My Grandfather planted at least one Walnut tree wherever he lived. He was a farmer. When he retired in the 1950's, he bought a small, more manageable farm/home . The tree still stands today, a beautiful majestic English Walnut Tree. It's absolutely beautiful. I'm hoping all the others are still standing as well. I hope they are too. What a clever man - and Walnuts can take a long time to grow! What a great idea - you could spread it around. xx Have a great week Miss Prissy xx
I have a lovely maple tree in my front yard that my mother planted with my then toddler son's "help" 20 years ago. The tree is now huge & shades much of my tiny front yard. I love it. It is frequented by several varieties of birds (the feeders I have in it help) including a pair of mourning doves, many squirrels who have nested in it for several years & even the little green Carolina anole lizards that inhabit the boxwoods in my yard enjoy climbing it. I love watching it change with the seasons - it has become my tree friend. My mother has since passed, but the tree is a little part of her that is with me always.
It’s wonderful to know that no matter how much the land has been denuded as you say, that with conscious effort the trees will re-establish. I have trees around my perimeter in the garden (my neighbour hates them), they are due to be pollarded this year as they grow very tall (SE Queensland). I love them.
Your property has really changed and is looking so loved and peaceful. The chickens look very content. Nature does her own thing and all we need to do is support her! Your views are beautiful Teri. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes always!
Thank you!!!!indeed, the earth and we especially need more of this regenerative gardening, and farming!!!!!your white willow is so beautiful, dancing in the wind...just like you💞🌿💚✨

Your woodland is beautiful and inspirational. It proves that we can save the planet. When we work in concert with Mother Nature she will thrive and so will we. Blessings xx
I absolutely agree... Spirits needed places to dwell, and they love your soil and your soul!😃😂 Amazing. You are lucky ! I never ever had a garden. I have a balcony so hot that all plants die, unless I cover them. It's a rental so I can't change things. I don't think I will ever own a place with a garden. It's not easy in Spain. You can't build on your own terrain, if it is not authorized, and it never is unless it is deemed urban area or a building was built there and the ruins remain. Even campers, roulottes, and Minihouses and the like are forbidden! It sucks: it is not to protect the environment, it is so that they can charge a lot for houses as building areas are scarce. That's why we live in tall apartment buildings in Spain. Thanks for the great videos🙏!☺️ I'm sure Spirits will show you a way to arrange pathways. And yes, trees can be a risk to plumbing and foundations.
Thank you again for such a lovely heartfelt film. Trees are wonderful our lifeblood and so underappreciated I could not imagine a world without their beauty, dignity and lifeforce They really do deserve a Hug for all they do for humankind Ps Jazz and Brock are so lovely playing their dog games ! Love from Denise in Wpg Canada
Enjoy I deeply loved it I am so connected to trees always hugging and talking with them they are amazing Birch is my favorite, thanks so much for sharing love to you dear friend.
The trees you planted love you, and they seem determined to deal with tough conditions because they're cherished. If you asked them they might agree to some pruning up so that you can get around and through, visit, and spend time with them more easily. And you all are a part of them, aren't you, because of the way you feed them with your manure as well as share your breath. Wishing you all a lovely Autumn Equinox.
You are being repaid for all the love and care you have bestowed upon Mother Earth🥰🥳💖. Bless your hearts Terri and Lol. PS. Do you have a Hornbeam? There is a few in the local Park...but one in particular is very 'vocal' and has great strength. It is fabulous! I have just sown some of their seeds🥳🙏🥰.
"The Secret Garden" I bet the pixies, wood nymphs, et. love you. When I was little playing in a tiny grove next to the school playground, I used to make little shacks for brownies from twiggs & acorn caps. Course I didn't know thing one about how big brownies were or if they would fit. Maybe the littles used them instead. Who knows?
Good morning Terri...........................you create such a beautiful space in your garden and the secret woodland looks great.............and that in connemara...................Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel,Germany☘☘☘
Love the plants and trees to over here in the Fraser Valley; Canada, end of February and next month with hope nature will begin Springtime. After all this time your still here; I'm still here, life is good. Thank you Danu.
