Agree 100%, I have never not had this album in my collection, despite having lost and damaged several copies, the musicianship in the album is surprising to me for what is a supposedly heavy metal band.
I first listened to this album when I was 16, there are a lot of memories attached to it. I love watching you react, it's like discovering it all over again. 🥲
That drop at the back end of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Drop tuned down C#, might be the first heaviest slugy riff in history! Wrote the book on Doom, Sludge and Stoner rock. Can't wait for you to get to Heaven & Hell. It's a stone cold masterpiece.
Hell yeah. One of the best Sabbath albums in my opinion. So unique and creative, especially for 1973. It took a while to grow on me, definitely a trippy album.
You will love Sabotage and Heaven & Hell! Both are favorites of mine, but not just because they are metal. Overall, they are masterpieces that have stood the test of time and can still hold their own against any group or solo artist of today. In my opinion, that is😂!
The reason the song was called Fluff is because it's a tribute to radio DJ Alan "Fluff" Freeman who back in the early 70's was one of the few radio DJ's to actually play Sabbath on the radio. Also, regarding your love of instrumental music you may wanna check out the Ozric Tentacles, not necessarily as a reaction but just to add to your instrumental library 😊
Sabbath bloody Sabbath is Black Sabbath's most emotional album. It still gets heavy and dark at times but alot of the songs are kind of sad like Ozzy was in love, like a love yearningly sadness to the songs or something. Amazing songs and album really.
FINALLY! Welcome back to the Sabbath journey! (Can't wait for the next chapters (and please do all the albums in chronological order)! Cheers from Brazil!)
This is one of my favorite Sabbath albums. Black Sabbath are the masters of dynamics, you can't be heavy if there is no light. Looking forward to your reaction to the Sabotage album.
Happy that you listen to this album because this period some underrated because it is not so iconic like early but really more mature - real piece of '70-s music art! 'Killing Yourself...' is one of my favouritest songs by Sabbath!
Volume 4, Sabbath bloody Sabbath, and sabotage, in my opinion are their best albums. Their most creative period. With sabotage, you can really see the beginning of heavy metal.
🎵 Of all the things I value most of all......🎵 Sabbath is one of them. Even if you don't listen to the whole of the Never Say Die album have a listen to Junior's Eyes it's a fantastic song and not typical Sabbath.
Sabbaths finest hour here. The change ups, the riffs, the synthesizers, the keys, the orchestral arrangements, the overall melancholy and Ozzys vocals are top tier. You shouldn’t skip any of Ozzy Sabbath albums. Would be fun to see what you will think of Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die.
She should definitely skip 13 because its a pile of shit, TE & NSD arent strong albums by any means but they are a hell of a lot more enjoyable than 13 is
Great to see someone delving into the music and not just wearing the t-shirt, you are experiencing what I did 45 years ago when I was a 15year old school boy, great reaction. Thank you. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I cannot express how excited I am, as well as I imagine your Sabbath fans are to hear you listen to their next album, Sabotage. I hope you keep going to the end of Ozzy's run with the band.
I would LOVE to see your reaction to 'Born Again' it is the only album the group recorded with lead vocalist Ian Gillan, best known for his work with Deep Purple.
One note... the keyboards on Sabra Cadabra are Rick Wakeman. He was in the same studio recording with Yes and was asked to sit in with Sabbath for the track. Absolute wizard on keys, even wears a cape on stage... because... wizard! 🤘🧙♂️🤘 Rich the Ancient Metal Beast
On Fluff, the piano and harpsichord was also played by Tony. Keyboards on Sabbra Cadabra was by Rick Wakeman of Yes, piano on Who Are You was Tony again, with the Minimoog synth played by Ozzy. Volume 4 is my favourite Ozzy era Sabbath, but its hard to deny that on here and the following album Sabotage (another must listen) that Ozzy was in his prime vocally.
