Danu, you are not alone. I bought my farm 26 years ago, and I did all the big work myself. Now I'm a 70-year-old woman, alone, and I have learned to delegate. First comes attention to anything with a heartbeat. Then the greenhouses. Then the garden. I have 7 acres of farm, and lots of refuse from the horrible winter. So I rented a 10-yard roll-off dumpster, which can be dropped anywhere you want and the huge back of it swings open so you have easy access to it. I trade and hire help. If you have a group of herbal students, maybe they will donate 2 day's worth of work for class? I would do a massive clean up first, and then start with a specific goal in mind such as "10 feet of wall today". Clean up the clutter or the weeds will take it over and then you have a big mess. The older I get, the more I respect and care for my shoulders, wrists, arms...ankles...and I don't try to pretend I'm still 20 anymore although mentally I feel fabulous. Clean up the hoop house, then you'll have room to store things like pots and rakes and it will give you a boost. That's my thought on your predicament because I've faced the same thing on a large scale. Stay focused and strong!
Anyone can make life look perfect on a youtube video, but seeing the human side of things can be so inspirational and we can all certainly bond together over the little mishaps and mistakes that happen to each and every one of us along the way! Thank you for sharing all of your triumphs as well as your woes in the garden. Your videos are wonderful and inspiring. Thank you for sharing them with all of us each week!
I just discovered your lovely channel. Your videos inspired me. I am 70 and just moved to the country and started my first garden - so late in life. I am so happy to be finally doing this. There is such a peace and tranquility and beautiful honesty in the garden.
You are so inspiring, Terri! Thank you for showing the difficult parts and the encouragement to keep at it!! I always find that a garden filled with untamed spirit has so much more scope for the imagination. Thank you for sharing yours.
I have learned that a garden is always in a state of becoming...a new lesson each year. We grow our garden and it grows us. It challenges us, nourishes and heals us. It's lessons are deep and abiding if we listen, it has much to teach.
How wonderful. I love all the work in progress and the beautiful flowers. I just love what looks like a straw and mud style house, it's so organic. 😍 I live in the countryside in N Germany. I was born in South Africa, although I am Italian. The weather is amazing in SA. But in N Germany it gets very cold, and windy much like Ireland. We have an old farm house built in 1699. Then we have a 2nd plot that went beserk. It was like a jungle. We asked a local farmer to come over with a tractor with jaws to grip the old bushes that had zero benefit and cleared the plot. Now we have a blank canvas to work with. I left some things. We need to get out all these deep roots. Level and add compost and manure. I'm going to start small. I totally understand how overwhelming it all gets. Having studied permaculture I have these great visions of what I would like, but it will take time. I love what you and Lol have created. Enjoy 💕👏👏💐
How exciting to be at the start of such a project. Take your time, and take photos so you can look back and see what it was like before you did anything. xx
Thank you for this beautiful garden tour, warts and all :) I have lots of warts in my gardens as well! It's rainy here in Maine, USA today, so I am looking out my window, from my bedroom, admiring all the compost I but down yesterday on the front gardens. My muscles are telling me I overdid it; but I so love being in the garden and being outside, just like you! I feel you are a soul sister. Thank you for all you do to care for Mother Earth. Blessings to you.
So encouraging - apart from my fruit trees, for so long, when I looked at my garden I felt so fainthearted as numerous weeds and a variety of grasses appeared everywhere! Since finding your channel, I am now thankful I absently 'neglected' it for the last 18 months. Instead of mowing, hedge cutting and strimming everything in site to create a traditional manicured area, it is now a beneficial haven for birds, insects and medicines for natural healing. I began my journey today making a tincture of whole dandelion. Thank you so much.
Thank you for giving a tour of your home and property. Your surroundings are part of a reflection of who you are and what you care about. Hearing your plans and some of your dreams makes your home space and your YT Channel even more inviting. Please continue to share!
Thanks so much for this video. My gardens are divided into a few areas. Soooo, some are more shaded, so hostas & azaleas line a short walkway going to the HVAC system. Then there is the dreaded slope that has many herbs nestled in with weeds! And then there is the small fenced area overflowing with flowers & weeds and where my grand dog loves to lay. She has no care about what plant she is crushing. She is not confined to that space, she just likes to be there. Then there are 2 raised beds, with various weeds, vegetables and the occasional day lillies. And lastly, a very shaded garden that is covered in a ground cover by the neighbors invasive species. I could work for the rest of my life and never have it as I imagined. But I am ok with this. I just do my part, and let what will be, be. So glad to see others have more projects than time. I still teach metals in my studio and have had Master gardeners take my classes. There is always advice as to how to make my gardens better, but I absolutely love my yard. And it isn’t all that big, but I do have quite a lot of plants.
