was drfting off to sleep and then jumped up like a zombie remembering this had gone live. hello! i'm here!! hope you enjoy the follow up video from last week :)
edit: ok now I'm going to sleep. also WHOOPS on referring to Ozzy as the maker of these songs. He only provided his beautiful voice and some weird Fairie lyrics. watch out for constant mention of the bassist and his amazing songwriting in future Sabbath videos!
Geezer was the backbone of Black Sabbath. People tend to give Iommi the credit for Sabbath and while Iommi gave us the sizzle, Butler gave us the steak!
I will recommend some great albums that haven't recommended or i haven't saw on comments.
Rock:
Jethro Tull-Thick as a Brick
Camel-Mirage
Dire Straits-Brothers In Arms
Metal:
Iron Maiden-Powerslave
Queensryche-Operation Mindcrime
Dream Theater-Images and Words
Metallica-Master of Puppets
Megadeth-Rust In Peace
Opeth-Morningrise (Listen after you get used to listening heavy and thrash metal bands)
Death-Symbolic (Same with Morningrise)
Death-The Sound of Perseverance(Same with Symbolic and Morningrise)
@@keremmazman3761 Nice recommendations.
Actually, I prefer Iron Maiden's Piece of Mind, as McBrain's drumming is stellar, (especially on Where Eagles Dare)!
Queensryche's Warning is slightly heavier than Mindcrime IMO, and Tate's vocals are at their best here, (Notable tracks: Roads To Madness. and Take Hold of the Flame).
Megadeth's Rust In Piece is simply played to death by reactors and I kinda prefer Countdown To Extiction, (it was my first experience with Megadeth).
For Rock, might I suggest Genesis - Foxtrot? (This is Genesis in their Progressive Rock greatness, (I would suggest Supper's Ready, and Get 'Em Out By Friday, and Harold The Barrel as being standout tracks).
Hi Kira, from a mexican fan of yours. If you want to hear the heaviest Black Sabbath ever, I would recommend you to hear the BORN AGAIN album, this album way ahead than the rest of the bands at that time, is scary, heavier and is groundbreaking. If you are brave enough, hear this album at night, shut down the lights and you will experiment the most amazing feeling of Black Sabbath.
Keep going with your heavy metal reaction, I really enjoy it.
@@jaimeparedes9309 And don't forget Ian Gillan from Deep Purple on vocals on his more metal and nasty performance.
"Electric Funeral" was the first song I ever learned to play in full on the guitar. That main riff is so nasty, yet so simple.
dude what an amazing first pick
Mine too! Then Iron Man
This was the first and only album I learned 100% thru
Took me a long time to realize that the nastied, hardest hitting riffs are usually simple and that's why they hit so hard. Unless you're King Crimson playing level 5 (although the main hook is a simple 3-4 note diminished scale progression)
Many years ago, there was a black Sabbath tab book , first learnings,
- Loves prominent base sound ✔
- Loves cool riffs ✔
- Loves melodic guitars & harmonies ✔
- Loves tempo changes and smooth transitions in songs ✔
- Loves long & complex compositions ✔
Yes, she's ready for Iron Maiden!
She's already heard Judas Priest. Why spoil the mood..?
yes Maiden is happening!
When they spell Bass wrong... for shame
"Planet Caravan was just out of this world..."
Truer words have never been spoken.
Fairies Wear Boots is something every bass player should hear.
Fun fact: This album came out the same day Jimi Hendrix died, so some people kind of dedicate Electric funeral to Jimi and the change from the psychodelia from the 60s to the hard rock/heavy metal of the 70s
WOAH I had no clue!!! I'd love to react to some Jimi Hendrix actually
@@kirawasareactor In that case, I'd recommend All Along the Watchtower, Hey Joe, Purple Haze, Foxy Lady, Little Wing, Voodo Child, Machine Gun.
As albums, al 4 of them (yes, officially he only made 4!, and the last one is a live album with new material, so only 3 studio albums) The names are Are you experienced, Axis: Bold as Love, Electric Ladyland and the live Band of Gypsys.
@@ExcelionYogi Only one I can recall is Electric Ladyland. I feel like some of his more popular songs may be a little familiar but overall it'll be my first time properly listening to songs in full. I've written all those songs down, thanks!
