🌹This is the exact way I learned this growing up. Except ,we used to sit under a hair dryer to set the curls. The styling at the end brings back memories. 🌷
Finally, a style for people who are hairstyling challenged! And it's refreshing to see a video of someone who doesn't do baby hairs. Thought I was a dying breed.
Adonai El-Rohi even if you wanted to straighten it you don't really need the relaxers... you would for example do the same rollers she used just the really big ones so the curls come out huge then once it's air dry you can blow dry it and it will be completely straight without damaging the hair or using relaxers..
Adonai El-Rohi your hair looks really pretty. Could you have wrapped it around and then l had a full wrap styles? I have natural hair and that's the look I'm going for but I've never use rollers on it
Your roller set turned out great! Your hair looks very healthy and I will definitely try this as I have been trying to figure out how to style my hair for a more polished and professional look for work. Thank you for this video!
If anything the roller set does a good job at stretching the hair so you can have more flexibility with styling. Natural hair is so versatile! I hope this works for you too! :)
This was so pretty. I liked the tight curls in the front too. It framed your face. This was a great video. I loved the tip with the clips for more tension. New subscriber!
I love this and I must try it. I used to wet set my hair like this when I had a relaxed. now thai I'm natural, I didn't think I could still do this. but I'm gonna try it now! thanks for sharing!
I was thinking about this method just the other day and then saw your video today. Awesome job! Can't wait to try this...I love curls and I already have my rollers from my relaxer days lol. Great video! Thanks for sharing.
I'm going from A short hair style I had for years. My hair grew so much after I had Back Surgery Last Year. I'm trying different ways to do my longer hair. I use to have long hair. Good Tip For Doing Roller Sets. Thanks
wow, i definitively going to grow more my hair, after one year of growing my hair and use the relaxer :( but now i regrow my hair and at least i have like three inches and a half since i have cut the relaxed end, that way i could try to use the rollers :)
Cool! Remember as long as you can wind the hair around a roller 1 1/2 times you'll get a good set. So you can try this with smaller rollers on shorter hair. Good luck!
My Mom used to roll her hair up every night just like that.... Old Skool is always BEST!!! and it's REAL...and NATURAL!! You need to teach some hair grooming & hygiene classes to these weave-hoochies out here - PLEASE!!
Not gonna lie, I wasn't even thinkin' about my rollers until it got colder...lol! The wash n' go is a lot easier for me but it's just too cold to be hangin' around with wet hair. :)
How freaking cute is this? I loved it. I suck at roller setting. I lose a lot of hair trying to smooth and rolling. Ugh! I also looked like an 80 year old and the hair wasn't smooth. Back to the drawing board.
For the benefit of anyone reading this, it is important to know that you have to manipulate a roller set. As a matter of fact, the roller set can be the basis of many different styles.
Thanks! My mom was over for dinner and kept touching it hahaha! It was really soft and fun to wear out. Went to see "Best Man Holiday" that night so I had to look my best lol! :)
You can still do the roller set with moisturizer or leave-in conditioner. The setting lotion just gives the curls hold. The method really works best with wet hair regardless of the products used.
It's worth a try. My first couple tries with rollers were with tiny perm rods. I didn't really know what I was doing but as long as they're completely dry when you take them down, it should work out fine.
Hi Michelle. I was just browsing through youtube trying to find people with natural hair that also roller set using the magnetic rollers. I really love your hair and the way it turned out. It is so beautiful and I can tell you take good care of it. I also have similar hair type and texture as yours. Would you mind sharing what hair products you use? My products don't seem to be working for my hair anymore and I need something new. I even need a different shampoo. Care to share?
Sure! Check out my "Favorite Shampoos" video for suggestions. Sometimes products work great but can build up over time. I like to clarify my hair every once in a while to help with this. It'll make your products feel like new again. Also, I've been using grapeseed oil a lot more lately. Check out my blog www.curlyincolorado.com to find out how. For conditioner I love Paul Mitchell's The Conditioner for a leave-in and Aussie Moist for detangling. These work for me so you may have to do some trial and error to find what works for you. HTH :)

This is very pretty. I have got to try this. My curl pattern and density is the same as yours.

How are the rollers magnetic?
You wet your hair enough so that the hair sticks to the roller. Magnetic is just the name for them lol 😂
CurlyinColorado gotcha!
Beautiful! Love the technique #funhair
Sai Redrick Thanks!

New Denver subscriber!
Yay! Thanks for watching :)
HOW do you make a roller set last more than a day w/o reverting in hot humid weather.
you can try using a curl setting solution diluted or foam. A heat protectant serum might also work because they’re silicone based.
Thank you just what I needed 😊
Hello, fellow Coloradian!