I loved this reaction! I've been watching you from the beginning and this might be my favorite! I'm looking forward to "Sabatage", the next album in order and so heavy!👍👍
Thank you for doing this! I really enjoy your reactions. It's interesting to find a different point of view and sometimes your favorites or your least favorites have been completely different from mine. This is my favorite Black Sabbath album. It was a really important album for me. I learned that everything is possible in hard rock, metal or just music in general. There were some truly positive musical surprises. I feel the same way about Fluff, which I've heard was named after BBC radio disc jockey Alan "Fluff" Freeman. I absolutely love it. It's a bit like some baroque music mixed with the style of "Albatross" by (Peter Green's) Fleetwood Mac. It's beautiful and I like its short middle section. It really speaks to me. Well, each of these songs really speak to me in different ways. Geezer Butler was the main lyricist in Black Sabbath and I really like many things that he had written. I've also heard that Geezer came up with the starting guitar riff of National Acrobat, which is one of my favorite riffs. Sabbra Cadabra is definitely a great song and features Rick Wakeman. He's the keyboardist mostly known from the progressive rock band "Yes" but he was also a very successful session musician. One of his most memorable sessions was his piano playing on "Life On Mars" by David Bowie. Who Are You is a really interesting song and I like it a lot. It's one of the few songs that's written by Ozzy Osbourne and it's quite unique. The style of some of the parts are similar to guitar riffs but they're played with an ARP 2600 synthesizer instead. The middle part is nicely arranged for a synthesizer, piano and a guitar and it also features an instrument called a Mellotron. I also really like the vocal harmonies. This album actually has many of my favorite vocal performances by Ozzy Osbourne. I really like Killing Yourself to Live. I love that strongly effected guitar riff during the verses for example. Lots of variation too. Maybe the song will grow on you. Spiral Architect is one of my favorite songs of all time. It might grow on you later or it just might not be for you. It has many great things including string arrangements and I love the feeling I get from the intro. The song has a lot of depth and the lyrics are quite interesting. Geezer Butler said once in an interview that one of the songs on the album came to him in a dream. Spiral Architect certainly has that vibe. I love it. There's so many different reasons to really love music. We just hear things differently sometimes. I'll end my writing with a quote from the lyrics written by Geddy Lee of Rush: "Different eyes see different things Different hearts beat on different strings But there are times for you and me When all such things agree" (Rush: Different Strings) Take care and enjoy the music.
Black Sabbath is known for being the grandfathers of metal, but there is a lot of funk in there too... over the years this album has become my favorite from Sabbath, mainly due to the production value, the earlier albums even though packed with talent and musicianship sounded like they could have been recorded in someone's garage, whereas this one is bringing all that talent into the studio. the bass on the early albums is just so soft in comparison, would have loved to hear this kind of production quality on the earlier tracks. i kind of have a different view from you since Spiral Architect is one of my favorites on the album, absolutely love the lyrics on that track, it's like a prayer giving thanks for everything, it takes itself a bit more seriously, hence the lack of so many changeups, but beautifully done.
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath was my first Black Sabbath album and one of my favorites. To me is easier to say which songs i don't like from it (the last two).
Classic Black Sabbath album, with some stellar songwriting and just awesome vibes! A whole lot more progressive than their earlier albums. Ozzy just rips on this album.
Great reaction! I suggest that you do a full album reaction to London calling. I saw your reaction to the song a while ago and i think you would like the whole album.
I'd like to argue that Never Say Die is worth the listen. It's a departure from the usual Sabbath sound but it has some songs that are likeable. Johnny Blade, Junior's Eyes, Hard Times and Air Dance. But I understand why people tend to skip it.
Ozzy wrote "Who Are You" and Rick Wakeman of "Yes" helped out Tony on keys. Only other Sabbathy song written sley by Ozzy is "The Writ" on the next album "Sabatoge". I'm dying for you to hear that album and song!
Something else to check out at some point would be OZZY Speak Of The Devil live album with all Black Sabbath songs and the guitarist from Night Ranger, who I had zero idea could shred that hard, Mr Brad Gillis. Incredible live concert recording in 1982 after Randy Rhoads tragic death in the plane crash
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage are a great pair of albums.. too bad Ozzy can't sing most of the songs anymore because they are way higher than his normal register
Love Sabbath! I would recommend checking out their albums Master Of Reality and Volume 4, from the early 70s with Ozzy on vocals, and also Heaven and Hell from 1980 with Ronnie James Dio
the Sabbath journey finally returns to the channel
curious the differences in tastes, for example Killing Yourself to Live, and Spiral Architect are my favorites 😅
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE
I would LOVE to see you discover more of Alice Cooper. :)
will you react to ozzy solo first three albums...
You're gonna love The Doors!
National acrobat is a classic
Love it. It's a sentimental album closer that contrasts greatly against the heavy opening track of SBS.
Oops, I misread and was thinking of Spiral Architect. Solid album regardless.
Second!
That drop to that sludge riff in the title track is one of my fave Sabbath moments. That groove is nasty.
Indeed
Fully agree
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath in My opinion is the highest peak of the Black Sabbath sound and dark atmosphere. A great balance of heavy and melodic riffs.

Almost every Sabbath album has a mellow song and they are fantastic. Solitude, planet caravan, she's gone, Laguna sunrise ect.
The reason the song was called Fluff is because it's a tribute to radio DJ Alan "Fluff" Freeman who back in the early 70's was one of the few radio DJ's to actually play Sabbath on the radio.
