These Dell RX550's are great but not in stock form. Overclocking is turned off in bios, and the TDP is limited to 32W. They really wake up if you run the memory at 1700 mhz, and bump the TDP to 35W. If you don't bump the TDP, it will never clock above 1183 with anything over 80% utilization.. Takes a couple quick bios mods to get it running good, but it's worth at least 10 frames in games

The Quadro P620 consumes 40W and works with my 255W Dell PSU. The RX550 is rated at 50W but maybe the Dell version I tried draws slightly more. Just enough where the fan spins with a black no boot screen.

I installed adrenaline.
I call this the TEAM ROCKET gpu every time I see!
I just picked up one of these GPUs to put in a Lenovo thinkcentre m900 SFF w a 210w PSU…. Is this gonna work ok or should I reconsider?
Should be good.
Is it possble to use it in HP 400G6 SFF
Yes you could. 👍
Would this fit into HP Z240 SFF Workstation ?
9020 SFF here. Will the card run hot in this machine? I have upgraded the two case fans as well, and my power supply is 255 watts.
Are those Optiplex good for the long run ? Im looking to buy one and maybe upgrade it with a low profile gpu someday but mostly I'll use the pc for daily use and a little gaming but will it be a reliable PC?
For the long run, probably not since upgrade options are limited
@@JoeHoeDoesSomething well yeah that's right but I don't mean it to upgrade it as adding an gpu or stuff like that I just want to be able to do daily task such open the email light work excel and stuff like that without worrying that the PC will be overheating or shutdown suddenly
@@andresangulomejia8304 Oh I think you should be fine for those task since these are office compute. Support for Windows 11 may vary on the Optiplex since Windows 10 won't last forever

Yes. 👍
Hi. What's is the optiplex model and psu watt?
What's the PSU wattage of that optiplex
Just asking, what is the emulator called.
I’m using Batocera. It’s a stand alone Linux based emulation os.
im praying this works in my optiplex 7010 sff. I have a 2gb RX330 in it at the minute and it runs stuff it shouldnt at 10fps (Total warhammer 2 on medium settings). i tried a GT730 and it didnt work at all! This is my last shot at a little boost. ive got a i7 3770 16gb ram 500 SSD all crammed in that little dell sff case.
ill be honest, i thought it wouldnt run my toaster, but that little office job is hitting way above its class. I just PRAY that the RX550 works. im upto my limit on spending for my budget build!
did it work?
it worked like a charm, well worth what i paid for it, i now get 34fps on high settings. it does get a little hot though, but i guess its because its in the sff and theres not a lot of air flow around it.
You can definitely get better fps on GTA V and Forza 5 cuz both of them had a framerate lock (50 fps and 30 fps respectively) also GTA V runs at this card at ultra settings comfortably
Those temps are safe for that card? I have this same card with an optiplex 7050 with insane temps on ultra graphics playing Bloodstrike (ultra & high), CS2 (medium). I always get around 80-90ºC.
Nope anything above 85c is not good for this card bro use msi after burner and use medium or low graphics mode
is this gpu good for otiplex 3060 sff? or should i use other card ??
If you got more budget sure get the LP rtx 4060
It’s good for that Optiplex.
How well does the model 3 emulator work on this set up?
Thanks for this video! My friend gifted me a 3020 sff with batocera. Gonna have to get this card
Runs fine you can play switch and Wii U as well.

Why not a lp 1050ti? They are cheaper with almost double the performance
1050ti is a better card but they are more expensive. If you can get one for cheap definitely grab it. It’s about $200 on Amazon right now. Which is why I think the RX 550 is a better deal.
@@basicdadtech I've seen them around $100ish on the 2nd hand market for lp versions. Brand new is a different story
If you can get it at that price I would grab it.
@@basicdadtech Already have 🤣
I got my optiplex 7020 ssf for $60 and the rx 550 for $64. Everything said and done got a PC for less than $200 so I'm happy
What if you try to run rx560 under same machine pc optiflex? Wil it rub fine? Or wil it be to much for its weak power supply?
I am running a similar build with a RX 550 LP the except with a HP Prodesk 600 G3 SFF. And I am dealing with GPU overheating. Hits 92 or 93 Celsius then games crash. I noticed your temps were getting up to 83. Have you had similar issues? I know airflow with these office PCs must be dreadful but I honestly thought that wouldn’t be an issue with this card.
Hello. Try applying fresh thermal paste.

