Mr. Wengstrom, this is the most beautiful sewing machine I have ever seen.

I was just thinking the same thing. I wouldn't dare to sew on a machine that perfect for fear of scratching it.

    Very pretty color.

Looking at this video again I still think a camera doesn't do this color justice. The machine is painted black first and then a translucent/metal flake clear coat is sprayed over the black. Decals are then applied and then the whole machine is clear coated. This process gives such a depth of color that it is somewhat mesmerizing to look at.

Do you mean the translucent is applied over the wineberry? Do you mind sharing the brand names and color names for the wineberry and the particular translucent you are using?

Wow!! I hope someday you do videos on the whole process with information on paints and clear coats. I'm sure I'm not the only DIY person that would enjoy learning from a Master.

Wow this has to be my favourite colour, it's soooooo rich, I'm sure Mr Isaac Singer would be very proud to see how well you are caring for his machines. They should last to infinity, I hope future generations will understand how beautifully made these machines are. I don't have the courage to do a new paint resturation yet. I really need to master the art of getting the dirty , greasy tarnished chrome / steel back to the glorious shine, please, if you have time , could you advise me and everyone else how we deal with restoring the chrome on our rescued machines. Many thanks for your inspirational videos 😊 jackie

Hi. I’m in the market for a Singer Featherweight. Should I look for one that needs to be restored? Or do you sell them fully restored?

Hi Eric I have enjoyed your restoration videos, and am in the process of restoring my own 201. I've been looking for a clear laquer to finish the project but didn't want to use an Acrylic laquer because I've been told it will mess up the waterslide decals. But I noticed in comments from a previous vid that you use Rustoleum Auto Enamel and laquer, here in the UK Rustoleum is an Acrylic paint/laquer, is it the same in the US? If it is an Acrylic have you had any issues with it when spraying over the decals?
    Thank you
    Rob

Eric I have a question for you about PB Blaster. My daughter washed the towels we used to restore a 401; how in the world can she get that Blaster smell out of her washer??? And your restoration job here is fabulous. Love the color!

Well...to be honest I just use rags or paper towels and throw them away. I don't believe I've had to wash towels infected with that smell......
Thanks for the kind words about the color too...it's still my favorite!!!

Do you ever have face plates that are a bit worn? If so how do you address the chrome loss?

Eric darling, how can I have this done to my machine? Do you offer this service? Where are you located? Tell me more, tell me more.

I have a 201 that I'm thinking of repainting. Where do you get the decals? Ebay? I do need a new power cord as well. Hubby is fantastic at restoring cars, so I know we could work on this together. Thanks!

I have a 1921 Singer 66-1 Red Eye. I know it's not rare, but I want it refurbished like the machines you have on your Facebook Page, along with the appropriate decals. The only thing I want to add is a hand crank. I want the option to switch between the crank and the motor when I want to. I'm not saying price is no object, but I'm willing to pay what's necessary to create a fully functional showpiece. Please let me know how to contact you. I'll send pictures to you. You can let me know if it's something you're interested in.
