same va for batman from asylum and city. kevin conroy passed in 2022, this game came out in 2015 which is crzy to think about especially because of how gorgeous this game still is
This is the first time I've been here for a reaction along with the creator! ALSO Not muting the audio for a better viewing experience... Prioritizing the viewers over revenue. Man, we love a creator who does it for their love of the game. I really appreciate it.
Idk if you know this but in order to see the true ending of the game you need you do everything, including the riddler quest. (100%) Idk why they did it that way.
I can't believe how much ambient attention to detail they put into that diner scene. They have two inconsequential NPC's having an in-depth conversation that isnt part of any story scene- that's insane genius levels of commitment.
@@melvingenao550arkham asylum is way better wdym it's the best arkham 😂😂 and in terms of graphics some things aged ofc the game still looks pretty but the lightning and the rain helps alot without those things the game wouldn't be this good graphically today
RIP Kevin Conroy, this is the last game I played with his voice (grew up with him as the voice of Batman in the animated shows universe). I'm only just starting this episode so I don't know what this comment is you've made Whimsy about not recognising Kevin's voice, but I'm sure it'll be funny
I'm like 'mmmh who's this I wonder' and then 'it feels different' and then 'ooh batman feels even colder and more distant, I wonder if it's partly because it might be another actor?' and it's just really RIDICULOUS 😂
@@WhimsyPsyche Kevin was told by the devs to act "colder" and more distant in Knight because they wanted to show how the deaths of Talia and Joker affected him. Don't know if you noticed, but his "distant" voice actually started in the Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC from City. It's more noticeable there since those Talia and Joker deaths were very recent to the events of the DLC (Knight takes place 9 months after City).
It’s mind-blowing that this game will turn 10 years old next year and still looks incredible. Great art direction and meticulous attention to detail truly age like fine wine. 23:41 This is Kevin Conroy voicing Batman, the same actor who voiced Arkham Batman in the first two games. For Arkham Origins, a different voice cast was used since the original Arkham actors were busy working on Arkham Knight. The change fit well, as Arkham Origins featured a younger Batman. That said, Kevin Conroy has voiced Batman at various stages of life. He's voiced a teenage, young adult, adult, middle age and old man Bruce so he could have done the role. However, he wasn’t involved in Arkham Origins and reportedly wasn’t even aware of its development at the time.
Fun fact: Lucius Fox first appeared in the comics, but it’s in the Chris Nolan trilogy that he first became an inventor. They needed someone to play the “Q” role, but didn’t want to have to add a character.
You can actually change the mindset of the officer affected by the toxin at the beginning. If you don't shoot anyone they have dialogue about it, as opposed to his reactions in yours. Worth it for a replay.
1:27:07 hey Whimsey, you should press the punch button the next couple of times when you visit the GCPC when near this militia thug. You won’t regret it ;)
This is gonna be so epic! Btw, Whimsy, seems that you don't have the Season of Infamy DLC installed already, the one that adds more story focused Side Missions (and the best of the whole game). The reason I can see those are not installed yet is because this DLC also adds another room in the GCPD building, and is missing here. Anyways, between this playthrough and the Peace Walker one, this week is PACKED and I am here for it!
When you get to the roof of Wayne Tower you can see Arkham City and Old Gotham from Arkham Origins out in the distance. Also Kevin Conroy is still doing the voice for Batman/ Bruce Wayne. Batman still feels responsible for the aftermath of Arkham City. So many Easter eggs in this one
It was way ahead of its time. It was a 2015 game looking like a 2019/20 game, it's insane. Rocksteady STILL hasn't given it a 4k/60FPS upgrade to this day. It would benefit heavily from it.
Batman is pretty much VERY affected by the Joker dying. You're right he is colder and more brutal. He kinda feels responsible by that and you can also see how much he changed because now he is using real bullets in his batmobile even though it's not to kill people but traversal and stuff. He is getting very lost indeed in his way and Joker in the end kinda got what he wanted. To Batman finally do what's necessary to win and break his one rule! He didn't killed nobody but it's very close to just snap. Joker is still in his mind in a different way after his death. Can't wait to see more of your gameplay.