@@kirawasareactor Yeah, the most famous ones have been used to death on movies and TV. But thats the beauty of it, you may hear songs somewhere, but its entirely different when you sit down and LISTEN to it. And with the really good songs/bands you discover something new everytime you listen to them.
@@ExcelionYogi I totally second the jimi recommendation! And Zeppelin, for God's sake, lol! Looks like yiou've not experienced them yet either! I know, SO many, but, those two are GOLD in the bank! As is Black Sabbath--terrific reaction!
Electric Funeral & Hand of Doom is the ultimate 1-2 double whammy of amazing songs. The "well you, you must be blind......" bit on Hand of Doom still gives me shivers after many many years
The riff in Electric Funeral is one of the most macabre riffs I've ever heared, damn
Tony gave the old Wah Wah peddle a workout in this one.
My Black Sabbath recommendation: The other 3 of their first 4 albums. Start with Black Sabbath then Master of Reality then Volume 4. We on that Black Sabbath train now and it's ride or die! Woo!
yep i'll probably just do a bunch of Sabbath album reactions in the future!
@@kirawasareactor , Master of Reality is heavier than a Supernova.
@@kirawasareactor there's a saying that every metal sub starts with a Black Sabbath song. The biggest proof is Master of Reality
Into the Void might their best song Imo which is in MOR. You won't believe that legendary bass tone.
@@VHToff0li I need to give a shoutout to Supernaut on Vol 4. Masterpiece.
Good recommendation. I really like Sabbath Bloody Sabbath though. I think Sabotage is also a great album.
I would recommend you try Sabbath Bloody Sabbath next.
awesome thanks
Agreed. Not many people do reactions to that album other than the title track but it's my favourite Sabbath album. If I remember correctly, it's also Tony Iommi's personal favourite.
A National Acrobat is my favorite Sabbath song tied with Planet Caravan
This is exactly the album I was going to suggest.
@@calebtaylor6942 Ozzy also said in an interview its his favorite sabbath album
Sabbath songs always start with such ominous doom and end like a crazed dance party.
I think you're going to love Heaven And Hell, as well as Mob Rules.
HnH video will be iconic when it happens
@@kirawasareactor Then you be skipping some of the greatest metal ever put on Vinyl. Including Black Sabbath’s creative peak. Plus the Never Say Die album. With Mr Osbourne wrote almost all of the Lyrics. One of them is my favourite Metal songs of all time ever “Junior’s Eyes”
DIO!!
@@shspurs1342 All the band were in a bad way with with their addictions during 'Never Say Die,' but Ozzy was by far the worst, and Ozzy's lyrical input was always minor compared to Geezer and so on his last album with the band Ozzy came up with very little. Same thing during the best of his solo stuff (the Randy years), bassist Bob Daisley wrote the lyrics.
@@shspurs1342 HnH won't be happening until I get through everything worth listening to it before it from Sabbath!
"Now you're gonna die!" Biggest smile on her face
Just so we're clear, Ozzy didn't write the lyrics for most Sabbath music. That credit goes to the bassist, Geezer Butler. On this album, the only song with Ozzy lyrics is Fairies Wear Boots.
ye damn. I love that it's actually the bassist!!! They never get enough credit. Watch me credit him in every future Sabbath video lol
Fairies Wear Boots being Ozzy lyrics makes sense.
@@kirawasareactor The Ozman says himself that he can't remember what these lyrics are about. "Smoking and tripping is all that you do", all we need to know 😁
@@M.Never. IIRC he doesn't even remember writing them. I think he said something along the lines of "Everybody tells me that I did so it's probably true"
@@saschaschneider6355 LOL
"Cuz smoking and trippin is all that you do....yeeaah!" Love that.
I think Masters of Reality is their second best album but many would say its their best!
This is the tippy top of early heavy metal music. Glad you enjoyed the album
enjoying myself up here at the tippity top
Your reactions remind me of when I first started listening to this music, it's so wholesome
aww thank you !
Obviously your next stop must to be their following album MASTER OF REALITY , you'll love the bass on this masterpiece. Don't think twice, and do it!
