Honestly it keeps going until you hit 18, not because of some magic that instantly makes you more mature the moment you become legal but because you've probably had some sort of job at that point, have probably payed taxes on said income, and now you've begun to realize that no one really knows what they're doing in the world and everyone's immature in some form or another

Also, the reason why the term “genetically” was mentioned in the definition is because , and as argued by Richard Dawkins (1976) in his book the Selfish Gene, memes and genes are similar in the ability to replicate, but different in other aspects. One last thing, Dawkins was the first one to create and use the term MEME.

I do appreciate this casual breakdown of memes. I get chuckles from the more specific types of memes and when people post the so relatable type meme I can't tell if they're unfunny or if I'm too far down the meme hole
The reason why internet memes die after becoming too popular are because they're created as inside jokes, and it's no longer funny once everyone's inside on the joke.

At this point memes are a literally integral part of my life, seeing as ever since I’ve been around I have used them on a daily basis. Memes are arguably a better representation of gen Z culture than anything else. Music and art are becoming memes, shows and games are becoming memes. It’s so unique, because gen Z is the first generation to grow up in the meme era. It’s amazing.