I'm so happy I've been a part of this journey from the beginning ❤️ be sure to listen to every dialogues and interact with every NPCs and characters in this game... They always have something interesting to say (even the normal goons)
@@WhimsyPsyche Well ackchuallyyyy, you have the option of getting it early like you did, or the game itself will give you the objective later for a specific mission. It's impossible to miss.
Yay, I'm glad you've gotten to Knight! This is my favorite Arkham game, it makes me the most emotional. And I'm glad you're gonna play through it slowly, there is SO MUCH to take in with this one, it's literally insane how much detail they put into this game. And yeah, Kevin Conroy is still Batman in this one, lol! The events of City did a number on Bruce, I'd say, and I love how Kevin brings that across in his voice acting. Speaking of voice acting, Scarecrow is voiced by John Noble, who played Denethor in Lord of the Rings, in this game! And he did AMAZING!
I'm trying really hard to catch up to your latest episode before you finish the game, but I'm finally here at my favorite game of the whole series, after seeing your playthroughs of the other ones! I'm so ready!!
05:43 Close, but it's "I've Got You Under My Skin" that he sings, bu actually 08:53 "Only you (and you alone)" that the Joker sings in end Arkham City. Also the place you are is called "Pauli's Diner", in reference to Paul Dini, producer and writer of Batman: the animated series as well as writer of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.
This is awesome. I really really recommend sticking around when thugs talk so you can hear their dialogue. Also certain characters comment more if you stand around them a while longer, that way you can hear dialogue you would otherwise have missed! Keep it up
LETS GO!!!!!!!! I got this midnight release back in 2015. This game was ahead of its time graphics wise. It was really an incredible sight even still it is. Also if Gordon sounds familiar its because hes voices in arkham knight by the guy who played Mike in Breaking bad/Better call Saul. Johnathan Banks. And yes Batman was once again played by Kevin Conroy.
Super hyped for this playthrough! Arkham knight is my favorite of the Arkham games becauwe the storyline is basex on one of my favorite batman comics. On a seperate note, in my youtube review you were my most viewed gaming channel this year, thank you for all the quality entertainement!
I had exactly the same reaction when I saw the Batmobile for the first time. Giggling away to myself chasing that car. I'm really excited to watch all of this playthough. Amazing as always Whimsy 😊
57:12 - don't you worry. Everybody knows that high voltage nullifies kinetic energy, so that thug is probably still alive... with a couple broken bones, though xD
What a game. Perfect dark tone, gorgeous visuals, the legend Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman, full of lovely easter eggs and references and the gameplay is top notch. I had to boot this up after a long hiatus today because of your first episode to pummel some thugs too! ps. I highly recommend changing the tank mode from hold to toggle, makes things easier with one less button to worry about in the heat of battle.
Yay!! I’m glad you are gonna take this game slow cuz it is worth it. I’m still amazed how this game looks to this day. You are one of the few that actually broke the glass for Batman’s weapon. Fun fact: there are different dialogues if you didn’t shoot anybody in the diner. I can’t wait for more 😊
You don’t need to go all the way around a tunnel to get across the hole. It’s harder than just riding the wall. If you see a green car, chase it, don’t go into battle mode, hit it with a heat seeker, then wait for the guy to get out. You can then interrogate him. Tip: take out all the guys near an informant with your Batmobile. Still in the car, face the informant until the x,x prompt comes up. You’ll fly at the informant, incapacitate him, then you can easily interrogate him.
I'm sure I'm not the first person to wonder if Riddler wants Batman to win. After all, he doesn't HAVE to design riddles that can be won. Also, I'm convinced that Edward Nigma could absolutely run a successful fun house. I know I'd go back if he had all those puzzles to solve, with new ones to come. Thanks for another amazing video!
20:10 Didn't know you're a werewolf, with all the howling at the moon. 😂 I love how the batmobile just crashes through everything, even corners of buildings. 35:15 Took you long to mention the motion blur. It was so prominent during the first person part at the beginning. Scarecrow should do ASMR. He has a great voice. 01:37:25 I think he just got out of bed. He's in his pyjamas. That was quite the start. So many new things! Super fun episode! Have an amazing rest of your weekend, Whimsy!
