- Hello! I'm Aja Dang and in today's video we are moving to Houston! I didn't vlog as much as I would've liked because it was pretty chaotic toward the end of the week but I recorded what I could. It has been about two weeks since we moved and the to-do liist keeps piling up and the rest of the home downpayment fund is officially $0. It get easier...right? lol
ps. The Trazodone didn't really work on Luke. It knocked Levi out though.

Please bring us along on this renovation journey Aja! With transparent costs (as always) included… So interesting as someone who just started saving their downpayment ❣️ congratulations by the way!
I definitely will
Welcome to Texas, Aja and Brian!! I can't imagine the culture shock going from LA to Texas, but I hope you like it here. The biggest change will be for the pups...Texas is nothing in comparison to CA as far as being dog friendly. And get ready for the heat! Hope you are getting settled in and enjoying your new place!😊
Congratulations to you both! 🎉🎊🥳🥂 Wishing you all the best in your new home as homeowners ❤ Thank you for sharing the process, it has been so insightful as always. Stay safe and well 🩷🩵
thank you!!
Welcome to Houston and congrats on your new home! I moved to Baltimore but then I missed the Chinatown food, warm weather and cheaper living so I moved back to Houston 2 years later.
Welcome to Houston!!! ❤❤❤❤❤ You are going to love it. Most underrated big city in America. I am born and raised here and can tell you the people are REAL and friendly, the food is AMAZING, the shopping is world class, and the Live Oak Trees are our hidden treasures. We are a very green city with all the old oaks and that always surprises visitors. All that Houston rain makes our trees sing! For a little history and outdoor beauty in Houston go for a walk at the historic Glenwood Cemetery. 80 acres of hills, fountains, ancient oaks, old carriage paths and landscapes started in 1871. It’s a favorite spot to walk dogs and power walk for Houstonians in the know. And one of only a few Park Cemeteries in America. There are online guides for the historical people buried there.
I can agree that everyone I've come in contact with has been incredibly nice.
Seeing the dogs so happy made me sooo emotional!!!!!Congrats!!!
Congratulations to both of you!!!! Seeing how the dogs are so excited makes me so happy! This is giving me so much inspiration with my own journey as I am also wanting to save up for my very first home 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You have really expressive, adorable dogs and I love that you handled the trip with them so sensitively.
I would recommend checking floors for mold since who knows how long the water has been sitting there. If there's mold, you can get compensation from owner etc.
would that have been something the inspector would've found?
@@AjaDangJumping in to say that I’m almost one year into me being in my home. No, the inspectors can miss quite a lot. They missed quite a bit on my end, but thankfully I have church members and friends who have volunteered to fix some things around the house. Albeit, the inspector did say they he may miss some things. I am glad that the inspector found termite damage that they did fix and treat. I have a historical home, so they had to do this house right. I can’t even make changes to the exterior myself, so I’m looking at them like this 👀 “Start this out right!”
Inspector gets most things but not all if just visual inspection. Esp with mold...it may not show. Also depends if you live in humid state...there's always alot one doesn't know when buying a house...that's where a GOOD and knowledgable real estate agent/broker comes in handy!
Every home in Houston has mold. At the very least there will be mold in the air ducts. It's so humid here. Also, u can take care of the mold urself. Just dry the wood out and pour cleaning Vinegar on it.
Congratulations! Thanks for opening your home and your life to us - it's inspiring to watch your journey. Thanks for keeping it real, always, too. ❤
Congratulations Aja! You deserve everything. Thanks for helping me learn how to budget, I am in a much better place because of you.
Congrats on the new house! Would love to hear about your experience with peer space! What you think, how it is to rent out a space and anything you learn!
yes! after a couple of months I'll do an update
Congratulations 🎉 welcome to Houston! Been a fan of you guys since I started college. Can’t wait to see more vlogs as y’all explore Houston 😊
Congrats to y’all two. Welcome to Houston. I too recently purchased a home and what you’re going through is relatable and apparently very normal for new homeowners. Which I was not told by any of my friends lol. Hopefully we’ll cross paths in Houston. I’ve been watching you for a long time and I am debt free because of you.
congrats on your purchase!
Welcome to Houston!!! Remember hurricane season starts June 1st! There will be many more storms over the summer….I’m also in Houston, hope to see you around!! Welcome!!!!
Congratulations. Did you have an inspection? If they missed a gas issue, or the water at the front door issue, you may have recourse.
we did have an inspection but we moved in about a month after it happened so who knows.
Speak with your realtor

Suppose to be packed the night (day) before.

Hi Aja, I love the brown leather couch my bf has been looking for one like that. Do you mind telling me where you got it from?
The doggos being soooo happy with the yard and home 🥹🥹🥹 congratulations Aja!!
Levi will not leave the yard.
I really hope u got permission to have their faces appear so publicly. I need to start paying better attention to cameras I would hate if I randomly ended up on yt just doing my job lol. wish u both the best in your new house!
Lol@the doggy breakdown 😢..poor little guy 😂
so dramatic.
Always surprised when influencers film the move like ya'll really don't have too it's so stressful I could never.
yaaaa.. it's not the best idea lol
The first two years of first time house ownership is the hardest
I believe that for sure.
Can you do a video about the process you went through to buy in a different state? Did you take trips to see the place and if so when and how often? How did you get the keys to the place? Also can you go into detail about movers? Did you have to plan the day you arrived with the day the movers arrived?
Since Brian is from Houston and we can stay with family it was easy. We went one time in Feb. to look and that's when we found our house so there was no back and forth. We just had to go back to sign all the paperwork and that was it. For the movers, I called them two weeks before we left. Roadway quoted me anywhere between 2 - 4 weeks for our items to arrive so we just had the movers take things that we didn't need immediately. Fortunately, they ended up delivering our items two days after we arrived so it was perfect timing.
Thank you so much Aja! This is super helpful
Congratulations!!!! Awwww the pups are so happy, that is a plus. Enjoy your new home. 🎉
So exciting! Looking forward to hearing more about this new chapter :)
🙏🏻🙏🏻
I want to knock down a non-load bearing wall in my house to open up the living room to the dining room. Out of curiosity, what quote did they give you? I got a quote for $10K. Trying to see if that's a fair deal or not
More people priced out of CA. Good luck in texas
Aja, enjoy your new home ❤
😘
14:12 famous last words 👀 honey! Embrace the challenges and journey. You’re doing so well and you’re so loved by your community. You’re capable of so much so who knows … your creativity might take you into more home improvements as you make your new space your sanctuary. ❤
To replace new hardwood floors cost over $10,000
love this content !! look forward to more updates on the house
Ur face is glowy. What did u use?
Aja gets monthly facials! They’re in her non-negotiables 😊
Oo @ajadang what kind of facials do u recommend
@@geeeenaa the facial you should be is dependent on your skin and your wants. I would find an esthetician near you and see what they recommend. Don't get any peels or anything your first time though!
So exciting!!!
Could you temporarily tile the just the door entry as a short term fix to prevent mold while you figure out if you’d be able to take down walls/future layout for flooring? O.o
Brian bought something from Amazon that hopefully might help, but we'll see.
Aja! How do you get through a workout on your first day of period? I need some tips giiirl
I normally workout after my craps. I have cramps for about 2-3 hours and then it's ok. I just feel sluggish. but also, I just go as hard as my body will let me. I don't push it.
Why did you guys decide to move to Houston? Congrats on your new home! 😀
Brian has family here and is thinking about opening a brick and motor business so it made sense to buy something here (plus we could afford it vs LA)
Welcome home y'all!!! So excited!!
I appreciate it!
Welcome to the armpit of Texas!