i got it today Rx 550 4gb but why i see lag and crushing while i play my cpu is I7-4790
you may have not downloaded the drivers on the msi website (or the company's website)
i have one on my 6th gen small factor dell i5 6500 i built ad i run a gt1030 there both preformance is about the same the 550 is a been better of a boost for a older card its not that bad for a old budjet card
I bought a HP ProDesk G4 SFF with a i5-6500, 16GB Ram, 512SSD... but it come with no GPU. Could this RX550 Low Profile be a good fit even the power supply from this computer is only 180W ?
An i5 6500 consumes around 65w, a 2×8gb ram consumes around 6w and a 512ssd usually consumes around the 35w mark=106w. An rx 550 consumes 50w=156w consumption with 24w for the mobo so i think its aight to add it
I have this same setup. And I have the next question, is possible to mount a RX 6400 on that sff? With psu 180w.@@anamazingmacaroni
@@Zulwiseu cant put a normal sized rx 6400 in it ,but there is a low profile version wich is made for ssf builds like this, like the xfx speedster swft105 radeon rx 6400 wich is a low profile single slot gpu that has a tdp of 53watts (keep in mind that you will pay more for a low profile gpu than the "normal" size). Now if u want to know if it doesnt exceeds the watts on your psu just search the brand name of your components and add the watts, but in my opinion, obviously that rx 6400 is enough for your pc to handle

Hi. I used a separate PC for recording. So no performance loss.
Good video. I use a gt 1030.
Qué tal va con la GT 1030 ? No pienso jugar solo quiero saber si te da mejor rendimiento que la 550?
The real problem with the gt1030 is the price.
It's a decent little card at $40. At $90+ it doesn't offer enough performance.
@@henri2093yo he cambiado la gt 1030 DDR5 por esta Rx 550 lp de Dell. He ganado un 20-25% mas d fps y algunis cambios d escenas parecen fluir mejor por el tema d la VRAM, pero se calienta más.
Has anybody gotten this card to work in a 3020 SFF? I originally had a Geforce 710 installed and put the RX 550 in the same slot and no video. Reinstall the Geforce 710 and it works fine. I then tried the RX 550 on my regular desktop that has a 650W PSU and it worked fine there. Wondering if the 3020 SFF doesn't supply enough power to the PCIE slot for the RX 550 to work...
I have an hp 8100 sff, I'm wanting to buy an rx 550 but everyone says that the minimum power supply needed for it to work is 400w, so I think I'll have to buy a gt 1030 as it uses little energy.
My hp has a 240w power supply, so a gt 1030 low profile would work perfectly, but I wanted something stronger like the rx 550, but I think that without a power supply upgrade, it won't work, I'll settle for the gt 1030.
Ended up switching to the Nvidia Quadro P620 on my 3020 SFF. Single slot low profile card with 512 cuda cores with max 40W pull. Performance is right inbetween the GT 1030 (384 cuda cores) and GT 1050 (640 cuda cores).
@@harveyw666doesn't that quadro consume more power than the rx 550?
The Quadro P620 consumes 40W and works with my 255W Dell PSU.
The RX550 is rated at 50W but maybe the Dell version I tried draws slightly more. Just enough where the fan spins with a black no boot screen.
Would this run metroidvania games smoothly? I only want a card for 2d games on Steam
I think those games should run good. 👍
is it ok to put an rx 550 low profile on my dell optiplex 7010??

is it bottle neck when optiplex has 240w psu while rx 550 has minimum of 250w?
the RX 550 itself uses less than 50W so no, it's fine. That 250W recommendation is for the whole system, and it's only because you can't really find power supplies lower than that anymore. And bottleneck is different than power draw.

@@CarinoGamingStudio as long as that doesn't require PCIe aux power it should be fine. Slot width may be an issue depending on model. 3010 is okay for 2-slot LP cards but 3020 is not. It's about the slot placement.
@@SeeJayPlayGamesSo, a RX 550 4gb (low profile) can support 255w?
yes, at least the Dell RX 550 card can... which is gimped in VBIOS settings to 32W max. Though that may not have even been necessary, and it can be hacked. I tried some settings and was greeted with a black screen... I was afraid I bricked my card; thankfully I could flash it back to defaults (after booting with integrated video) and it works again.