I remember watching the planting of the alders in your "wet patch" probably three to four years ago, now. They are THRIVING! Bet they have helped dry the land out, too.
Hello terri, very happy Sunday, oh my tree delight,,they truly have grown we l l your 🌳 🌲 🌴 🌳 🌲 🌴 🌳 🌲. A mixture of plants will result in soil microbiology to take off - soil scientists say 9+ plants interacting in close proximity. Monoculture trees suffer from the absence of thriving soil. Amazing garden. It is so rare to see be in the presence of a healthy mixed native species space.
What a fun frolic in the forested land! I know your Nature Spirits and Devas love the living area you provided for them. It's beautiful, however, I have many Oaks that require a great deal of upkeep, but are SO majestic and sacred to the Celtic people. Your trimmed area is lovely for you and Lol & pups !
Wonderful!!! It’s amazing how much just a little love grows a long ways! Tremendous growth in the garden is a great problem to have! 🤗Looks like the diversity of trees and plant communities is making lands spirits dance! I pause and zoom to see what’s growing together.
What an amazing array of trees for a windbreak there! Get a mulberry or two in there if you can, they love wet feet but can tolerate drought too and the fruit is yummy and medicinal and can be used for dyeing cloth, not to mention the birds that will come, chickens love the fruit too as a treat!
It's amazing the trees are doing so well and I think the intention that went into planting and subsequent care are responsible. I live in Utah. U$ never excess water and the drought is severe. We decided to make our yard as shady as possible as the best way to conserve water.
Bravo! I have done a similar thing in our little spit of land, and the trees have rewarded us with so much lush growth. We’ll have to do a little pruning to keep paths open, but what a glorious problem to have👍🏻💚
Hi Terri...this is Diane...this is sooooo amazing....I can remember when you planted some of those trees not to long ago. It's wonderful to just see how they have grown so well. Great job!!!
Thank you. Trees grow where they’re loved and respected. When we moved to our 230 year old house in a 2000 acre wildlife sanctuary, it was just a pine forest with a few decrepit leafy trees. We planted zelkova, Tilia, different oaks, Tulip, Elm, different evergreens, birches, weeping beeches, many more. They weren’t mor than 10 of 15 feet tall. Most are now 30- 50 feet tall.
I'm getting crowded out slowly too. I planted eucalyptus trees 10 yrs ago for the crack ,well they are 20 ft today in a windy spot. They struggled for 3 yrs, then got a really hot summer and they took off! I coppice the trees for firewood and mulch the smaller branches. Love your videos.lm in East galway.🍃🌳
Terri, it is just lovely to see what you have accomplished there and as a wise woman says, Plant Like Your Life Depends On It For It Does! Love your channel and hers. Blessings
Such a beautiful piece of property. We have oak and palm trees, 1 grapefruit and 1 orange tree on our property here in Central Florida. Have a lovely week, smiles.
Wonderful!!! You've created a wonderful microclimate there 😁I have a similar problem, a tiny garden and 9 trees!! They are twice the size than they were 10 years ago when I moved here
I loved the effect of 6:51, just the pan out from the window. So good! And the secret woodland 🥰 that’s such a dream of mine! Love your vids! So much inspiration! 🥰
That is absolutely amazing!!! I remember when you were planting those alder in that wet area. It looks more and more like u are living in a woodland. It's taken off in the last couple years. That white willow was towering over u 😂. Amazing abundance u have Co created, I'm in awe 😲
What a joy it is to connect with my Irish hertiage through your explorations, I especially enjoyed the irish soulful holy well. It looked like a portal into the mystic realms. It connected me to a part of my history i have never known in person. Endless love from New Zealand . Hope life comes unto you well, Dan . Xo
We have a thicket of white pine, a dozen or so. They are over 30 years old and probably 50 feet tall (away from the house, thank goodness). Local agri-person said their typical life span around here (central Kentucky) is 10 years, but I think they like being close and I sit among them often, appreciating them. They are surrounded by even bigger guardian-type trees: hickory, sycamore, oak, to name a few. This is on one acre, in the middle of our little town. I grew up in a national forest, so I must have trees around to feel at home. Your property appreciates your thought and care, certainly. Have a wonderful week! Fall time is very evident today, my favorite time.