Hands of Doom: plays
Me: YOU'RE NOW IN BRAZIL
I still get the shivers from these songs after all these years......the dynamics of of the sound is superlative
Ozzy Osbourne also has a solo project band named after him. Songs like Crazy Train, So Tired, No More Tears & Bark At The Moon are legendary
yeah! i was waiting for this!! your videos are so great!!
thanks!!
You are so much fun to see to your reaction, Black Sabbath is legendary 🤘🏻✌️
thank you!! they are!
Listen to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, arguably one of their top 3 albums.
So cool to see your delight as you discover Sabbath wearing boots. Boots of Awesome Rock!
It's really nice that you do those full albums reactions because that way you can discover the deep cuts and not just the hits :)
You should definitely also listen to their other albums among the first six, especially Vol. 4 and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Also can't recommend Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules enough!
Love albums, they are my favourite listening experience for sure! Yep more Sabbath albums coming soon hopefully
Heaven and hell!!!!!!
Fun Fact: The end of “Fairies Wear boots” influenced the intro of “For Whom The bell tolls” by Metallica, same notes being played.
That being said “Ride The Lightning” would be a great album to react to by Metallica.
✌️
Ride the Lightning parallels Paranoid if you compare the song topics, Both cover mental illness, drug abuse and war.
@@XA351GT Right on!
You mean the outro
@@lug23 The end of “Fairies” = The outro of “Fairies”. And the intro of “For Whom The bell tolls”, around 1:20m...
I love your reactions.
If you like the bass, check out their eponymous first release and the back-to-back tracks "Bassically" and "N.I.B." Bassically is one of the greatest lead-ins to another song...
OMG Best side 2 ever. I have been waiting a week for this 😀👏
FAERIES WEAR BOOTS AND YOU GOTTA BELIEVE MEEEEAAHH!
hahaahahah yes OZZZZZY
such an incredible piece of music this whole album.
Tony's guitar tone gives me chills. there's just enough reverb to make it creepy and epic but it's so cool. they set the template for Metal in general but the Doom Metal genre in particular.
I'm sure it's been suggested elsewhere but the Dio era Sabbath is superb. The Heaven and Hell album is perfection.
More Sabbath! So much fun! Fairies Wear Boots is a fav.
I think you will like their song: "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" (1973).
i fucking KNEW the hand of doom reaction would be amazing, looking forward to more sabbath i think vol 4 would be right up your alley imo but either way i’ll be tuning in 👌
Toni Iommi (guitar) was taught as a jazz musician. He has these amazing changes that totally blow me away.
Bill Ward is god on drums and Gezzer Butler is heavy , funky, smooth as silk bassist.
Ozzy? well......he is unto himself.
I said this in the previous video, but thank you so so much for documenting your experience with this album. There are not many fans of Sabbath here in my country, let alone for my age. I feel so much joy from seeing you liking this album, not because I want you validify what I like, but to see someone else enjoy the album for what it is, similar to how I first discovered this band. Please listen to their other albums as well, and oh boy those other albums are questionable in terms of quality for a lot of fans so just be honest when you do give them a try! Cheers! Subbed for sure!
I´ve listened to Iommi's solo stuff, Geezer's band, Ozzy's stuff obviously and even some of Bill's almost-hidden material. It's all really good, when they are together they own it. The 4 of them made Sabbath what it was. They had such an incredible chemistry.
Also, it's so much fun knowing all these songs and trying to predict your reaction. It brings joy to watch someone else getting into Sabbath
I don't know how many Sabbath videos you plan on doing, but they have 8 fenomenal albums in my opinion, Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Master of Reality, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Sabotage, Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules are all amazing. Reacting to them in orden would be awesome, but if that's too many videos my favourite 3 are Vol 4, Heaven and Hell and Master of Reality. Great reaction as always!
Actually, Ozzy almost didn't "make" anything! Iommi wrote most of the songs, Geezer wrote most of the lyrics and showed Ozzy how to sing (mostly adapting the riff)
PS: If you like these riffs, you should listen to the next record "Master of reality"!
LEGIT whoops hahah. the BASSIST will be mentioned more in future videos
Great reaction Kira!. My recommendation is two of the albums recorded with Ronnie James Dio, which are Heaven and Hell (1980) and Dehumanizer (1992).
