@18:25 this exercise is amazing and it looks like the move that Maya Plisetsakaya did with her arms when she was dancing the Dying Swan! It creates the illusion that you are bending the forearms! Thank you Maria, it blew my mind 🤯
Don’t just stretch, strengthen as well. If you’re only stretching, you will weaken your back and that’s probably why you’re in pain. Always do back lifts first and warm up before you stretch.

I appreciate your teaching because I.was a pupila of Nina Verchinina who was a student of Agripina Vaganova, and danced with the Monte Carlo Ballet during the war years. Now I am 80 years old, but never stopped exercising for very long. I'm still exercing and because of corona stopped for 3 months and felt terrible. Now, I'm beginning with you, and am só grateful that all your exercises are very similar to Verchinina's , and exactly what I love to do. I love ballet and the basis is very feminine, mas very diferente from plain gymnastics. Your exercises are very inspiring, mas I wish you all success both as a dancer, which you have achieved, and now as a teacher. Thank you a thousand times. Love. Diva

Interesting workout, with nice turnings on 25 min. 40 sec. and with swan wings a few minutes later. And there is something strong on 13 min. 30 sec. I also remember another useful variant of this excercise from "Ballet back workout". Maria, how beautiful You can use your arms in dance is visible on "Closure" video, when You dance with Xander Parish. By the way I have a question which wasn't asked during the Q&A video. Which standard dances do You like the most and why?

Better than a workout at the gym with weights. Women wanting to get rid of the "bat wings" of their underarms would do well to do this routine. It's the only one that addresses bat wings!
Good idea. Maria is probably so attuned to correct & helpful breathing that it didn’t occur to her to mention it, or else she thought it might be distracting to have to be working at/with 2 things simultaneously

Delighted as someone in their 60s who doesn’t dance & has sciatica that there is an exercise here that I too can do! ❤
can you do a back flexibility video? my back flexibility is too poor every time I do a stretching it hurts the whole day.
Don’t just stretch, strengthen as well. If you’re only stretching, you will weaken your back and that’s probably why you’re in pain. Always do back lifts first and warm up before you stretch.
I recommend Anna mcnulty!!