You got great soil, you need to be careful about the foundation and plumbing situation about the trees near the house due to the roots growing. I recall my dad and neighbors talking about this problem.
i am convinced that the trees are thriving so well because they are stimulated by the attention and love they receive every day, even to the pawprints wandering amongst them from happy dog energy. Beautiful video, looking just beyond your borders I can glimpse the barren fields. Have you done tours for local residents to inspire more plantings? Or is there resistance? I see you are on trend with the resurgence of wide leg jeans! Lovely.
Hi Terri - Your trees are sure loving their life! You have a green thumb. Seems everything you plant grows abundantly. It’s because you plant them with love and appreciation. I love trees too. I have lots of them around me. Have a great week ahead. See ya next week. Hugs! 🌲🌳🌿🪴🍁🍂💕☀️
Your land is beautiful with all the trees. There's nothing like the sounds of the leaves rustling while the wind blows. Your trees will seed other area's and populate the wild areas in Connemara. Nature is awesome like that!
You are very kind Deborah - thank you for asking. All is well - just had a leak and upheaval in the house. All on the mend now and see you tomorrow. xx
Hi Terry I watched your vlog on my daily 5 mile walk today I felt I was in Ireland with you I love your garden . Laul must be like my husband Paul he is a crafts man he makes me everything I ask for he is brilliant we are lucky woman but there lucky to have us lol I love listening to your knowledge thank you Sandra xx
Makes me think of the old saying"be careful what you pray for..." , amazing growth with that salt wind, no doubt the mother divine is about your place. For the tree by the window, you can limb it up- meaning trim all branches but the top crown, as it grows you'll have only the trunk to look past.
Looks fab to me I love trees I'm a tree hugger, wish🧚♀️ I had a garden big enough, must be such a peaceful place to live, thanks for the video ❤ 🏴
Thank you for this vid, I realy enjoy the tree story, wish you a good new year for planting more trees in Connemara, I live in Kinvara at the Galway bay and do my little bit in the garden.🌲🌴🌳
I live in Minnesota, USA . The southern half of the state is deciduous forest . The north is coniferous. I love trees . I would have a hard time living in an area without them . If I lived in Ireland or Scotland, I would be 9n a mission to plant trees to bring back ancient forest lands .
I've thought for a long time that if trees were planted at the edges of deserts, bit by bit more trees could be planted and possibly shrink the deserts into fertile growing areas. I love your tree 'problem,' as they drop seeds and the birds drop seeds you will have more =-) Take care and thank you for the vlog. =-) (I love your harakeke (New Zealand flax)
Check out "Greening The Desert" with Geoff Lawton. He has shown that with a little thought and care the very worst desert can be brought back to flourishing green life in just a few years. No chemicals and very cheap, just careful planning and nature does the rest. The reason we are not seeing this happen is, in my opinion, because our current economic system requires the condition of "scarecity" in order to thrive. Given half a chance the planet produces abundance! This is not good for the status quo.
Wonderful video. Trees certainly do grow and grow where they like. I have not had to plant anything but fruit trees on my land as there are volunteer white pines, alders, trembling aspen and even a willow, which I am amazed is thriving on my relatively dry land. I have three pines which have grown huge in a short time, and while I hate the idea of cutting one down, it is far too crowded with a maple in the mix as well. I may have my first real Yule tree in years. I will be keeping an eye on the smaller ones coming to see if they need a better spot while they are easier to move.
🤢Not nausea, simply green with envy.We are lucky and have a garden full of mature trees .......but I was determined to have a Rowan, they really don't like the Burgundian weather, the summers are too hot and dry .Your casual remark and in that patch there are several Rowans and I was quietly groaning 🙂 Peter says it was not so quietly, woops !
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Thank you for the kind offer ,but I do have a Rowan tree it's about 5 years old,but even with copious watering through the summer it never holds it's leaves or berries much past September ,though it has grown a bit in the time we've had it 😢
I find this myself and I think it is the mild wet climate here in Ireland, also you probably have an added advantage that the minerals from the Atlantic that get dumped adds to their growth! This year has been quite mad for growth. I have noticed there are twice as many berries, sloes, haws, rowan than any other year!