Incredible records with a sound quite different from the Ozzy era, they are two of my favorites from Sabbath. Greetings!.
Hey Kira, You are just like me in taste of music!! So, I knew you would love the METAL in Sabbath albums. I actually recommended these songs individually except rat salad but love it ,too! I can see and here the enthusiasm is like night and day when you here Sabbath compared to all the other bands you've reacted to so far. YOU WERE right about you loving Sabbath. And that is how you pulled me in. I love seeing you react with your TRUE LOVE for music!!! It is awesome. Plus you are the perfect girl in every way to do that. !!
Hey Victor, thank you! You have a great taste :D Black Sabbath is one of my favourite bands I have discovered along with Rainbow for sure. Rat Salad was strange but epic. Lots of drums..... I do like all the bands I've reacted to but i LOVE Sabbath.
I love how you talk about the bass. During the early days they used to fight the sound guys about the bass sound!
Hands down the greatest album. Pull out any artist, any genre, any time. You cannot top out Paranoid at all. Never ever
Can't wait to see what you do next!
This whole album's drums are epic
See, I'm over here playing the air drums and then see you doing it too! I'm very happy, Kira!
AIR DRUMS, BASS AND GUITAR!!!!
@@kirawasareactor How do I talk to you on Instagram. I'm not very familiar with it. Like later on!
@@VictorHernandez-dd5ls Message. I am slow on replying though as I'm busy with personal life at the moment. Later this week I should jump on and respond
I love what youre doing, reminds me the of the joy i had when i was 11 to 14 discovering Black Sabbath, plz do the master of reality, sabbath bloody sabbath, vol.4 and sabotage albums😀
Great reaction. More Sabbath and Purple please!
always!
This side of the album I tend to listen to as one long song with multiple changing parts. Quite consistently a lot further out there than the first half. Fairies Wear Boots feels like the return home a little older and wiser after the long trip that started with War Pigs on side one. It’s an absolutely amazing album :)
There’s of course thousands of bands who has drawn direct inspiration from Sabbath’s style of riffing, but I’d like to recommend two really good 1990’s ones that I feel do their uniquely own thing with it: Cathedral and Sleep. Both incredibly heavy but also as groovy as you can get. You’re in for a ride :)
Loving your reactions Kira! Next, you should react to the Master of Reality and Volume 4 albuns by Sabbath! Cheers from Brazil!
They did use to be a heavily jazz and blues influenced band! Hence the drumming! Bill Ward is a massive fan of Gene Krupa and it shows in his style.
You are correct about how great it is to have the bass so in your face. Bloody lovely!
So do want to know how much I love this album.
I first owned this on 8 track cassette. I currently have it on vinyl and cd.
Thats how much I love this album.
Wait till faries wear boots my favorite
Enjoyed the “fairies wear boots” reaction here. That song is indeed a rockin’ head scratcher. kira, not to be too much of an interloper on this Sabbath thread but fyi I sent you a sort of dissertation on another great English band from this exact time period. Uriah Heep, in your Rainbow “Rising” reaction. Maybe you peeped it. Just think you might enjoy them. I sent some song recommendations over there in case you missed it. Thanks for your great reactions. All the best.
Carcass is the best British Metal band.
I’m new to sabbath too, I’ve been listening to all their albums for the past month on a daily basis lol. The Fourth album “Black Sabbath vol 4” is my absolute favorite
You have great taste. More Sabbath please.
Love it!
Good job, I enjoyed rocking along with you. With Sabbath you can just choose at random and not be disapointed. At the risk of jumping about the time line, you might consider Ozzys solo track Perry Masons Eyes, I rate it as one of his best.
Bill Ward showing his particular skill at 9:41 in Fairies Wear Boots. Just spectacular.