The garden is looking great! you are correct the garden is always growing and changing, being redesigned and rebuilt - always becoming....and we are always growing as gardeners!
thank you for sharing all the work that needs to get done. I have been feeling so overwhelmed. You have encourged me to keep going, and acheiving even small tasks is fulling .
The wonderful thing about your homestead garden is that it is never finished! There’s always another project in progress, loads of land to work with, those lovely weeds give you so many ideas for creating medicine, food and endless crafting projects. The trees, herbs, orchards, flowers and shrubs are simply magical and you’re on the sea too which means that you have an abundance of seaweed/kelp and the joy of walking along the coastline with your feet in the sand. Last but not least you’re in beautiful Ireland 🇮🇪 the land of your ancestors surrounded by their memories and centuries of Celtic Folklore, Fairies and The Goddess, Anya 🌀 Your cottage house is quaint, cozy, and perfectly splendid! The the dogs and cats are such cheerful darling companions. This is why I so love coming to The British Isles, the birthplace of my own grandparents. 🌀 Blessed Be! ☘️☘️☘️
Thank you for your honesty. I think when people are not honest it can have a reverse effect and people end up being uninspired because it doesn’t feel achievable. I have a small 1970s terraced back garden but I also work long hours in the week and don’t have the time to work on it as I would like and so sometimes feel overwhelmed like you. However I dug out some photos of when we moved in almost 14 years ago. It was just lawn with a concrete path up the middle and no wildlife came. Slowly I have built this little haven for wildlife and when I see my blackbird and robin friends come to greet me, I feel as if this garden is my greatest achievement.
Absolutely!!! Our land was completely barren when I started gardening. That was about 12/15 years ago and looking at photos it is such a surprise because we are so used to this garden now. Even looking at photos from 3 or 4 years ago the change and the growth is incredible. It is worth keeping a visual record to boost ourselves when we feel there is a lot to do. I feel the same too - my greatest achievement, (apart from my daughters😀) xx
@6:31"We've made a lot of work for ourselves" awww😟 Yes, it appears so--BUT mad respect for the way you graciously take responsibility for it 👏No playing the victim, no excuses, just honestly assessing the situation. GREAT example to emulate! Additionally, your poise throughout--especially with this topic --its a delight. God's blessings to you from Alabama, USA💕
Even with the flaws it is still a wonderful place to be... this garden of yours. I Envy, but with good love and would hope through my own effects and work I would have my own garden to admire as well. Thank you so much for your ideas and sharing your blessings with us. 🥰🙏 Ase!
Ah, the joys of home ownership - the jobs never end! We all have those neglected places in our garden too! I too get overwhelmed but you are so right just look around and see what you have accomplished. It feels so good to get outside after the long winter - I have really been neglecting the inside of my house and this rainy day I'll give it a good clean and tidy up. Thanks for sharing - love all your plans and projects - inspires me! Blessings
Hello beautiful friend ! Everything looks like it’s popping out , and here too .. I’m loving it , I have changed things around , moved plants , mulched some , added a little fence so my dogs won’t get out , and the neighbors dog don’t get in .. there is still a lot to do , but I really enjoy it . I love being outdoors & it’s so rewarding! ❤
Nice to see the Green Shield Bug on a nettle leaf. I've photographed a few species of them with my Macro system camera, I like them! It's a good idea to show your garden as an evolving project, rather than a small utopia. Some people seeing, or hearing a beautiful piece of work, can become overwhelmed and dismayed. They may have wanted to learn to play the guitar for example. This happened to me twice, I'm sorry to say. A person asked if I'd teach them to play guitar, I said I would. I was then asked to play something for them. I've been playing for a good number of years. I played a piece, they were upset, saying there was no way they could ever do that. They decided not to learn to play. was unable to talk them round. I was so upset, I felt bad about it for a long time. What was I supposed to do though, play a nursery rhyme? One plays or works at the level one has reached, there is always more to learn. I think best the solution, where possible, is to give reissuance at the start. Your wonderful video today, demonstrates that what one sees, is not what lies behind it. Like life, it's a work in progress. A Chinese proverb applies here: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" Concentrate on one aspect at a time, the feeling of achievement tends to encourage one to carry on to the next part. Love and blessings to all. Gordon.
