Love love love Denise! She was always there encouraging me when I first started my “quilting journey “ after my retirement! We sure miss her shop in Hesperia!
Love you and miss you too, my friend!

Thank you, Judy!
Hey Denise! Nice to see your Handi Quilter career is thriving! Sounds like Ken and the family are doing well - glad to hear that. Sure do miss having a local quilt store and Handi Quilter resource! Take care!
Thank you! So great to hear from you, Kellie!
Hi Denise! I got to meet you at QuiltCon last weekend and you were so kind and helpful!! Glad to see you on here!
I was so good to meet you last week at the retreat. You were so helpful and patient. Congratulations. You will be an awesome instructor.
Thank you, Caroline. You were a joy to have in class, I love your enthusiasm for learning!
Wow Denise, our stories are so similar. Kindred spirits❣️
Welcome and thank you for sharing your inspiration and courage I need to push that button. 🙂 I would love to see what sort of longarm setups you use to do those small practice pieces. Can’t seem to wrap my head around how that looks.
First, I load a backing as I usually would. I make sure the backing is 8" longer and 8" wider than my project and pin it to the leaders attached to the backing poles. Next, I load a small project by adding a layer of batting over the backing, then place the quilt top over the batting and baste into place through all 3 layers. I usually baste the entire perimeter on a small project before beginning any quilting.
Fun show and tell!
Yay Denise!
Hi Jan!!!
I use a double layer of inexpensive craft felt for practice. It is also easier to put together than a quilt sandwich with some batting. When I'm done with a piece, I fold it up, and for some reason, our cat likes to sit on it.
Great idea! My cats love to sit on quilts, too :)
Hello Kristina and Denise! Thank you for sharing so many beautiful pieces of INSPIRATION! Denise, can you tell me the name of the pattern for the batik quilt that looks like interlocking pieces, please?
Thank you for your kind words, Joette! It's been a while since that quilt top was pieced- I wish I remembered the pattern used for the batik quilt! When I remember I will come back here and add that information.
I haven't been able to find the quilt pattern that I used; however, I remember the pattern is a Drunkards path variation. I hope that helps!
The quilt is a free pattern from Sew Kind Of Wonderful- Mini Mod Tiles
@@denisedowdrick5268 Thank you Denise. I have that ruler and I now also have that pattern! I am looking forward to seeing more videos from Handi Quilter featuring your happy face!
How do you put the small blocks on the longarm?
