    Just wanted to tell you that I have learned the most from your website and I wanted to thank you. I am 77 years old and never knew until recently that plants actually have a preferred way they like to be treated.

      Awww hey Margaret! Thank you so much for the kind comment. I’m glad you’ve learned from the videos! I enjoy putting them together, and hope we can learn more together. These plants can be fussy, but usually because they are in need of something 😄 Thanks again!

      hello! I wanted to ask you a question. I have a pink princess, a pink leaf has just been born, the pink is more intense, on the other hand, as time goes by I see that it becomes a much lighter pink, what could this be due to? or is it normal in the plant?

      @@prettyingreenhow do you get that nice burgundy color? I see it sold as black cherry princess, but I’m seeing regular pink princess with the light green and pink can also have that nice dark burgundy with pink.

    This man is the epitome of Confidence when it comes to propagation. Very informational video. But seriously, the bravery in doing it is awesome, especially when it comes to pricier variegated plants. 💪🏼

    You know I went straight to my royal court (white knight/wizard/princess) and Monstera Albo to find each eye and I'll be damned, there are the axillary buds! This is very useful with managing my variegated plants! Thank you.

      @prettyingreen  Рік тому +3

      I love that you checked! All those should cut exactly like this-a few philodendrons might not, but the axillary buds should be obvious on those ones (paraiso etc). Glad it was helpful 😄

    I have watched so many variegated plant videos where people just say "it's random". I never really understood variegation on a stem until this video! Well done, very informative!

      I’ve seen all those videos too early on and just cut randomly, but NOPE! Dozens of unvariegated cuttings later, here we are 🤣 Thanks for checking it out!

    Thanks very much for this video. I’m pretty new to the plant world and I’ve been watching quite a few of your videos. This one taught me what to do when I want to propagate my pink princess but also was a bit of bad news. My PP is currently putting out a new leaf that looks like it might be 100% pink. I’ve been very excited about this but I did not realize that this leaf might not make it. Thanks for explaining things so well and for all your expose videos about rare plants and scammers. Your channel is the best I’ve seen.

      No basically you and North Shore Tropicals are the only folks I’ve seen showing cutting and bud identification in detail, and not with 1hr 45 min videos nattering about their lives either. I ain’t got time for that! 😆

    I have been looking for hours on how to cut my plant for more variegation. Also a bunch of leaves got burned so it has a very long stem that’s just empty on the main root side so I have to cut a bunch of those nodes as well and this video is amazing it is so descriptive, I cannot thank you enough also just a quick question if I leave the empty stem of about 6 inches there as it is will new leaf growth come out of each of those notes again or do I need to chop up each node and do node propagation?

    I might have missed it - I haven't read every comment - but is there a follow-up video showing if the new growth is as you predicted? I'm very new to plants and a lot of the terminology and techniques are very new and confusing to me

    Ok i just learned a ton! thank you!! Question: why are some pink princesses green (like yours) and others are purple (like mine)? Are these the same plant?

    • @prettyingreen
      @prettyingreen  6 місяців тому +1

      Some plants just lose their variegation over time like the pink Princess. Philodendron erubescens is an unstable variegated plant 😅
