This was really helpful! I went crazy today with my chick who had developed this today bought $50 worth of selenium, vitamin e and electolytes as well as molasses for a $10 chick. And have been feeding her all day.
That is the cutest chicken I’ve ever seen! You did a great job figuring out how to help him. Maybe the sunlight increased his vitamin D levels and certainly his morale. Nice vid, thank you!
He’s beautiful! So glad you posted your experience. In all my years of poultry love, I’ve never had this problem. We are very hands on while they are little baby 🐥 and even all grown up they sit on our feet to be picked up. Regards...
My chicken has this. I don’t know what to do. He’s a 2 month old rooster. Do I need to bring him inside because it’s very hot? And he won’t stand up on his own and it’s hard to get his head up to feed him. I don’t know exactly what to feed him. And I’m just not sure what to do. Please help!
Had a very sick girl that couldnt walk she was so bad thanks to your treatment tips she is now a very healthy girl i maintain her now with a marmite and nut sandwich soaked in water every could of weeks
The stress is brought on by the vitamin or nutritional deficiency. If you see a chic or chicken just standing, not very active, slow gets pushed around get it out and separate it. it will only worsen if not treated and will get trampled by the other critters. if you see the head droop, twisting of the neck or a weird crooked position they need water asap. do not ever try to force water in their mouth or force them to try to drink because they will breath it in and die. They can get over hydrated and they will do this twist shaking of the head. that is their swelling from to much water. take a look at ingredients in your chickens feed. don't just buy the expensive bag or Purina or a brand name. research what type of breed you have, what you plan on usin them for and ask chicken farmers. you learn as you go.
Mine has been like this for like 15 days and has only worsened, even when I give them all the necesssary vitamins People told me she will be ok though so idk
Yes! So it turned out! Moses is still trying to work out how to sex them young :O How are you able to tell early on? Thanks so much for your comment Della :)

Thank you so much. Hoping to resolve my first case of what looks like wry neck. Bringing my girl in now. Thanks to you 😊
Pour vitamin e capsule on boiled egg, mash it. Should work for both selenium and vitamin e
Thanks for the tips !
Saved my hen 😊

Vitamin deficiency...Needs vitamin E and selenium...Straighten the neck out gently by hand and hold them upright to administer so they can swallow.
What did you put into the water?
I got the sunflower seeds & Brazilian nuts.
Marmite, it's an NZ spread, vegemite is similar