You are so right Gordon in everything you say. "There is always more to learn" and I would add, especially in your case with the guitar - there is no point hiding your light or talent just to make other people feel better. Love and blessings to you too xx
Terry.. thank you for transporting me for a few short minutes ... love to see Galway and hear the wind and birds ... see the sky, the sea, and the Bens. I find your land and gardens enchanting, and a refreshing balance between tame and wild. There is nothing healthy or natural about an overly tended garden. You're living my dream Terry. You have an abundance of ambition! All the blessings of Bealtaine!
Thanks for your lovely comment. Do you know this part of Galway? I think you are right - there is no life in an over tended garden. Bealtaine blessings to you too - I will try to keep transporting you every week xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Hi Terry, my mother is from East Galway and moved to the states in her early 20s, always regretting it (she moved home at 70 and lived happily til she was 92). I spent summers in Galway as a child. I've spent a good amount of time tripping around Connemara ... and now partially retired, I spend some of my late winter and early spring in Ireland. Hopefully, I'll manage more time in the summer in a few years too. Thank you so much for your wonderful sharing!
Terri there will always be something else needing attention. If its not the garden it's the house. When the weathers good I work outside when it's wet I work indoors. U can't ask any more of yourself girl.... you'll get there.
BTW, I want to add that the natural laundry detergent idea from one of your videos was amazing! Thank you so much for sharing that. I even used it to clean an old oven covered in grease and oils and it did an amazing job to clear it all out. Even my mom was impressed with how clean I left the stove top. I'm going to try it out on the bath tub, after I hand wash (using a manual washing machine) the shirts, and see if this stuff can finally be the solution I need to finally get rid of the grime and oily residue off the tub. That has been a mission impossible to have that bathroom clear of the film of nasty gunk that is on it. Thank you again for all of your awesome ideas and tip-bits. Ase! For those wondering which video I am referring to, here is a link to it... ua-cam.com/video/VfbV0swKRvI/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Danu%27sIrishHerbGarden
Your garden is like mine, they both have lovely areas as well as their own set of warts. In showing us yours, we can delight with you in the progress, no matter how big or small, that's made. Thank you for sharing with us!
Hi Terri thankyou for the tour of your work in progress garden, yes it is very important to grow your own food so I strongly encourage everyone to grow whatever food that you can. I look forward to these little clips every Sunday as they are such a joy to watch.
Thank you for sharing your lovely garden and for the reminder that having many projects to work on is a blessing. It can be overwhelming at times but it is a wonderful feeling to look back at what you have accomplished. Thank you again for the inspiration.
Happy Beltane. The garden is wonderful to see as you say warts & all. It’s so uplifting to watch all the progress your making. Thanks as always Terri 🏴
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden I'm a Nrit now living in Alberta, western Canada. Spring is virtually non- existent here & the growing season is almost supernaturally rapid ! I have to dig thru permafrost to get young trees in, as I did last year. Trying more on veggies now & installed a small greenhouse which the toms loved. One day I'll take one of your courses - so much to love about your work 💚🪷
Love the title ❤️ You still have a beautiful homestead. We know we are full of life when we have so many projects. True it can be overwhelming at times. Then I here my father's voice in my head, all the wisdom. So I now make a plan and check it off as I go. Start with the smaller projects first and complete them. While giving allotted time daily for bigger projects.
Me too. Our land gets out of hand every year but nature often surprises us with an unexpected treasure like a new Rowan sapling or hellebore seedlings.
Nature loves a diverse portfolio. I've spent the last few days in my little community garden plot and just caring for a 12 x 12 foot area is a lot of work. I can only imagine the amount of energy it will take to tackle your projects. One thing at a time wins the day. 😊❤
Thank you for sharing your work& best of time doing and getting it finished this summer! 😊 Looking forward to your herbal videos and anything you like share ❤❤. I am recent subscriber and haven't met Loll yet, who is it? I think he's your spouse.😊 😊❤
Thank you Terri and Lol. There is beauty in truth. I no longer feel so badly about the state of my yard/garden. Mine will be a year long, work in progress too. Springtime here has been very wet and cold. Your videos are both inspiring and encouraging. See you next week!
Interesting idea of managing plastics. I will have to look into it. Here in w. texas the sun is bad about drying out plastic and making it brittle. It might be something that works here.
Sometimes when I feel overwhelmed I take out the hedge trimmer and start cutting a small area where needed. Immediately one can see progress. Tho little, it clears the head, and priorties then make themselves known. Just taking that first action is key for me. Love your gracious attitude, natural gardens, and precious animals. Have a cup of tea, deep a peaceful mind, and all will eventually get done in time.
Thank you it makes me realize im not really failing. I have learned......If you dont plant something....God will! I have a yard mowing guy coming to help me clean up all the trees, shrubs and weeds.
