..."80s level of unsafe spring power..." That made my entire day!
Once, a Shogun Warrior went off on its own and shot me in the eye from a good 6 feet away. Fun times!
I love your videos, I love your collection, but most of all I love your attitude toward this hobby. It's inclusive, it's welcoming, its fiscally realistic and responsible, its passionate without zealotry or discrimination. You're a great guy, Michael.
Thanks, very kind of you to say. :D
DragonTail49 well put
And of course an incomplete toy can always be completed later when you find the parts at a drastically reduced price. Or even repros. But you may never get anything if everything has to be perfect.
Sean Fewster yep. Agree
Man, the Centurion part just unlocked some part of my memory I hadn't recalled for 30 years. Proper blast from the past!
:D
Not many
People remember the centurions, I had the dress up,helmet a body suit with large yellow attachments hahah.
Good Memories right there !!!
Just makes me realise what a great childhood I had
Sounds awesome. I would have went 'x-treme' with a centurions costume if I had the base suit as a kid. A customized Detonator made out of cardboard would have been a must. :D
I had the first three figures made, kept them for several years before either trading or selling them, can't remember which. I wish I had kept them. I never had any of the sets featured in this video, which in hindsight I'm glad I didn't because if I had and I'd sold or traded them I'd have regretted it now.
Holy hell! I remember watching that! I found those to be really cool with the whole , upgrade armor / suits awesome!!
80's level unsafe spring power😂😂😂😂😂that line killed me
I have the Centurions Tidal Blast, and I swear the missiles on that thing would detach a retina!
The handle on the back of e dagger assault made the 2 front bumpers go in and out alternating one to the other.
Hi, I had the Dagger Assault when I was young, but sadly no longer. Anyway, the plunger on the back when working properly would cause the two blue bumper parts to move back and forth to mimic a battering ram function. Also worth mentioning is the other dungeon door that you are missing was different to the one you had. It did not have any of the sculpted detailing and was instead a smooth clear plastic, but it did have a huge hollow sticker that would change from a man's body to a skeleton to mimic the totem removing process. Also it seems Hasbro recently did a reissue of the Leoric figure, but (I live in the UK by the way) he cost about £25. Plus his totem and power staff hollow sticker were replaced with a boring flat drawing.

Great toys! Even better perspective about collecting and being patient! Thank you, Michael! 😊
I completely agree with your approach. On my last trip to the states I found Doc Terror and Hacker in a vintage toy and comic shop. They were pretty much complete, a little loose, but I didn’t care in the slightest. Was delighted to finally own them and at a price I thought was more than reasonable.
Congrats! Now you can hunt for the John Thunder and Rex Charger prototypes. :D
Michael Mercy well, it only took me about 30 years to get these two, so you never know!
I agree I collect based on nostalgia. I don’t alway need mint condition or everything that comes with the items! I recently picked up a masterpiece Thundercracker for $50 it had all of its primary weapons, but was missing the flight stand and missiles. Normal minimum price $150 plus so it’s about the memory more than having everything!
Nice! Those parts aren't even necessary for a nice display.
Holy crap. I totally had a Centurion. Haven't thought about that thing in like 30 years! Thanks for the memory jog man!! Lol
I love the opening music. It immediately reminded me of Little Lack Of Love by World on Edge.
I love the channel and have to give you major props for your genuine passion for the toys of our collective childhoods, over the ever increasing monetary values of many of them. Thanks Micheal, that's really refreshing.
I'll say, this is a very good video of rarest 80s toys, being so rare is what makes them so much more special to have. Thumbs up.
Excellent video as usual, Michael; and also great advice! (useful not only for toy collecting).
Man, I am new to this channel but what great thing to stumble onto. Been watching your stuff for the better part of my Sunday lol What a great feeling of nostalgia these videos have brought me. Had so many of these toys as a child and even forgot about alot of them until I saw them sitting on your shelves! Thanks for sharing this with us. Really made my day.
Thanks, glad to hear it. :D
Michael I don’t know how I haven’t come across your channel, but I’m sure glad it came up in my recommendations. I’m going to take your advice on not being so OCD with having everything complete. I found myself being limited and struggling in the cash vault. My collection is all high end but I really have no business going above my means. I think never being able to have these figures growing up and going to my neighborhood friends houses to play with them is part of the reason I want the best now. I love how you cleverly edited the original cartoon in, and your very genuine. I can’t wait to binge watch your videos starting in 5 minutes with my coffee. Subscribed!
Amazing content as usual keep it up really keeps those childhood memories going!
I think I'm having a flashback, or is it a hallucination? But seriously, I just stumbled on this series and I'm addicted. And I thought I was a collector. Michael Mercy has accomplished what hundreds if not thousands of 80's spawn could not: collect all of his dream toys, keep them in great condition, and, make it look like he is a functional adult at the same time? Anyway, I don't have the time or the money to accomplish what he has done, but I sure will live vicariously through these vignettes. Hats off to Mr. Mercy, you have satiated the kid that lives in all of us and also justified our claim that the 80's was the golden era of "children's" toys!
