Best thing about it is that that is exactly mediocre.
I've got one: An old watch maker is sitting at his desk doing his work when he sees he needs a piece from across the room. Due to his old age it's much harder for him to go and get it but thankfully he has a pet squirrel that he's been raising since it was young. Unfortunately the squirrel is also quite old and its vision has gotten quite poor. The old man quickly thinks of a way to help the squirrel understand how to gets the parts he needs and before too long the old man is fixing a couple watches each day.
To make a long story short: Even an old, blind squirrel can learn a few new tricks to find the nuts to fix a broken clock twice a day.

Train story - should be "that ship has sailed"
Egg Boy Story - instead of "kill two birds with one stone" it should be "A Bird in the Hand is Worth Two in the Bush"
I didn't really understand the beating around the bush joke at the end. Are the girls horrified because the joke is that the boy is beating off? Please can someone explain this as I saw someone suggest there was a triple meaning.
Also for the "that ship has sailed joke" I believe it is a triple meaning as the train is on a boat (sailed) and has been sold (like sale)

This is the funniest Casually Explained I've seen in a while. Masterpiece really. Haven't laughed that hard at a youtube video in a months.

4:20 this guy deserves grammy
My understanding of English idioms is too bad to get this video 😂😂
(I'm from Austria)
The way I understand it, he made fun of them by creating situations where they mean the opposite of what they actually mean. Like with the boy "beating around the bush" when it was very clear, where he wanted to go and what the purpose of his actions were.
Or did I miss the mark?
@@juliaprohaska9295 Yes. Beating around the bush really means trying to talk about something without directly referencing it. I hear it comes from a technique to hunt small birds in bushes and that somehow made them easier to catch.
Most of the rest he mangled horribly.
"Putting all your eggs in one basket"
"A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" (meaning a bird you caught is better than the chance to catch 2 more.)
"Penny for your thoughts" (asking what someone is thinking, which he mangled to THOTs)
Anything you need clarified?
@@TheGuardDuck
That would be very kind of you, yes please.
Is the ending of the Amsterdam story an idiom?
I didn't get the short story about the bridge at all. One of them is definitely "the ship has sailed" but the rest are just a confusing mess to me.
@@juliaprohaska9295 he took a bunch of common idioms and combined them:
1) that ship has sailed
2) we'll cross that bridge when we get to it
3) that's just water under the bridge
4) you're burning bridges
may have been more, but his final line in each joke is a combination of idioms that doesn't actually make any sense
...also "beating around the bush", in this case, is referring to jacking off