Great reaction Kira, I think I like Side 2 even better than Side 1 - Electric Funeral and Fairies Wear Boots have always been some of my faves. For future Sabbath full album reactions I have already mentioned Heaven And Hell but also you could try some Tony Martin era ones like Headless Cross (with Cozy Powell on drums) or even Born Again to hear the weirdness that is Ian Gillan from Deep Purple singing with Black Sabbath ! It's not all about Ozzy :-)
Some amazing tracks on Side 2! Thanks for the recs, will definitely get to more Sabbath albums soon :)
I'm loving your hard rock/metal journey! The 70's was a great decade but i can't wait for you to reach the 80's and the 90's and the more heavy stuff. Another great seminal albums to react to: Iron Maiden - Powerslave, Metallica - Kill em all (their first one) and Megadeth - Rust in peace (their 4th and best one)
One of my favourite bands ever, Electric Wizard, combined the names of two Sabbath songs (Electric Funeral, and The Wizard) for their name. Once you're further along I definitely recommend checking out their album Dopethrone.
As for more Sabbath, definitely check Master of Reality. It really helped invent doom metal (slower, heavier metal [when compared to stuff like Priest] that's more focused on filling up musical space and slowly building up to powerful sections). Also recommend Heaven & Hell, which was Dio's first record with Sabbath after Ozzy left and is amazing in it's own way, kind of combining Rainbow and Sabbath into a new but familiar entity.
To think it only took them 6 days to record what would become one of the greatest METAL albums ever and on the 7th day they rested. Actually, they probably went to the pub and got hammered. Great reaction. You are now a true METALHEAD> Welcome to the club. \m/\m/
Love the drumming in Rat Salad so much
for real, that was insane
This is four lads working their arses off. Ozzy does the vocal melodies and he does them really well but don't sleep on Tony, Geezer and Bill. (I love Bill's drumming)
damn i enjoyed that reaction so much, please do every allbummm of the first 6 pleeeassse
yes i will!!
You should definitely check out their self-titled album. One of my favorite albums of all time. It's also arguably the first actual metal album.
Yessss I bought it on record last year but it's been a long time since I listened to it.
Love her High pitch Screams 😱 🌟 star8
Hi Kira, I like these reactions cause they're entertaining, whether I do or not know the songs. Are you gonna intercalate the metal reactions with the rock ones? I personally don't mind, I will watch them anyway, but I know you have my request on your list. Happy women's day!
I would listen to the next 4 Black Sabbath albums in order of release date; you will get a better sense of how they progressed and peaked as a band
Yep I will do in order of release date for sure
The whole album Master of Reality is brilliant. My favourite on that album is Into the Void.
Yes Master of Reality will come
@@kirawasareactor YASSSSSSSSSSSSS
Sabbath - I... such a great song
Great reaction (lol you're hilarious)!
Do their first album (it's my fav of the 8 albums with Ozzy, but ALL 8 are good).
Your reaction is how I felt first listening to this in 1991. I was 11 and my grade 5 brain exploded! I've literally spent 30 years chasing this tone on guitar,
There’s countless videos bro no need to search any longer the internet is amazing you can easily find out how to get at least 99% of his paranoid tone.
Master of Reality should absolutely be your next album reaction for Sabbath
electric funeral is the perfect black Sabbath song, even more than the more famous songs this one really shows the style of ozzy/Sabbath can't wait to see you react to the Dio/Sabbath.my favorite BLACK SABBATH song of all time is "turn up the night" with Dio
there is also one Sabbath album "born again" that features Ian Gillian from deeo purple, after dio/Sabbath I'd recommend" Zero the Hero" and "trashed" from that Gillian/Sabbath one
You've just found out why Tony Iommi got nicknamed The Riffmaster by fans. He's fantastic. Early Sabbath was incredible. Even though I love Ronnie James Dio on vocals it's this Sabbath that is legendary. Just like early Judas Priest. It's just that bit more creative. More of a jam and just playing around with stuff. Mixing it up, changing tempo, playing with dynamics, having fun. And those songs had a great atmosphere. Incidentally I'm running around in a Sabbath hoodie today, so this is great timing ;)
Tony was a jazz guitarist before starting Sabbath, Bill was a jazz drummer and well, Geezer is Geezer... altogether they created aural ecstasy - listen to their version of Wicked World on Live At Last... it will blow your mind Respect & Peace
Examples of art withstanding the test of time: the video.
