He has obviously never fished for them. I have caught hundreds on this method and seen thousands more follows . All fish landed hooked in the mouth. Good luck in showing him how it’s done. There’s other videos on my channel showing it in action
Very occasionally you will get a thick lipped but very, usually in autumn, perhaps the behaviour changes slightly. But that’s like 1 in 200 kind of odds. It is effective for golden grey mullet though
@@carperblue cheers Mate, I’m going to have a bash for mullet soon but I think thick lipped are the predominant species up here. Going to try ledger fishing first with popped up bread and hopefully get a video on it.
Cheers David, thank you for your comment and encouragement. I have another version now that I may share. Not that it really needed improvement as it’s very productive, there’s a mullet madness video too, check it out. but I always like to try and think how can something be bettered. I have two instagram accounts one as Carperblue Fishing and the other has some fishing stuff but also the family. I don’t really do much on there but please feel free to check it out
@@daviddevine1757 thank you, I have been doing a lot of work but now have a small area dedicated to doing editing, so there will be a bit more frequent videos
Good vid! was thinking about making the trip to Christchurch myself, so was wondering how much ragworm I would need for a typical full days fishing. Also do you buy your rag locally or order it in advance from somewhere near to the venue
Hi Pete be lovely to see you if you can make it. I taken mine with me as previously had trouble getting it at Christchurch. You don’t need much half pound is plenty for two days
you can get your rag from christchurch angling or 914 tackle in pokesdown. i get through about 15 to 20 on a typical session , depends how voracious the bait robbing little checker Bass are on the day...
Made one of these and my cousin tells me its barbaric and it looks like a fouling rig 😂 hell get a shock when i pull up a fatty mullet one day

Cheers Garry, looks like a very effective method mate. Is it just the thin lipped mullet you catch with that method?

Always had most of my thick lipped, free lined or float fishing. But the boys do get them on the ledger and feeder
Great video Garry, love the tip re baiting the rag "no twist" as this can sometimes be a problem ...I've found😬😬👌👍, some nice underwater footage bud😍
Thanks Danny, hope to see you on the next one
Mate are you on instagram? That other vid on how to make the rig is great cheers.
