  • Hello! I'm Aja Dang and in today's video we are moving to Houston! I didn't vlog as much as I would've liked because it was pretty chaotic toward the end of the week but I recorded what I could. It has been about two weeks since we moved and the to-do liist keeps piling up and the rest of the home downpayment fund is officially $0. It get easier...right? lol
    ps. The Trazodone didn't really work on Luke. It knocked Levi out though.

    Welcome to Texas, Aja and Brian!! I can't imagine the culture shock going from LA to Texas, but I hope you like it here. The biggest change will be for the pups...Texas is nothing in comparison to CA as far as being dog friendly. And get ready for the heat! Hope you are getting settled in and enjoying your new place!😊

    Welcome to Houston and congrats on your new home! I moved to Baltimore but then I missed the Chinatown food, warm weather and cheaper living so I moved back to Houston 2 years later.

    Welcome to Houston!!! ❤❤❤❤❤ You are going to love it. Most underrated big city in America. I am born and raised here and can tell you the people are REAL and friendly, the food is AMAZING, the shopping is world class, and the Live Oak Trees are our hidden treasures. We are a very green city with all the old oaks and that always surprises visitors. All that Houston rain makes our trees sing! For a little history and outdoor beauty in Houston go for a walk at the historic Glenwood Cemetery. 80 acres of hills, fountains, ancient oaks, old carriage paths and landscapes started in 1871. It’s a favorite spot to walk dogs and power walk for Houstonians in the know. And one of only a few Park Cemeteries in America. There are online guides for the historical people buried there.

    I would recommend checking floors for mold since who knows how long the water has been sitting there. If there's mold, you can get compensation from owner etc.

      would that have been something the inspector would've found?

      @@AjaDangJumping in to say that I’m almost one year into me being in my home. No, the inspectors can miss quite a lot. They missed quite a bit on my end, but thankfully I have church members and friends who have volunteered to fix some things around the house. Albeit, the inspector did say they he may miss some things. I am glad that the inspector found termite damage that they did fix and treat. I have a historical home, so they had to do this house right. I can’t even make changes to the exterior myself, so I’m looking at them like this 👀 “Start this out right!”

      Inspector gets most things but not all if just visual inspection. Esp with mold...it may not show. Also depends if you live in humid state...there's always alot one doesn't know when buying a house...that's where a GOOD and knowledgable real estate agent/broker comes in handy!

      Every home in Houston has mold. At the very least there will be mold in the air ducts. It's so humid here. Also, u can take care of the mold urself. Just dry the wood out and pour cleaning Vinegar on it.

Which I was not told by any of my friends lol. Hopefully we’ll cross paths in Houston. I’ve been watching you for a long time and I am debt free because of you.

    Can you do a video about the process you went through to buy in a different state? Did you take trips to see the place and if so when and how often? How did you get the keys to the place? Also can you go into detail about movers? Did you have to plan the day you arrived with the day the movers arrived?

    • @AjaDang
      @AjaDang  Рік тому +1

      Since Brian is from Houston and we can stay with family it was easy. We went one time in Feb. to look and that's when we found our house so there was no back and forth. We just had to go back to sign all the paperwork and that was it. For the movers, I called them two weeks before we left. Roadway quoted me anywhere between 2 - 4 weeks for our items to arrive so we just had the movers take things that we didn't need immediately. Fortunately, they ended up delivering our items two days after we arrived so it was perfect timing.
