great, I love it!
Did I see you on Say Yes to the Dress?