Makes me feel more peaceful about parts of my chaotic garden. All the things that you and lol do is simply amazing and so beautiful. Thanks for sharing🥰
Wow Terry the Herb Shed looks so quirky and magical! How nice of you to show us ‘warts and all’ what you’ve done looks gorgeous, so much to attend to! 🌀 happy Bealtaine! I also love the guitar music in every video!
Happy Bealtaine to you too Miranda. I do love my garden and it does have its beauty spots but lots of work to do. Lol will be delighted you are enjoying the music. xx
Nature is always challenging us isn’t it? When left to her own devices, she wastes no time in making her own plan. LOL. No sooner have I planted an herb that it takes off in all directions. It’s a “catch me if you can” game. But it’s my passion and great love so, I smile, get on with it and thank the opportunity to learn from her.
Many Thanks for your candid honesty .A great film and music ! Its good to show the good, bad and the ugly thats what makes life real. Your films are inspiring I love your garden and the doggies and cats best of luck with all your projects, you two are amazing. Bealtaine wishes Love from Canada Denise xo
Thank you for sharing Terri. Most definitely not "just a shed" what a beautiful herb shed. Lol has done an amazing job. Can see the detail and craftmanship in the build. Love your analogy's and thoughts they always resonate with me. Much love to you both xx
You and your channel are such a gift. I'm incorporating your videos into my daily lessons as we homeschool. Adore you. Thank you for sharing your spirit🌟
@Danu's Irish Herb Garden do you have a favorite herbal tinture/ slave cookbook that I could add to my homeschool? I want my children to have as much information possible and having it in one place might be a great place to start.
Overwhelmed is a state of being these days. Isn't it? There are so many things I need to get done in order to be as self sufficient as possible. Doing it alone means constantly managing the many irons I have in the fire. I applaud you both for continuing to move forward. I wish we were neighbors I'd come and help. Continued blessings, Terri. Happy Spring!
I was more or less forced to stay on my tiny place due to work loss. This is a great blessing as a lot of natural things built up around that I couldn't get to having to work off site fixing cars etc. The build up was quite substantial and I was a little frustrated two. Two things come to mind, make sure one makes a peaceful spirit with contentment a habit. Then, with your basic organized "to do" list, be flexible and not to worry or stress at all. Second, an old timer told be once (before I became an old timer) ... "Inch by inch anything is a cinch". ... coupled with "avoid the alligators". The latter one has to do with not being pulled into something that takes a huge amount of time and it keeps taking it. ... Keep a good sense of humor and it is good to learn from you folks.
Ohh boy, I feel so overwhelmed and sore. I feel like I have soo much to do even though everyday I'm doing soo much. This video makes me feel less alone. I know everyone starts somewhere and one day having something beautiful, a place that the birds and bees love is what keeps me going. Thank you for sharing 💚
Terri, you and Lol are so inspiring. I love your Warts and All honest garden tour, and everything else. Thank you from New Zealand, the other side of the world. You make our world a more connected and friendly planet.
Thank you for the inspiration ........yes sometimes its hard to know where to start and to know what needs to be done in the order of necessity isnt always clear..but looking at what has been done can show that things are possible and doable ..so the things that seem impossible become possible
Thank you Terri for such an honest look at your garden. I too find it so easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work that needs to be done to keep on top of everything, especially in a large garden. I love how you keep everything in perspective, even though there's a lot to be done, you still enjoy what you have, and what you have done. You truly are a wonderful inspiration.
Thank you for a lovely visit. The garden is ever evolving. I love Lunaria and two years ago I gathered bundles of the dried stems and “moons” and placed bunches in bare spots around my forest garden. Now the luminous purple is dotted all around my forest garden. This flower seems to glow at dawn and dusk. Blessings🐇🐇
How refreshing to see a “warts and all” UA-cam video! So much of what I see is “picture-perfect” and “Instagram-worthy” and very intimidating to try to measure up to. These videos show curated and edited versions of people’s lives and homes, and while they look pretty they make it hard for we regular people to compare ourselves to! I appreciate your honesty in showing and telling how much work goes into your home and garden, and how sometimes you just can’t get it all done when you want to!!
oye...yup in the same boat. My challenge is that I still think I am 26 and my body reminds me I am 59. So they argue quite a bit. lol....This year we have had to completely move our garden area. The last couple years we have not had a ton of rain like we use to in the spring, and our summers are getting hotter. So we are planting almost everything in partial shade and they are doing as well as what they use to do in full sun, if not better. So we have A LOT of work ahead of us this summer and fall. I love your gardens and how they are a journey of sorts. Thank you for sharing your home.