Haha, thanks. I wouldn't have the money to accomplish this today either! Luckily I assembled everything years ago when most of it was still 'unwanted old junk' instead of 'valuable vintage collectibles.' :D
Absolutely love your videos, Michael! Just superb!!
Born in the USA in 1983 and never even heard of centurions until now. Sweet toys!
I’ve been on a binge session watching your videos....yes, they are that good! You have a talent Michael (I’m sure you’ve heard this many times). I am most struck by the “Purity” of your passion. My collecting has always been a near and dear thing that I’ve held close, not wanting to spoil it by worrying about the money aspect, but when I reflect on the joy it’s brought me...I often feel that is something that transcends any monetary aspect. It’s taken years, but I’ve finally become more comfortable with all this and reaching out to the community has helped me feel more “normal”. I’ve been on UA-cam for more than a decade and only Recently started actually leaving comments. I’m rambling, but I think you may possibly understand. Pat
Love your videos, seeing these toys brings me back to my childhood, it was an awesome time. Keep doing what you do dude.
Thanks! Glad to hear it. :D
Awesome! my new favourite youtube channel! This video was recommended to me just now and I'm so happy. Most of the newest additions to my 80's toy collection come from local thrift stores and most of the excitement, apart from owning and displaying the toy of course, is finding it super dirt cheap. I often feel like a treasure hunter when I find cool random stuff and it's fun to let that dictate how my collection grows. When I plan on going to a toy show or swap meet I'll try to save up a hundred bucks (or more if I can) and strategically pick out some specific quality items to fill in gaps. I also never worry about a single piece or a whole collection being complete right away, just keep an eyes open for parts and pieces, then when I do complete something, Wow! what an amazing feeling that is. Thanks for this super interesting video! Sorry that Bravestarr dude took out so many of your awesome toys....
Thanks, that's some high praise! Yup, in a way it's a good thing to be missing parts. It keeps the thrill of the hunt going. Ugh, Thunderstick...that rascal is always causing trouble. :D
Like the variety you gave to you list. Always kool to see if you ever had or still have any of the rarities. Sadly I had non of those, but had figures and toys from those lines. Kool list👍
I’m sure people say this to you regularly...but I love how much passion you have about the toys themselves...not just about trying to have them all. The way you describe the emotions of how it felt receiving some of these as a kid remind me of my childhood. Please keep making these fantastic voyages into what it was like to grow up in the 80s. They will keep me happy until my time machine is completed.
Thanks Christopher! Much appreciated. Good luck with your collection!
Wow! I'm an 80's child and I remember all of these toys they make me happy to remember how much I wanted them and never got them but to see them now is juat as good.
Better late than never! :D
So much nostalgia! I actually have a g1 devastator but smaller but I don't know where I put it. I absolutely love your vids I hope you keep making these vids
This video gave me as much joy as playing with all these glorious toys would. Fantastic presentation.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed. Nerdmasté! 🙏
Max is the reason to this day I like those green and black colors together like that.
My big bro had these and I played with them. They got years of love and fun from me.
Oh wow, I still have my Thunderstick. I forgot what he was from but he was one of my favorite toys as a kid. He had so many cool gimmicks. I played with him a lot so I'm sure he's probably in rough shape. Great list sir!
I like the shaggy ripped boxes, it adds to the charm of it's age and the fact it was played with, great video.
From what i understood the black lever on the Dagger dart was pulled to move the front bumper
I never had the toy i had to make one out of cardboard as mum and dad couldn't afford to get me it so nice to see it here thank you
Wow, I grew up with Centerions, visionaries, classic thundercats and Inhumaniods toys thank you for the memory
Thanks for watching! Nerdmasté! 🙏
All the rarest toys are from my favorites of the 80’s...loved bravestarr, centurions and silverhawks....i was always trying to recreate the cool water/land scenes that the kids on the commercials were playing with their toys on...i also loved COPS...
WOW!!!! Thank you so much for this video! It really brings me back to my childhood days! I was too poor to afford them back in the day. But seeing them in this video is still so satisfying nevertheless.
Looking at your collection brings back A LOT of fond memories of my childhood. I was born in the 80's myself!
Glad to hear it. Great decade to grow up! :D
You my man have the attitude more toy collectors should have, having a boxed copy of something is nice, but it’s just a folded piece of cardboard, I could care less if a box is in good condition, I only care about what’s in the box (though I do keep boxes)
I love your videos mate. They bring back so many amazing memories for me. With thanks from England.
