Why get a piercing if youre not gonna take care of it?
Emily Patefield I had the same problem with a stud in my helix, even after months it was so irritated it built a big crust every other day. I think it got tangled in my hair so I decided to put a ring in it, cleaning was so much easier from then on.
I‘m not trying to defend that woman just general fyi. Not cleaning your piercing is nasty 🤢

I seriously agree with you. Sorry but I wouldn't dream of letting anyone see my ear like that. Like tats, getting tats and piercings are the easy part. It's the after-care that you have to be totally committed to no matter if it hurts insanely or not.

My ear got really dry so crust formed all over the side of my ear and idk how to get ride of it,I’ve tried everything.

@Jessica Ash Exactly!! And it's so fucking unprofessional for the channel to be hearting these comments. I get crust build up after one day of wearing my earrings in my lobes. I know when my catalige was pierced it was even worse, I had to clean it hourly and ended up just letting it close because how bad it was. Some people have fast bodily responses. No matter how much you clean them, it's not going to stop.
And I had my ear heal or "clog" five minutes after taking the piercing out. My backing probably would have been completely covered after two weeks, and when you're not supposed to take them out and you can't see what's happening shit can go wrong.

Bro I got my ear pierced there and it swelled up so bad the stud was stuck in my ear. Remember that scene in Willy Wonka with the blueberry girl? Yep. That's basically how it went.
when i got my ears pierced there it got infected then i re-pierced it there and it got infected again 😐

Theres lots of people uneducated about how to properly take care of a peircing, not to mention they get infected and crusty very quickly sometimes. Its not your place to judge.
@@alexwin5216 exactly, I have a lot of piercings and some of them build up crust very fast while others don’t. Sometimes it goes in stages as well.
The only time I’ve let my piercings go a while without cleaning is when they’re healed and I fall into a depression pit and I just can’t take care of myself in general. Since they’re healed they don’t get that major crust buildup. It was kinda satisfying to watch it be removed and have the back popped out though.

HAhaah my piercing are SUPEr clean i clean them every day before bed, and still sometimes when i touch the piercing it smell a bit so i can't imagine ... And they are heald soo i can't imagine someone who has a piercing and still in healing process xD must smell like dead body

Wow.. I was 14 when I got my cartilage pierced.. I cleaned them every day and I’m 45 now and they still look great.. never had any problems with any of them... so at 14 I knew how to take care of my piercings and these people who are older don’t know how to keep theirs clean.. so confused

kyra I know I shouldn’t say this here I’m sure, at that oh so young age I didn’t know better at all, so yes they used a piercing gun to proceed to put 7 new piercings in each of my ears. This was all done within a month time span. I didn’t know the dangers of them using a gun on cartilage, and that the best place to get piercings was an actual place that specializes in doing that. Not a Claire’s, or a piercing pagoda. That being said though, after I got mine done when I would wake up In the mornings I cleaned my piercings and after I got my shower in the evenings they got cleaned again. I made sure to take care of mine, and always carried piercing cleaner with me for daily touch up cleanings if I thought they needed it. I don’t regret getting them done and really want some more in the future, but after seeing what happens when you don’t take care of them I’m just glad that I never had to experience extremely swollen ears, infection, or anything else..

sometimes even if you take care of it correctly it’s mostly likely it’ll happen. It depends on the piercers handling or the ring didn’t go well with her skin. Even sweat can cause it become like that as well or just simply touching it with dirty hands. I don’t think she let it be like that if she didn’t clean it and looks like it wasn’t her first time having a piercing similar to it.
Yeah some of my piercings build up really fast, even older ones. I’m quite active so it builds up fast from sweat, dirt and dead skin💩 If I’ve been out snowboarding and hiking for an entire day mine have looked like hers after, and that’s from only one day Lmao.

Ughhh this happened to me. So, I got a second piercing on my ear and me being lazy I never really used the alcohol stuff they give you and tell you to use everyday. So me thinking *spinning* it would stop the pain (which it didn’t) I decided to just pull the earring out. And I had trouble because it wouldn’t come out and it hurt so bad to pull it out so I just was spinning it while pulling it and it finally came out and to my surprise a whole chunk of rolled up hair and gunk was on the earring. I was shocked to what I just pulled out of my ear. But was so relieved that I had that stuff out and started cleaning my ears daily..please wash your ears after having a piercing. Please

I pierced my ears a year ago. I cleaned them everyday and i never had an infection.
But ever since those piercing days i’ve had problems with one of my earlobe holes. Back of the hole is red and swollen, but the front is how it should be. But the problem is that there is something hard inside of that hole. I keep squeezing it but nothing comes out. Don’t know what to do since i’m only 15. The “rock” in the hole keeps getting in the way and sometimes it’s a struggle to get the earring in without pain. Don’t know what is wrong, but I hope i will soon fix it. I have no tattoo shops or piercings shops near me so no one can really help me. I’ve also tried the needle hack. Where you stick the eye of the needle in the hole and try to get the gunk out, but nothing comes out. I’m devastated at this point.

