Couldn't stop staring at the loc stuck to your chin chile🤣🤣🤣

We us human beings can have the rights to get dread beard lol
Ong
ok thought i was the only one semi-bothered by this lol
I dont even saw them
1. Dont get your hear retwisted too often (wait till like 6 or 7 weeks)
2. Don’t avoid wrapping your hair up (wear bonnets or durags)
3. Don’t play with your hair (stop twisting it)
4. Don’t use wax for your dreadlocks (use light gel or oil instead)
5. Don’t avoid washing your hair ( unless your in the beggining stage ‘you can wait for about 1 month to wash your hair’)
But how do i get smoke smells out my dreads without having to wash them all the time
@@keyonroberts561 you can try to oil your hair or use dry shampoo spray
The hardest part for myself is to stop doing the boredom twisting so I try to keep them in loc boonet
@@mauricemcghee834 thats smart to kerp your hair in a bonnet but if you get bored in public and your not wearing a bonnet you can try fidgeting with other stuff because boredom twisting your hair could mess up the process of your locs
Ok. My scalp stinks everyday. I have to shampoo and condition everyday. My scalp is too oily. What do I do?
My loc’s were thinning out before I reached my 2yr journey. I realised that the whole time u gotta let your loc’s mature properly wit the new growth that’s underneath them. Since the summer I’ve just let them freeform and now I got the Afro under my loc’s and they’re now becoming more thick in general. Just a lil message to those who feel like they wanna cut their dreads due to the thinning. Trust the process. Your loc’s will be restored if u take time for them to mature. Avoid playing with them. That’s the mistake I made when I reached the 1st yr.
Facts
I appreciate this comment. I was just thinking about cutting my dreads.
@@brianmayzin9644 never do it
i made this mistake as well in the first year by two strand twisting my locs so much. i didn’t know any better i was just trying to keep my hair neat not knowing i was messing my locs up and i came across thinning. Will my locs possibly get thicker over time if i leave them alone and let them just freeform?
@@brianmayzin9644 combine them 🤷♂️
i feel like as someone with starter locs, so many people feed us false info. everyone's hair is different and that factor needs to be taken into consideration. i've had so many people tell me things that clash so I just learned what works for me and that's what i go by.
For sure 🔒✊🏾

RIGHT lmao watching this video while playing with my hair
😂😅🙃... me too!!
My dad has dreadlocs for 3 years I think and he told me not to play with my hair and I’ve never touched my hair since...

My son & I have had starter dreads in his journey I used beeswax every 4 thru 16 days due to my budget of affordable scarfs to wrap his hair but I got mine dreadloc journey with Spencer hair gel and they never budded kept them for 5 months of 24k oils and couple washes from a spray bottle but my sons last almost 3 years with that process...awesome information THANKS
Your so wise man. Wish I found your channel 5 months ago when I first got my locs in. Definitely going to be seeing much better progress throughout the next year thanks to your channel 🔒🔒

I'll be doing my sons hair at some point but watching different videos are helping with advice definitely I'm glad I'm looking into it before proceeding with it.
i keep a bandanna or head scarf on throughout the day, with my hair out in the back, to protect my crown and keep me from itching and/or playing with my hair.. my locs are grateful~ peace an love family 🙏🏽💕

I do the same thing too. And when i need to oil them, i spray w rose water and use coconut oil since i have a sensitive scalp 😩

Actually getting my dreads done as I watch this video ready to start this dread journey love the video didnt know what to do when I go to bed but now I do thanks ❤
Video is very helpful! Love the vibe! Been doin my journey alone for 3 months now an goin from a 80s fro to dreads is a huge challenge.
Keep It going ✊🏾🔒
The dreads in my pic are free formed 3 years no retwist. Literally every dread was congo and they were wicked up too. I recently cut them in March, let my hair grow, and got it twisted. Now I’m 4 months in with the traditional dreads and even though they’re not as cool as my freeforms, I actually am liking the retwist process so far. They dropping WAY faster than the freeforms and I can style them more fr.
✊🏾
So grateful i stumbled across this video everything im supposed to avoid I'm literally doing i got instant locs but the roots are still very new ish
So thank you!

I just started mine maybe 2-3 months ago. When he said stop playing with your hair I felt so called out. I have anxiety so i’m ALWAYS playing with them and twisting them. Now I have a few thinning and I’m devastated and do not want to start over but may have to on those ones. So, I can definitely say that’s a big fat DON’T! Please stop playing in your hair y’all!
I’m wishing for healthy hair, scalp, and life for all of yall! Peace and love ❤️
Body builder here who just got locks and this is the first video on maintence I watched. How ironic ur first analogy resonates so much w me
this was so helpful. I plain to start my son loc"s but I want his hair to grow out some more. I feel the more length he has the better. The shorter it us the more maintance bit will be.
good luck
When he said take your hands out your hair I took that so personal

Thanks for the info bro! Starting my loc journey really soon.

Wearing a bonnet is one of the easiest, comfy ways to wrap your hair. 💖
Aw yeah baby🔥
I needed this, this is definitely gonna help once I start my dreadloc journey I didn't know about few of those things I was told wax was the absolute best at one point and I didn't know playing with them a twisting them will ruin it what about playing with the dreads by just running your fingers across ur dreads and making them look messy which I see a lot of people do but will that also ruin them or no? I have a huge problem with messing with my hair and especially once It's in dreads but if I can at least do that than I should be fine so again thank you this is a huge help before I start getting them done it helps in the long run yk
I been growing my dreadlocs for 12 years now 👌🏾👍🏾🙏🏾🤙🏾💪🏾

I needed this for the 3 previous times I tried to get dreads cut them every time because every reason you named in the video this was my first try but I got them now watching to see if I can start sleeping without the Durag but yea got dreads because I naturally learned these over the 3 previously dread attempts😅

Thank you so much for the tips on what I should not do with my starter dread locks
Silk pillowcases also help with keeping your hair healthy. With them you don't need to wrap your hair

I washed my starter locs after 4 weeks because I was eager to wash out the gel that was used to start my coils. Luckily my locs had already started budding by then so it didn’t unravel😅.

Let’s go ✊🏾✊🏾
You’ve answered my questions in this video appreciate it
I'm starting my loc journey. I'm actually going for that Kilmonger look
8 weeks is to long for starter locs, they will start to unravel and you’ll be basically restarting the loc process, 6 weeks at the longest before retwist of your starting locs
6-8 week depending on hair type
Def depends on your hair type. Started my sons in October didn't retwist until end of January