Thanks Robert, so glad to hear it. Nerdmasté! 🙏
I'm 35 yrs old and loved the centurians as a kid. I never knew their were action figures, but i did grow up in Germany for 10 yrs. Amazing collection, had a few visionaries too
Good stuff. Just discovered your channel. Got back in to collecting a few years ago to try to reacquire some of the Transformers I had as a kid. Mostly Ebay purchases but I've gotten lucky a few times(grabbed a huge bin of MOTU toys this summer at a garage sale for 10 bucks and there was a loose Thundercracker and Blitzwing buried at the bottom). Didn't mind having the MOTU stuff either!(had a Grayskull as a kid as well)
Centurions and Spiral Zone action figures were life when I was a little kid. So many memories seeing your Centurions!
Not familiar with Spiral Zone, I'll have to look them up.
Spiral Zone is totally hardcore! I have the Rimfire, a slightly damaged Sledgehammer and a few figures, some day I want to have them all!
Agree! Spiral Zone was awesome! Check ‘Hobbylinkjapan.com’ and search SpiralZone, they have some sweet Japanese made figures etc.!
Thanks again for bringing these toys back to life .
My pleasure! :D
Man, I am just drooling over those carded Star Wars figures! But yeah, I get your point about not necessarily being a completist / picky. I would've missed out on some prime vintage toys if I had that mentality. I just picked up a rare generation 1 Transformer called Reflector. He's 3 robots that merge to form a camera, and he was only available as a mail-order figure with proofs of purchase, so he's very rare. The one I picked up is missing the flash, but still, it was an awesome find, and I doubt I'll find a complete one with the original box. If I do, great, but if not, I've got the next best thing.
Amazing centurions collection! I have one myself and the ONLY thing that I'm missing is the Sea Bat. It hurts me to remember how I missed a boxed one years ago by seconds on an eBay auction.
Thanks for sharing, always wanted the Doom Drone Traumatizer!!
the t bar in the back was to operate the battering ram which is the light blue nosecone on front however it looks like your front end is complete and may have some damage keepign it from working
Thanks!
@@MichaelMercy yeah I watched the 80s visionaries toy commercial here on UA-cam just to find out what the t bar did. The toy in the commercial had tan colored battering ram or what looked more like grabber action so I don't know why yours are blue. Maybe check it out might be a first run thing.
Really good collection. A real museum. :-)
Great collection! You are right patience is the key to collecting!👍
You have a great attitude towards collecting.👍
Thanks Bill! Nerdmasté! 🙏
Love your outlook on what makes toys special! ;)
:D
I remember buying Centurions, with accessories, in plastic Ziplock bags at a garage sale for like $3 each ! They’re long gone now.
Haha very entertaining and informative. I absolutely love all your collectables mate. Thank you for sharing 👏👏👏
Thanks!
Michael Mercy I’ve lost count how many times I’ve watched this video. It’s definitely one of my favourites. You have inspired me to start collecting Kenner Centurions Haha... It’s almost impossible to find them in Australia, but I’ll keep at it. Thank you Michael
I totally agree with you! I love finding Collectibles at the right price. And I don't care if they're missing a few pieces here and there. Great video by the way!
Thanks! Yup, it's nice to find rare items when you're on a budget...or have a sense of responsibility as it relates to your budget! :D
I would love 1 hour alone in there to play with all the toys that i wanted from my childhood but never got l.
:D
I feel you bro. This is one impressive collection that bring back so many memories. I know I’m not supposed to be envious, but envious I am!!!
Awesome collection and great advise. I bet it takes a while to dust that room.
Great video and great collection keep up the great work
So true what you said about having the toy rather than having it perfect, you just earned a subscription
I completely forgot about these! I loved the Centurions.
Amazing video! So fun to see all that stuff from when I was a kid!
Thanks!
I had a Thunderstick as a kid, it was an awesome figure.
I also had a dagger assault, the front battering ram works by alternating the forward and back alternate motion of the left and right sides, if the gears are not set right they won’t work.
11:07 I love how trailbreaker uses his barriers
I dont consider myself a toy fan but this video was so dang fun and cool. You have yourself a new subscriber
Those newer Thundercats figures are frigging awesome. My favorite was Panthro. I always liked Fisto in MOTU. I like the muscle-bound bruisers.
Hey I saw the coyote from Mccormick in the back. Do you have a review of this one?
I'd like to chase for one of these.
Thank you in advance
Great collection and nicely voiced.
Wow, I used to have swingshot and sea bat. I knew they were hard to find, but I never knew how rare they actually were. Great vid!
Your collection is amazing !
That Bravestarr figure just made my most wanted list!
nice stuff man i collect the same way i buy broken or stuff with missing pieces and repair what i can or just wait for the right price for missing pieces it adds more fun when you finally complete it
Yup, it extended the thrill of the hunt. :D
I love your attitude on "your" collection. You collect for you and I like that...