Good morning Terri and Lol yours is a working garden, changes, renewals, weather happenings etc. I liken it to the messy desk a, busy, working garden. I know you possibly think on this but how about wwoofing...you are sustainable organic. So many people would love to be in your space helping out. Lovely time spent with you. Hugs from Oz.
My desk is even more messy😂 Thanks for the suggestion, We had woofers and other volunteers for a number of years but didn't really work out. xx Hugs to you - Happy Samhain down there. xx
You are such a joy to watch. Thank you for your honesty. I too, had a wonky year in 2022 with two accidents and Storm Arwen blew out the glass greenhouse. I am finally back on my feet with a full head to clean up, clear up and grow, grow, grow. It's a challenge to do alone, but it's all worth it. Well wishes to you and you finally get the jobs done and it will all come to fruition with your positive mind set. I adore your garden (and dogs). Thank you.
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden my best therapy is the garden and Mother Nature. I've been able to catch up on some of your videos. I love the one about blackberries. On my list of foraged fruits this year.
Definitely! - I don't think perfection is beauty. Beauty is where the imperfection highlights the other bits. You know what I mean. It is the imperfection that gives character and interest otherwise everything would be bland and boring. Same with people xx
Thank you Terri, for a lovely guided tour, so beautiful and peaceful, and no noisy neighbours! Nature abhors a vacuum and soon fills it. I planted fruit trees over 10 years' ago just as little twigs and they are now massive. You are very inspiring and I have hit on my overgrown patch at the bottom of a very long garden and embarking on raised beds and using up and recycling some old timber. Watch this space ! As ever, it makes my day seeing those furry angels, Jazz is so funny chewing that rope. A happy Beltane, blessed be to you the bairns and Lol, who does the great photography x
Oh my goodness. This is so uncanny. I recently found your channel and immediately allured & motivated. Terri, the timing of this specific video is so uncanny. Last night I was watching an older video of yours. Your very talented camera-husband had a stunning shot of a spot in your garden backlit by the sun. It was absolutely beautiful! There was a shot of something that looked like a silver dollar but it appeared orange. There were beautiful flowers surrounding the silver dollar. I did an intense Google search and could not find anything explaining the growth cycle, the metamorphosis of this plant. Imagine the serendipity I felt when I began watching this video! Thank you so much for sharing your garden and knowledge. I have been very motivated, encouraged and, surprisingly, successful in my gardening lately. I have become more mindful in the plants I buy. I want to know their purpose within the ecosystem and medicinal and culinary uses. Now to continue watching the video. Joanne, North Carolina mountains USA.
Lots of things happening like that these days. I think time is warping or something - something to do with the sun's behaviour and the planetary movements xx
Busy busy! We just spent two days wrestling our tiny front garden's climbing rose and just that small task absolutely wore me out! You're right though about doing things bit by bit; it's so easy to keep finding things to fix and get overwhelemed, but stepping back and seeing your own progress is super important and encouraging. Thank you so much for producing content that is---well, _honest_ and down-to-earth. It makes gardening and medicine making feel much more approachable to learn and practice.
Delighted to hear that you think that. I am so glad that this content might make it all seem natural and normal for people to make their gardens and medicine xx
I so appreciate you showing your warts, Terri. We have the same warts lol. I'm seeing a lot of other folks within this sort of community voicing similar thoughts, and I think it's very cathartic to see others struggling with the same sort of overwhelm. Baby steps is so important to remember!! Thank you!!
I love your candid video. So many other channels are always picture perfect as if it's so easy to make it so. Gardens and homes are so much work, but so worth it!
I love this video so much, Terri. I live in the US (New Hampshire) and moved to the country for the first time in my life in 2020. I'm 69 now and live alone. It's paradise here, but when spring and summer come, Bug Season arrives, and it is truly monstrous. Mostly the ticks, black flies, and deer flies make it almost impossible for me to garden. I named my garden Mystery Garden last year because I finally just let it go. Amaranth appeared out of nowhere and grew to 8 feet tall. There are beautiful wild weeds growing profusely here - Yarrow, Mullein, St. John's Wort, Mugwort, etc., etc. This year I'm going to be in observation mode and only do what I can. We have a wonderful farmer's market, and I like to support the farmers. Thanks for your honesty and, OMG your herb hut/house!! Beyond precious, and I'm wondering when the fairies will move in there!! :) 🧚♀🧚♀🧚♀💚
Your comment is encouraging. I’m 66 this summer and live in Edmonton, Canada. I grew up on Air Force bases and have always wanted to move out of the city to an old farmhouse with a few acres. My husband says we’re too old while my niece says “we are not to old and it is not too late”. Your experience gives me hope I might be able to convince him. No ticks here, they are too afraid of our enormous mosquitos.