G'day Kira, love these videos, takes me back to my own discovery of metal. I reckon after Sabbath you should go to Iron Maiden. Suggested songs: Number Of The Beast, Run To The Hills, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Flight of Icarus, Aces High, The Trooper, Fear Of The Dark
If you're ever looking for similar bands, Sleep's debut "holy mountain" is shameless Sabbath worship in the best way. Other albums to check out are "saint vitus" by Saint Vitus, "the ethereal mirror" by Cathedral, "the lords of hypocrisy" by Pagan Altar, "the art of self defense" by High on Fire, "pentagram" (later re-released as "relentless") by Pentagram etc
Hi kira love the reaction,I recommend Sabbath bloody sabbath, also some blue oyster cult, black blade, burning for you, don't fear the reaper, cities on flame,I love the night(vampire love song) to name a few.
I love Sabbath ..Deep purple Sabbath Judas and Rainbow of course are the best for me..Great video..you give us joy in these difficult days..thank you for that..Maybe you could try In Rock by Deep Purple..for me its one of the best albums ever
I love your reaction!
I think my favourite from this album is Planet Caravan.
Somebody once told me, its more "Pink Floyd-ish" then most of the Pink Floyd songs :D.
This album is pure perfection in my mind!
Thank you, for doing it for all of us!
Planet Caravan actually rules. So glad it's on this album. Pink Floyd is great too, would love to react to some of their stuff because I've only listened to their really popular tracks and the album Animals.
@@kirawasareactor I really only know 2 Floyd albums, the popular ones, namely "The Wall" and "Dark Side of the Moon", but i can't reconmend them enough.
In the last video's comments, I talked about Iron Maiden, and the video is about Black Sabbath. I don't remember, that you ever made a video containing AC/DC, they share my top with the other two band, I mentioned. They have a style, that nearly every song that they made are following, but they are doing a damn good job with it. If you don't know them, or you want to listen to them, I can reconmend two albums from them. The first one is "Back in Black" that is the album, what everybody knows, so thats my reason, and I like the meaning of the songs. And, the other one is "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", its an old album from them, with Bon Scott, and I think with some Blues mixed in it!
They are not the most "most technical" band, but I really love them. My dad used to listen to them every single day. And still does :D So, they are my choice for the reconmnendation.
@@zeteny741 Maiden will be coming soonish. I'm filming it this week I think.
I haven't mentioned or listened to acca dacca yet but I definitely want to do so. I am aussie so it needs to happen. They are my style as well. I know I would have a lot of fun rocking out to them! Lots of dancing
Yup since you enjoyed Dio’s voice so much you should listen to The Mob rules next and visit an old friend., Also you are going to love Ozzy’s solo material like ‘Diary Of A Madman’ Blizzard Of Ozzy’ ‘ Bark at the Moon’. You should also check out Iron Maiden as well I’m not sure if you will like their early stuff, but from ‘ Piece Of Mind’ and all the records after I think you will enjoy.. Solo Ozzy will be great. Just because it's Ozzy and I love him. I will blindly like anything he does hahaahah
Yes checking out Maiden this week!
Their 1st Self titled debut
Their 3rd Master of Reality
4th Vol 4
5th Sabbath bloody Sabbath
6th Sabotage

@kirawasareactor you should publish a list of your top preferred albums. I strongly suspect that your list will change the top positions for every new album reaction you post.
By the way, another music suggestion: Uriah Heep - July Morning.
I was literally just watching part 1 waiting for part 2!

Electric funeral so simple, so good

Ozzy: "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHH"
Kira: "Why are these lyrics so good?"
I thought this young Lad would've known about Black Sabbath
I have a suggestion you might find appealing. First, a little history lesson...
After Ozzy left Black Sabbath, he was replaced by Ronnie James Dio, who had previously been the lead singer in Rainbow (you've already listened to his work on "Rising", for instance). Dio's stay with Sabbath was brief, lasting only two studio albums and one live album (he would return later in the band's history for another run or two).
Once Dio left, Black Sabbath needed another singer. The solution was Ian Gillan, who was previously the singer in Deep Purple (you've heard them too). He stayed for a single album...that album is called "Born Again." I think you might find "Born Again" very interesting...my personal favorite song on this album is called "Disturbing the Priest," but the whole album is excellent.
God bless!
You know how you keep saying you can't stop smiling? Well, that's me watching this vid. Hope you enjoy doing it as much as I enjoy watching. Now back to the long wait for the next one...
AWWWW thank you!!! :o