YES the trouble with trees!!! …. I love my trees…don’t get me wrong…but the trees on my property and around it, have grown so much that they shadow almost my whole yard and I’m unable to grow any vegetables or plants which require a lot of sun … our property isn’t that large and I’m not selfish enough to remove them …they are over the house now so it is not like I can just even trim them. I am resigned to just not grow sun loving plants. 😔
"He who plants a tree knowing he will never sit in its shade in his lifetime, has fully understood the meaning of life" Thank you I love your videos!
Thanks Sascha - lovely quotation. xx

Every time I watch your videos I feel I've come home. Your garden is beautiful, so full of life and loving heart energy.

It’s so beautiful to see your lush baby forest against the barren land. It’s so inspirational.
I am glad to hear that Amy. I hope people feel inspired to try and grow trees. xx

we tend to forget that Ireland was once almost completely under tree cover. You have obviously got some very happy elementals in your garden.
Hard to imagine in some places but you are right. We were all forest people once upon a time. xx
Your delight with the trees is contagious, Terri.
I can't help it - the growth this year has been phenomenal! xx
those dogs are enjoying the garden too!
They do - they have great fun! xx
Beautiful. Lovely to see someone planted Irish indigenous trees. 👏🕊🙏💚
Thanks Siobhán and it is lovely to see them growing too. xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden I was hoping they were indigenous. Wonderful!!!
I'm thinking the trees are also growing like they are because of the love and appreciation they are receiving from their caretaker - YOU!

That planting was in two stages - two and three years ago. I am thrilled with it all. xx
Beautiful 🌷 Thank you Terri 🌷🌷🌷
Glad you enjoyed it Abby. xx
What a joy it is to connect with my Irish hertiage through your explorations,
I especially enjoyed the irish soulful holy well.
It looked like a portal into the mystic realms.
It connected me to a part of my history i have never known in person.
Endless love from New Zealand .
Hope life comes unto you well,
Dan .

Thank you so much Dan. Very happy that you felt a connection to your heritage. It must be difficult being so far away. Love and blessings to you xx
❤ Thank u 🙏🏼
Hey Zanna, you are welcome xx
This is a lovely time of year - I think it is my favourite. I understand your need for trees - couldn't live without them. xx
You got great soil, you need to be careful about the foundation and plumbing situation about the trees near the house due to the roots growing. I recall my dad and neighbors talking about this problem.
It's ok, thanks for the warning but I don't have any trees that close. xx
i am convinced that the trees are thriving so well because they are stimulated by the attention and love they receive every day, even to the pawprints wandering amongst them from happy dog energy. Beautiful video, looking just beyond your borders I can glimpse the barren fields. Have you done tours for local residents to inspire more plantings? Or is there resistance? I see you are on trend with the resurgence of wide leg jeans! Lovely.
I hope so. No I haven't done any tours, no one has expressed interest. There are other people around, friends of mine, who grow trees too. xx
It is always a joy to spend time with you in your garden! Thank you for the delicious films!
It's a pleasure to have you here, watching and commenting xx
Hi Terri - Your trees are sure loving their life! You have a green thumb. Seems everything you plant grows abundantly. It’s because you plant them with love and appreciation. I love trees too. I have lots of them around me. Have a great week ahead. See ya next week.
Hugs! 🌲🌳🌿🪴🍁🍂💕☀️
Thanks so much Pam. I think these trees are happy - they have lots of company😃

Beautiful!💚
Wow amazing how quickly the trees grow. They look so healthy thanks to your loving care 🌳🌳
I am amazed at how well they have done. I think the land is just crying out for trees and has given lots of help xx
Absolutely lovely👋🥰👋
Thanks Lynda! xx
Your land is beautiful with all the trees. There's nothing like the sounds of the leaves rustling while the wind blows. Your trees will seed other area's and populate the wild areas in Connemara. Nature is awesome like that!
That is the intention in the long run. I love sitting under neath a tree and listening to the birds xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden me too🌲🌳
Thank you Terri x
You are welcome Dianne xx
Worried that we haven't heard from you in two weeks! I pray all is well!
