Danny... I think the time is near to consider penning a book. A good publishing company can do wonders by compiling all your past videos into one very accurate and informative (illustrated) book or series of books. Everything is on your side; it is not as though you are an unknown, you are well-known worldwide and highly respected. Of any person's name in the world of orchids, yours is heard loud and clearly... Thanks for all you do for our community.
Hi John, that's so very nice of you, thank you! I am not sure I reached book writing levels yet and I don't know if it would be a good one anyway. Think my strong point for now are videos, but never say never I guess 😄
:) I was thinking today about this... A name for the first book popped up in my head ! :D "Miss Orchid Girl's orchid guide for dummies" ! I would definitely buy a book from Dani !
I prefer species but solely from a growing point. Species tend to require really specific conditions and for me, I like the challenge of getting those conditions right.
Hello, Last Monday, I bought myself a Vanilla orchid in the flower shop and because of this I'm very interested in this orchid now. I potted it in Cocohum (at least we call it this way in Germany) mixed with bark an big pieces of Seramis and it's doing fantastic so far with many new aerial roots (maybe because I spray it daily). I'm very interested in the progress of your Vanilla, so will be there an update soon? Greetings Leonard
Your aphyllum is in bloom already!! Here in its natural climate it hasn t even set nubbins. And only yesterday i saw tiny nubbins on my mounted species nobile. Both are at home here!
It's a very long time since this video, but do you have an ID on the mini phal on the bottom left at 14:30? I just picked up a NOID one from the grocery store that looks very similar. Thanks!
Very enjoyable video! You mention the cool growing cloud forest orchids a couple of times - have you ever grown Odontoglossum crispum / Oncidium alexandrae (whichever you prefer to call it)?
Good morning, great video very informative. I have a question concerning watering. I have self watering pots, in the reservior there is a solution that has my general feed, when I want to add cal mag to the resevoir do I have to empty it or do i just add it to the pot which still have some fertilizer in it? Im not sure of what to do. Thanks again Have a great day.
I prefer species and primary hybrids, but some of my favorite complex hybrids are "Rothara Yokosuka Story" and "Potinara Burana Angel 'Living Fire'", oh and Phal Miva Smartissimo 😊
@@oishd6077 I mistyped, it's "Burana Angel" but it has the Burana Beauty in its ancestry. I hope it will be fragrant this time around, but the red and orange flowers are more than enough 😊
Hi, there are very few known natural hybrids, I could count them on my hands I believe :) hybrids don't usually thrive in nature probably due to how inadequate they may be. They do look great to us, but out there they may be misfits and just wither off if they happen. That's just my guess as to why there aren't that many natural hybrids 🤷🏻♀
Bought my first vanda yesterday after watching you work with yours! You inspired me to take the plunge.
I love the way you explained this i really needed to understand what the differences were and this was a great breakdown! Thankyou!

Very informative! You explained the difference so eloquently.
Especially agree with your comment about not taking orchids from the wild!

Thank you Danny for sharing so many new things about orchids. I love orchids so I watch your channel regularly. From India north East.

Very nicely done,
Good evolution lesson.

When do most of your paphippedilums and phragmipediums bloom?
What about the hybrids occurring in nature? Species can cross on their on in the wild.