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Terri, I have been binge-watching your videos since a friend recently signed up for your course and told me about you. I've gone all the way back to your first video and am working my way forward. Absolutely love them and they're feeding my love of Ireland. I hope to return one day. As for the bugs, well, it feels silly to complain about them, but those deer flies take a chunk out of you and easily get infected. I've learned how to cope and have promised myself not to complain too much this year. We always hope for the wind to reach a certain level to blow them all away! The ticks, well, that's another story. I refuse to buy into the fear but they're just nasty and not fun to deal with when you live alone! Ok, enough complaining! Happy Belated Beltaine! 💚
@@janeandclementine Oh my goodness, you are NOT too old! I'm not gonna lie - the move itself was stressful (always is, no matter what age) but it was the best thing I've ever done. I had a mantra - "I want to live somewhere where I can walk out my door into the woods, and I can see mountains." I wish I could share a photo here because that is exactly where I landed. Total manifestation. I hope you can convince your husband! And, lol about the mosquitos! :)
Thankyou so relaxing watching your videos.❤ Right before you say goodbye in video and it cuts to 🐕, I can see so many orbs or fairies flying all around and past you. Might be insects but I think it's other friends. Xxx
Thank you so much. I have been ill for the last 2 years and hardly be able to keep up. You have inspired me to continue, despite the real challenge and continued health problems.
Oh thank you Terri, I also feel very over whelmed, usually I am enthused with the work but this year had back and health issues so feel well behind. We grow a lot of our food and have a self reliant life like yourselves, with so many projects to carry out to keep us running I feel the same, where do I start?I will also do a plan with the most important jobs, inside and out and also joyful jobs, to get back on tract and feel more positive. Thank you for sharing your truths and triumphs, wish you health and energy
In the same position. Just employed part-time gardener, 8 hrs per week for two months only. He is fantastic, I finally feel I will get back on track. As we get older it gets harder, but I love my garden, it's an extention of myself.
Thanks , Terri, for sharing the reality most gardeners face: Inspiration/ Being Overwhelmed. My inspiration, momentum, and energy have a good run until the hot weather & mosquitoes arrive.
Well…as you probably know…the true beauty is in the process and the love of it …you have lots to do but it will all get done slowly❣️thank you for sharing, I don’t feel so alone and overwhelmed now with the work I have ahead of me here in my garden in Elora🌷🌷🌷
Thank you for lifting my spirits once again. I am one of five sisters and although we are American born we share English, Portuguese and Italian blood. However, I must say that many psychics have told us all of past lives in Ireland. Many of my cousins have had the same experiences with psychics. As a child I celebrated Saint Patrick’s day as if it was Christmas morning. I still feel this strong pull towards Ireland. And watching you I simply know me and mine have walked Irish ground before. Much success to you with your endeavors
I am like you and there is so may projects to do. Thanks for the encouragement and the honest look at what the during the project looks like. Have a lovely Beltaine!

It is. Very glad to hear that xx
That’s the truth never ending no one enjoys my garden more than me they rather be watching TV than working with me in my garden go figure .. lolol
You are so inspiring, Terri! Thank you for showing the difficult parts and the encouragement to keep at it!! I always find that a garden filled with untamed spirit has so much more scope for the imagination. Thank you for sharing yours.
I agree - it is that raw, uncompromising spirit that I relish. xxx
Still lovely garden and very green and lush 💚 you do such a good job.
Yes, the garden has some beautiful and peaceful, magical spots so I'm not complaining. xx
She explains how I feel about my garden..
Ha ha - all in the same club!
Your garden is still
Beautiful with projects and all 👍💕
I think so - thanks Beth xx
I have learned that a garden is always in a state of becoming...a new lesson each year. We grow our garden and it grows us. It challenges us, nourishes and heals us. It's lessons are deep and abiding if we listen, it has much to teach.
Well said! I totally agree. We become interconnected, entangled and related xx
Such beautiful insights into gardens.
How wonderful. I love all the work in progress and the beautiful flowers. I just love what looks like a straw and mud style house, it's so organic. 😍
I live in the countryside in N Germany.
Many blessings to you too Venus. I quite like that aching muscle feeling from a job well done - very satisfying isn't it xx
Oh Saphen - that is such great news. I am delighted for you and for all the birds and insects too. Brilliant news, thanks for sharing xx
Thank you for giving a tour of your home and property. Your surroundings are part of a reflection of who you are and what you care about. Hearing your plans and some of your dreams makes your home space and your YT Channel even more inviting. Please continue to share!