Thanks. Best way to be.
The Visionaries Dagger assault is one of my fav items in my collection as well. I really like how you have your set displayed. If only they had released more figures and vehicles. Such a well done video Michael. Kind a Regards, Pat
Hi, my friend. It's nice to see those vintage wonderful & rare action figures been reviewed here. As always your vlogs inspire me to keep trying to collect these gems of a bygone era. It's amazing that you have found the centurions items and in such condition. I don't have that much luck since sometimes on eBay you find sellers that are asking for a ridiculous amount of money for these figures or accessories that are not well kept, dirty or broken. In regards to BBTS, I do not buy toys from them. I went to purchase the TMNT S.H Figuarts collection and because I made a tiny mistake in one of the orders, they gave me a lot grief. I value their security measures but, I wasn't gonna deal with the stressful situation, being that I was having enough of that in those days, so I closed my account with them. I buy from other great companies now like entertainment earth and the Collector's Cave near where I live. I don't need BBTS. #MichaeMercy if you have a particular piece of an action figure that you need, like weapons and accesories, check out #jellydinosaur at Etsy.com. I needed the boarding hooks for my vintage Shipwreck action fig from Gi.Joe and the man did one for me. Also I purchased a MOTU Attak Trak without the rubber bands that go on the wheels and he came through for me again. Great service and fast shipping. Take care!
Remember watching all these shows. Love your collection.
Thanks! Nerdmasté! 🙏
Dude your collections are awesome. I really what to get them when I was a Kid.
Thanks! :D
Wow, I had no idea the Centurians gear was going for so much on eBay. Will have to dig around in my parent's attic and see if any of my old stuff survived.
I use to have all these toys as a kid. Also had the Silver Hawks and some others on your shelf.
Lucky kid! :D
Trailbreaker: "Now do those force fields come in handy Ironhide?"
Ironhide: "You could have just shot em' Trailbreaker!"
Trailbreaker: "FORCE FIE-"
Ironhide: "SHUT UP!"
You have a great collecting attitude. I once got a sweet star wars deal on Ebay. Lady selling a box of star wars stuff for $40. Inside that box of stuff was an atat and atst as well as other incomplete goods. Now I have them regardless whether complete or not and only for $40. Kenner atat and atst if wondering.
I have the Ace Mcloud figure SKyknight and Orbital weapons system but I love to have that Max Ray Sea Bat assault weapons system if only Hasbro can bring back and add this Centurions toys in its Hasbro/Kenner Vintage Line one day .
I had the swingshot. I can’t believe I remember it! My dad bought it for me at Woolsworth
Loving your content Mike. I recently started acquiring some childhood toys and am also not being overly picky. No issue at all with used guys [big savings over the mint in box ones]. I am however struggling with attempting to recreate the card backs. Part of the magic of the 80's toys was the fun packaging. The card backs usually told a story or described your character to some degree. I have screenshots of a few cops n crooks guys and have clam shell plastic protectors coming for them. Any experience trying to do this for any figures?
Very cool eighties toys are awesome indeed. I of course was a teenager in the 80s. But I primarily collect 70's vintage toys The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman have been for over 30 years. but I do dabble in a little bit of eighties toys primarily Strawberry Shortcake mainly because it's a Kenner toy. Because I love Kenner Toy's..
Some classic toys there , i was lucky enough to have the Thundercat Bengalli
You have a coyote x on your shelf I haven't seen one anywhere love your video good job
Beautiful collection
Can't lie, I am so distracted by all of the toys behind the top 5 rare guys because I want to see it all! Very amazing to see these rarities up close and personal too, especially the Visionaries stuff.
The blue battering ram pushes forward and back one side at a time 👍👍
Love the awesome 80 toys.
Wow cool collection!!!!
Thanks!
Totally agree with your policy on toy collecting. It is how I got my turtle van, after all.
THE CENTURIANS toyline , it should have made more cash as they looked extremely detailed and well made .
Yeah, I played with mine and they still look mint!
this room looks so beautiful!!!
Thanks! 🙏
I had Thunderstick. Loved the BraveStarr figures pretty cool for their time. Unfortunately my Thundersticks chrome face came loose. And some kid from the 80's decided to blue tack it back on.
Centurions are one toy i always wanted but never got, and thundercats i remember them being really cheap but i always wanted a different toy line (heman?) So didnt buy them as a kid 😕
Awesome stuff man 👍 excellent collection
Omg I so remember and had some of these toys!
Well done, though I only knew the visionaries from your video and even I watched the show in the 80s I never had the figures. Somehow I feel rare to find items from a collection I don’t even know about is not that thrilling...it must have some connection to my childhood or even better an item that was already difficult to find back then...
That Thunderstick figure looks awesome 👍
Thank you for this video because you took me back to my childhood!
Happy to hear it! :D