You are very kind Deborah - thank you for asking. All is well - just had a leak and upheaval in the house. All on the mend now and see you tomorrow. xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden So relieved to hear you are well. Can't wait for tomorrow's piece!
Bless your heart. They all love and appreciate you.
I hope so - I love all of them xx
What a lovely piece of land Terri. Those trees look well loved!
They are Ness and very appreciated. xxx
We are indeed very lucky. Thanks for watching Sandra and glad you enjoyed it. xx
Raising the Tree Canopies would be of benefit
So wonderful of you both to share such natural beauty that you nurture. And so special you appreciate the space between the trees!
I am full of gratitude AmberHeart - trees are so special. xx
Makes me think of the old saying"be careful what you pray for..." , amazing growth with that salt wind, no doubt the mother divine is about your place. For the tree by the window, you can limb it up- meaning trim all branches but the top crown, as it grows you'll have only the trunk to look past.
Thanks for the tip - I will have to do that in another couple of years I suspect. x
Looks fab to me I love trees I'm a tree hugger, wish🧚♀️ I had a garden big enough, must be such a peaceful place to live, thanks for the video ❤ 🏴
You re welcome Jan - keep on hugging! xx
So wonderful. I would love to see your property from above.
Could try some shots from the upstairs! xx
Thank you for this vid, I realy enjoy the tree story, wish you a good new year for planting more trees in Connemara, I live in Kinvara at the Galway bay and do my little bit in the garden.🌲🌴🌳
Good for you Gerda - Happy New Year!
I live in Minnesota, USA . The southern half of the state is deciduous forest . The north is coniferous. I love trees . I would have a hard time living in an area without them . If I lived in Ireland or Scotland, I would be 9n a mission to plant trees to bring back ancient forest lands .
That's what is happening here.
Plant Hemp the industrial type, it is the solution for a sustainable future.
I love what you have done with your outdoor space! Its giving me so many ideas for planting different fruit trees and stuff!
Delighted to hear that Tryasavitsa - good luck with your ideas and enjoy your garden xx

Wonderful !! Thank you 🔆
You are welcome xx
If you haven't already heard it, have a listen to 'The memory of trees' by Enya. Perfectly fitting with your garden.
Thanks Andy!!
One bows to you in Homage young lady.
Young lady??!! Thank you so much! x
Sorry I forgot to say have a brilliant week can't wait for you're winter vlogs xx
Thanks Sandra. I'm looking forward to getting all cosy this year. xx
Have a look at "Greening the Desert" with Geoff Lawton - I think it is on UA-cam. See what he has done - your idea in practice xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Yes I have seen the clip and that it can happen, at some time I hope it is done on a larger scale. Take care =-)
thank you terri for showing us your wonderful garden.
Thanks for watching Jacqueline - so glad you are enjoying the garden. xx
I have to move a couple too while they are still young. Waiting for leaf fall and will do it then xx Your property sounds wonderful Brenda! xx
Plant Hemp the industrial type, it has many uses. Paper making, building, and so much more. It is self fertilizing.
Thank you.
I would love to have mature trees as well - do you want some Rowan seeds?
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Thank you for the kind offer ,but I do have a Rowan tree it's about 5 years old,but even with copious watering through the summer it never holds it's leaves or berries much past September ,though it has grown a bit in the time we've had it 😢
Ash And Elder love all the trees Mentioned what a spiritual Grove trimming?🙏 awesomeness have a good week 😀
You too - thanks! xx
I find this myself and I think it is the mild wet climate here in Ireland, also you probably have an added advantage that the minerals from the Atlantic that get dumped adds to their growth! This year has been quite mad for growth. I have noticed there are twice as many berries, sloes, haws, rowan than any other year!
Lots of blackberries and Hawthorn berries here! It has been a great year for growth. xx
Inspired by Bealtaine Cottage I planted many trees on my small allotment/garden as well and I know exactly what you're talking about 😉
Inspired by Bealtaine Cottage too. Wonderful "problems" we have😂
YES the trouble with trees!!! 😔
Maybe you could pollard them? I am sure your garden is very beautiful even so. xx
So very lovely, the idea of exhaling for the trees benefit.
Isn't it a lovely idea - mutual reciprocity. xx