Oh thank you so much xx
It sounds wonderful. Our garden just evolved too - couldn't have planned it to turn out like this but it is exactly as I wanted it xx
The garden is looking great! you are correct the garden is always growing and changing, being redesigned and rebuilt - always becoming....and we are always growing as gardeners!
And that is what makes every day so interesting xx
thank you for sharing all the work that needs to get done. I have been feeling so overwhelmed. You have encourged me to keep going, and acheiving even small tasks is fulling .
I just love crossing something off the list😀 - very encouraging. xx
Thank you Terri. Always a pleasant time to watch your videos. Cheers
Thanks Laura - glad you enjoyed it xx
The wonderful thing about your homestead garden is that it is never finished! There’s always another project in progress, loads of land to work with, those lovely weeds give you so many ideas for creating medicine, food and endless crafting projects. The trees, herbs, orchards, flowers and shrubs are simply magical and you’re on the sea too which means that you have an abundance of seaweed/kelp and the joy of walking along the coastline with your feet in the sand. Last but not least you’re in beautiful Ireland 🇮🇪 the land of your ancestors surrounded by their memories and centuries of Celtic Folklore, Fairies and The Goddess, Anya 🌀
Your cottage house is quaint, cozy, and perfectly splendid! The the dogs and cats are such cheerful darling companions. This is why I so love coming to The British Isles, the birthplace of my own grandparents. 🌀
Blessed Be! ☘️☘️☘️
Blessings to you Kimberly - you have summed it all up so well - that is why I feel so much gratitude every day. xxx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden You are a kindred spirit ✨✨✨
Thank you Terri, been struggling lately, needed to hear that bit by bit. 💕💕
One step at a time - you'll be grand Helen. Take everything in your stride. xx Big Hugs!
Thank you Clark - I really appreciate your comment. xx
This came at the exact right moment for me. Thank you for the honesty tour!
You're welcome xx
I love your shed ❤
Even with the flaws it is still a wonderful place to be... this garden of yours. I Envy, but with good love and would hope through my own effects and work I would have my own garden to admire as well. Thank you so much for your ideas and sharing your blessings with us. 🥰🙏 Ase!
With good love and your own efforts you will create a magnificent garden xx
Ah, the joys of home ownership - the jobs never end! We all have those neglected places in our garden too! I too get overwhelmed but you are so right just look around and see what you have accomplished. It feels so good to get outside after the long winter - I have really been neglecting the inside of my house and this rainy day I'll give it a good clean and tidy up. Thanks for sharing - love all your plans and projects - inspires me! Blessings
You should see the state of my house!!!😂 Although i did give my work room a good tidy the other day xx
It is rewarding and so much more enjoyable changing things now and again rather than being stuck with everything perfect and in its place xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Inever thought of it in that way, thank you. X
Terry.. thank you for transporting me for a few short minutes ... love to see Galway and hear the wind and birds ... see the sky, the sea, and the Bens.
The shed looks like a little hobbit house 😻 absolutely beautiful!!! 🍄🇳🇱✨
Terri there will always be something else needing attention. If its not the garden it's the house. When the weathers good I work outside when it's wet I work indoors. U can't ask any more of yourself girl.... you'll get there.
Great simple advice PAt xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Yes I second that x
Ase!

@@DanusIrishHerbGarden I'm a Nrit now living in Alberta, western Canada. Spring is virtually non- existent here & the growing season is almost supernaturally rapid !
A wise man! My list of jobs does help to stop the overwhelm xx
I appreciated and am so encouraged by this video. Thank you for sharing and keeping it real. You inspired me!
Brilliant! xx
That's right Dwayne - once it starts happening you get the momentum xx
Thank you for sharing your work& best of time doing and getting it finished this summer! 😊 Looking forward to your herbal videos and anything you like share ❤❤. I am recent subscriber and haven't met Loll yet, who is it? I think he's your spouse.😊 😊❤

Thank you Terri and Lol. There is beauty in truth. I no longer feel so badly about the state of my yard/garden. Mine will be a year long, work in progress too. Springtime here has been very wet and cold. Your videos are both inspiring and encouraging. See you next week!
Don't feel bad, you are doing the best with time you have - I say this to myself too😂
Interesting idea of managing plastics. I will have to look into it. Here in w. texas the sun is bad about drying out plastic and making it brittle. It might be something that works here.