This happened at the studio I worked at all the time.. people coming in and telling us that their ear is really swollen and they need a longer bar out in and when we look at their ear they have like weeks of build up on the back of their piercing cause they only clean the front cause they think that showering is gonna automatically clean the back.. it was sooo gross sometimes...🙃🙃🙃😵

I have a helix piercing and industrial piercing and I clean them twice everyday with a q-tip and soft soap, like my piercer recommended, but it still has crust build up.

It’s what our natural bodies does , it drains fluid out our body especially a new wound it’s just fluids that’s draining and it dries up (meaning the wound is trying to heal itself)
Hi I have a ? for you.. I've had my ear piercings for a very long time .. just lately it seems i'm having allergic reaction to what i'm wearing . Do you think i can trust amazon and go w surgical steel or stainless steel or titanium or niobium earrings.. I just really don't want to have to give up my piercings. I appreciate your time, wisdom and advice. Thank you . i suspect i can't handle nickle or brass .

I guess the acupuncture point has to be choose carefully with the right knowledge of correct placement for this piercing before the needle go through the skin.

I have had terrible migraines 4 years. Some severe enough 4 several trips 2 the ER. I got my Daith done March 7th. I've been migraine free 😍
I'm also migraine free after a daith, but even if it doesn't work at least you have a cute piercing!
I use peroxide on me and my kid's ears to clean often . Every part of the ear and around my piercing . Wash behind them daily in shower . That's essential part to clean too

Ive been thinking about getting my ears pierced for a few years, it wasn’t until fairly recent that i found lulu’s videos. I have learned so much from you guys about piercing guns, that I’m so glad i didn’t go to a place with one just to get my first time over with. (My mother never pierced me as a baby cause she said it was my choice when i got old enough.) Thanks to you guys for the amazing videos and information, keep up the awesome job!

Can someone tell me why the first girl had a “crater” in the front and also how the flatback managed to sink into her ear?
alex lau the crater was cause by the dirt/crust between the front of the piercing and the ear basically pushing against the ear and the skin itself crusting and adding to the crust, so basically the crater was mainly the crust that they removed. the back might have gotten pushed closer into her ear when she was sleeping and formed a thin layer of skin over it over the next while.

I ask because i have a healing nostril piercing and the aftercare instructions were to never touch it before it is fully healed and to just let soapy water from my shower run down the piercing to clean it
Should i be worried about the craters if i have some buildup?
alex lau honestly i dont know enough about piercings to answer that. id go back to the piercer and ask if i were you (plus each case is different)

Put your two fingers near the end of ya cartilage and pull down. if there's soft/loose skin there below your cartilage, you're golden. that'd the sweet spot.

Hi I got a helix peircing but my jewelry is a hoop. I first got a a normal line jewelry but I changed it to a hoop two weeks after I got my helix. it started bleeding and scabbing like a week after and I dont know how to take of the dry blood it sorta looks like it's in the peircing hole. Can u give me advice on how to clean it up please. P.s I've tried cleaning it with soap and water the person who peirced it didn't give me antibiotics for the peircing or offered. I am not blaming it on him I'm just saying.

I just got my helix taken out because it gave me hell for 2 years. I also had the flat back get absorbed by my ear overnight. My ear was always sore and inflamed no matter what I did. Don’t understand why she wouldn’t at least take a wet q-tip to the inside of the ear, though 🤢
Just got my white opal industrial jewlery in the mail.
I have had my industrial for seven months and have really been struggling with hypertrophic scarring. I have been using tea tree oil, peircing discs and sea salt soaks and it goes down and then flares up all over again. Do you have any tips. (P.s I don't sleep on it)

I was told the the fibers from a q tip can get stuck to the piercing and cause an infection/irritation, so I only irrigate it with saline.

I've had my ears pierced nearly 40 years and never had anything like this!I take mine out every time I shower and clean them and the holes regularly. Same for my nose and belly piercing.

Sometimes you clean and it doesn’t help, one of my piercings I cleaned everyday but it still kept getting very crusty and looked bad :/
It’s different for everbody and every piercing! It’s super individual. It depends on how active you are, how much you sweat etc. Also I’ve heard that sometimes people do the mistake of cleaning too much and the piercing doesn’t get the chance to fully heal because of that instead. I did that mistake with my first piercing and my piercer told me to not clean them as often and that did the trick! Now they’re fully healed and looks great!
