Not the Thin Lip, as caught here. But the Thick Lip Mullet, are the hardest fighting fish, pound for pound, in European waters. It's odd though, as the Thins go much better than shown here, if you get them on the float with bread.
Funnily enough I’ve just watched Tom from Christchurch Angling mullet spinning on what looks like exactly the same stretch. I must make the journey one day, it looks like brilliant fun.
I spent many hours as a kid watching mullet follow my spinners but never take them! The only way I ever caught them was with a tiny blob of cheese - plastic rag worm seems very effective. Great video.
Stunning Mullet, do a lot of Bass fishing but not tried Mullet, will definitely give it a go after watching your excellent video, quick question what net are you using, thanks for sharing, tight lines
I spent some time bobbing up and down in Port Stanley Harbour a few years back. There was a strange fish there that the locals called Mullet. We spun for them but tipped the hook with fillet steak!.. they were very obliging :)
Hi. Your video is excellent! With this kind of retrieve (medium/slow) your lure is moving near the bottom, near the surface, one meter down the surface? Where (in depth) usually we could find mullets with spinning? Changing the retrieve up and down or using a heavier lure would change a bad day to a succesful one? Thank you very much. Welcome to the UK bone fish equivalent sort of....some anglers Have a blind spot with how to tackle these fish ....did not expect you to be one of them...thick lippers fight even harder I would say... ..scale on hook indicates foul hook contact..with a scaled fish...
Yep, it’s been an eye opener. Most of my angling has been fresh water so it’s good to be learning lots of new techniques on salt water. Ever managed to get a thick lip to take a spinner?
No but it may be possible....free lining or light ledgering or waggler float the latter being very effective with long medium action rod ... depending on location

Interesting- I fished throughout the summer of 2005 for the abundant mullet in the old ruined harbour of Port Carlisle on the Solway. I fished with Course tactics; floats, bread, bubble floats all sorts……..I caught NOTHING! Occasionally I got a take but nothing on the strike! I am going to try this. They always seem like they might be hard fighting like a really good Chub.
Pound for pound one of hardest fighting fish you can catch anywhere in the world in my humble opinion 😂great vid 🎣🎣🎣
Over shadowed by bass and wrasse on lures , but an awesome fish to catch 👍👍

Nice Catch!!!
Brilliant, bass and mullet !
Yeah, had a few bass on this method too. Been enjoying salt water atm 👍👍👍
Really interesting. I'm giving this a try for sure. Thanks for the info 👍
Definitely give it a go! Let me know how you get on 👍👍👍

Thanks! Seems like a real bit of rag is even more effective, but do rate the isome fake rag 👍👍👍
Nice catches👌
Nice one 👍👍👍 Thanks for checking it out 😁🎥
Nice one 👍👍👍 Thanks for checking it out 😁🎥
Loved it 👏
Cheers mate. Something different and a lot of fun! 🎣🎣🎣
Great video mate. It also works with only one hook.
Cheers mate. I was advised that the pennel keeps the isome worm ‘straight’, but did wonder if a single would be enough. 👍

Thanks for the kind comment 👍👍👍 was the Korum Snapper Fast Net 👍👍
Superb 🎣👍🏼
Thanks for checking it out 👍👍🎥
Wow! Tried for a mullet in a local harbour but they weren't having any of it 😂.
Give it a try, might unlock it for you!!!

Nice vid. How on earth do you rig up those skinny iso worms onto a penel? I can't get them to go on straight

Hadir mantap spot nya luar biasa bos ku seaht selalu 👍 sukses selalu bos ku 👍👍❤❤❤
Brilliance, still need to get my first Mullet, that take was awesome 😎 😆 Jesus Christ!!!
We’ll catch plenty from the yaks 👌👌👌👍 cheers mate!
I'm guessing that where you missed the fish and had a scale on the hook it had probably hit the spinner rather than the trailer?
Exactly what I was thinking. Next year I might compare the straight spinner to this rig over a few sessions 👍