Goodmorning dear terri. Happy Sunday, x😊I am going to watch your film, comment afterwards 😊xx

A wonderfully reassuring film 😊 we're all only human .At last our bluebells are flowering.Bealtaine blessings xx
Bealtaine blessings to you too Mary. The Bluebells are still going strong here, they are so beautiful xx
Great tip - great approach xx
Thank you it makes me realize im not really failing. I have learned......If you dont plant something....God will! I have a yard mowing guy coming to help me clean up all the trees, shrubs and weeds.

So true - "catch me if you can"! I agree - learn from the best - Mother Nature xx

Wow! I am honoured and well done you - for educating your children with practical information that is for life and will help them in the future. xx
I would help you too Lisa and I applaud for doing it on your own. We can send each other and everyone else, some energetic support xx
Welcome
Thanks David - that is really excellent advice and obviously a very wise old timer . xx
You are absolutely right. Each little bit gives encouragement. xx
It all looks beautiful to me.
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing … it certainly helps with the much needed patience with gardening ❤
Blessings🐇🐇
It does doesn't it and then again when it is silvery. Blessings to you too xx
Thank you Jenny - so glad you feel that way - I do too. I like to see evidence of real life with real people and perfection doesn't appeal xx
This is exactly what I needed to hear today. So often you tube videos just show the perfect. Thank You.
Don't you just love synchronicity. xx Glad it turned up for you at the right time xx
oye...yup in the same boat.
You're welcome and yes, it is a lovely journey xx Good luck with your harvest !
Thank you so very much, Terri and whomever films you and does such amazing job!!!!!!!!!! Blessings!!!!!!!!! Gorgeous garden!!!!!!
The film maker is Lol, my husband. He will be delighted at your comment xx
Thank you.
I hope you have recovered from your accidents Nikki and glad you are on your feet again. Best wishes to you and blessings on the work xx

Thank you for the "honesty" and showing the imperfections. It's nice to know that beauty doesn't require perfection!

There is a lot of work but your garden is beautiful and the doggies!
Lots of hard work ahead but so worth it. The plants reward us xx
Working my small piece of ground. It’s good for the soul and spirit. Have a great and productive week Terri❤
I will Susanna - my list is ready😂. Enjoy your week too
Even your warts are beautiful 💚🌿

A beautiful day and coming week to you too. xx
I so appreciate you showing your warts, Terri. We have the same warts lol. I'm seeing a lot of other folks within this sort of community voicing similar thoughts, and I think it's very cathartic to see others struggling with the same sort of overwhelm. Baby steps is so important to remember!! Thank you!!

I grew some Amaranth one year - it was so beautiful and unusual. Sounds like you are in a herbalist's paradise. Hope you don't get too many bites. xx
Thank you for your content. I enjoy watching you all and learning from you. God bless you💖
Blessings to you too. Glad you enjoy the films xx
You make my day everytime you wander through your garden. Your kind manner and the love of your space calms my sometimes frazzled reality!
👣🎶🍃🧡🍂
I'm glad to hear the films help you to calm down. xx
I hope you are on the road to recovery. Do continue - it will be so beneficial for you - but don't over do it until you have full strength back xx
Isn't it good to know we are all in the same boat with the same love for our gardens xx
Glad to know I am not the only one xx
Perfect timing for this video. Thank you! Throughly enjoyed it ❤
Glad to hear that xx
I really enjoyed seeing all the projects you both have going. Thanks for showing us some behind the scenes goodies. :-) Happy Bealtaine!!
Bealtaine Blessings to you too xx
Wonderful
Well…as you probably know…the true beauty is in the process and the love of it …you have lots to do but it will all get done slowly❣️thank you for sharing, I don’t feel so alone and overwhelmed now with the work I have ahead of me here in my garden in Elora🌷🌷🌷
I know that it will all be done. Just keep the head down and keep going xx
absolutely wonderful ❤❤
It sounds as a working progress to me, well done, never give up!💚💛
Never💪 xx
Thank you for lifting my spirits once again. I am one of five sisters and although we are American born we share English, Portuguese and Italian blood. However, I must say that many psychics have told us all of past lives in Ireland. Many of my cousins have had the same experiences with psychics.
As a child I celebrated Saint Patrick’s day as if it was Christmas morning. I still feel this strong pull towards Ireland. And watching you I simply know me and mine have walked Irish ground before.
Much success to you with your endeavors
How interesting! Thanks for sharing xx
I am like you and there is so may projects to do. Thanks for the encouragement and the honest look at what the during the project looks like. Have a lovely Beltaine!
Bealtaine blessings to you too. Good luck with your projects too. xx
