    the girl with tragus problem is the same thing that i went through. the bar was way to short and my tragus actually swallowed the earring. I went back to the place right away and asked them to removed it, he basically said he can't because if its infected the infection will stay in my ear when the hole closes. it kept getting worse even though i was cleaning it properly. eventually i just went to my doctor and they said the tragus is tricky because of the nerves and they couldnt remove it either!! they referred me to an ENT and i ended up having to get it surgically removed, stitches and all. it was a nightmare

      What does externally threaded mean?

    • @Tangledwillows
      @Tangledwillows 3 роки тому +5

      @@riof.7947 External threading is when the threading (think of a screw) for the piercing is on the labret post itself. So, hard, serrated edges are going through the fresh wound and through the hole every time you remove and replace that jewelry. Internal threading is much kinder on the skin and considered best practice, where the threading is actually on the gem top instead and so never touches the piercing hole. The labret post is partially hollow and completely smooth, pushed/pulled all the way through the piercing, and the gem top gets screwed into the post - coming in no contact with the actual piercing.

    • @Tangledwillows
      @Tangledwillows 3 роки тому

    ANY issues or suspected problems.. go to your piercer!
    I clean 2x daily with H2Ocean and it has made a huge difference.
    I got both of mine done at the same time about a year ago to help with tension headaches. I developed an allergic reaction to the metal for some reason (surgical grade)... got titanium flatback studs half inch long to allow for breathing room and ears to heal. Currently have 7/16" (11mm) in and doing great. Going to size down to 3/8" soon.
    Also would recommend getting a second opinion from a few different piercers if you are not seeing any improvements.

    I remember my conch piercing got like that since the piercer I went to messed it up, so i had it In for half a month and it kept getting worse so I ended up showing my ear to another piercing shop and they were shocked, they ended up doing a little “surgery” on my ear, changed my bar since the one they put on me before wasn’t the correct one and the bump went away and healed with no problems. ^^

    I had a piercing bump too. On a targus the piercer said it was normal and would go way after he popped it. It didn’t. It got worse. I couldn’t twist the ball it was so tight. I went back got him to loose it. Then I went home and took it out. It hurt so bad. Now it’s closed and has a slight hump. Wanted that piercing for so long and now I’ll probably never do it again.

      I wanted a double faward helix and 3 studios I went to all said they wouldn't untill one or both of the other 2 were healed first because there can be more difficulties when your body's trying to heal 3 or more at the same time.

      @Tangledwillows 5 років тому +3

      Hi, while tea tree oil is ALWAYS recommended, tea tree oil works to dry out the bump and you WILL get the bump again unless you address the problem! Warm sea salt or SALINE soaks 2-3 times a day and NO touching, NO twisting, NO trying to take it in or out will help you SO much. Seriously, all it needs is no irritation and some saline, if you have high quality jewelry in there. Unfortunately these little bumps (called irritation bumps) are really quite common. Take good care of it without touching it or rubbing it and you'll be okay and it will heal just fine. Nostril piercings aren't totally healed until about 3months.

    • @kellie5425
      @kellie5425 5 років тому

      If you are going to flip it up and down, be careful, because it can irritate it especially if there is crust on the fresh wound. Also, your nose is going to be sore for at least 1 week or so. It shouldn't get infected as long as you listen to what your piercer says about taking care of it. I used wound wash for mine. Best of luck!

    • @eileenconway2966
      @eileenconway2966 5 років тому +4

      Don’t be surprised if your gums and teeth are sore after. There’s a nerve that connects the septum and the upper gums so it’s normal for them to get sore.

    • @eileenconway2966
      @eileenconway2966 5 років тому +2

      Also, if you find that the inside of your nose gets chapped from having the jewelry flipped up you can soak qtips in saline and stick them up your nose to moisturize the skin.

    • @MsEmolovesong12

      if your gonna have to hide it keep it flipped up ll the time or tell the piercer to flip it up for you. I got mine done when I was away at college and by the time I went home again it was healed enough for me to conceal it at that time.

      My piercer told me bumps normally form if you’re constantly moving it, I have 13 piercings and I’ve only had this problem on one (my daith which I did move a lot to try to clean it well) I would only use tea tree oil if a bump forms, not for the cleaning process. It’s pretty strong and you don’t need to do that for the cleaning process. Industrials get caught easily on hair though so just be careful not to yank it and clean it everyday.

      The recommended healing time is a year. After 3-4 months the piercer can downsize the bar they first put in. I am pretty sure you can use any kind of internally threaded earring as long as they are the same guage that you were pierced with. I wouldn't use earrings you buy from a department store or anything--stick with high grade material from a piercing studio.