I must say; seeing the Joker throughout the Arkham series never gets old as he is as awesome as hell😁🤩. Seeing the Scarecrow in this game😯🤯, is absolutely underrated😈🎃!
👏👏👏 Nice start ,Whimsy. So admire of u looking into small deatails right at the get go. BTW Despite the fact of this being the final game we get to play as kevin-voiced Batman ,I'm so glad they gave the chance to ride the batmobile at the last minute.
There were a lot of people (just like you) who thought that the joker was alive at the time the game was coming out, they invented a lot of theories at the time trying to prove that he had survived the end of City, so this scene in the crematorium is like Rocksteady saying: "Guys, he is dead! Here let me set him on fire to make sure you understand"
Thus begins the longest and most dangerous Halloween night ever. Game still looks amazing. Some didn't like the overwhelming amount of Batmobile activity involved but there's still plenty of the old brawling and stealthing to satisfy fans of the series. In fact I predict this will be twice the length of previous Arham playthroughs.
The Vulcan gun won't damage drones. However, if you hit their sensor (the blue light on their left side), they will go down in one hit. So be precise with it and not spam. Oh, and you can take out missiles with the vulcan gun as well.
I'd recommend 100% the game before finishing the main story (before the final mission) and listening to all the audio tapes, in order to experience the full story. I wouldn't recommend doing all of it after you are finished with the main story, there are certain scenes that add to the story if you do the side missions for example, audio logs as well, so it will be more impactful if you do the side stuff first before the last mission, especially because you can't even get the full ending unless you do the side stuff, but that's not the only reason.
Do you have the season of infamy dlc? It adds 4 more great side missions that are unlocked as you progress the main story. Loving the arkham playthroughs!
Nice to see you finally playing Arkham Night Whimsy! 😁 . I strongly suggest you to acquire the DLCs they nicely integrate to the history. Fun fact about Owens the cop in the prison, you are him during the beginning sequence of the fear toxin. The dialog is different if shoot someone or not Another thing is that for some reason is raining on interiors, it's a bug that I never seen 😅
If some other developer makes Batman games, I must insist that they have civilians in it and not always try to work the story in such a way that they all leave or are behind closed doors because of snowfall and such. I want to do a regular month as Batman and not the batshit insane stuff that happens in the Arkham games.
I would love to play a Batman game with a more Spiderman-esque structure: open world Gotham with civilians that would get in trouble in the more secluded parts of the city and you could swoop down to kick some ass and disappear. It could have some strong stealth mechanics where you had to limit your visibility to the public in contrast to the Spiderman games.
Love your playthroughs Whimsy. Been a fan since you started Metal Gear. 😊 Lotta people dont notice but theres an option under settings to change battle mode (while in the batmobile) to toggle so you dont have to hold it which in my opinion is way more intuitive if you'd care to give it a try. Also not sure if you have any of the dlcs but theres races that let you use all the batmobiles from the movies on themed tracks that recreate moments from each respective film that are pretty fun in the main menu. Hope you enjoy your time with Arkham Knight. It's a real gem 👍
Never saw the rain bug inside the Clocktower before. 😂 Be sure to install the "Season of Infamy" DLC asap. It adds 4 new side missons to the Main game you can play them through the main story and in my opinion they are the best in the whole game. ❤ Love your Arkham journey so far and looking forward to new Vids. 🤗
Whimsy, in canon hush is not a serial killer, many people think that but hush is more an anti-batman, and he have more morale that Batman, that is the rivalry because batman try to kill him and betray hush to save joker, hush want kill joker and Hush made joker cry with trauma. I LOVE hush become he goes from having more morale with women than Batman (from defending them to save their lives like poison Ivy and care about Barbara tragedy, so that Batman doesn't manipulate them to eliminate enemies...) to going crazy and being his most dangerous enemy ripping out catwoman heart due to the situation bruce put him in by making Hush believe that all the women near bruce are trash that helping bruce the same guy that save joker, so much so that he knows that the joker is the one who did so much harm to Barbara and Hush reproaches Bruce "You say sorry to Barbara Gordon?" it's so awesome Although forget about seeing hush in Knight with good writing since Paul Dini(one of Batman fathers for me), the one who understand him, IS no longer here :( They even confused his motivation and his past again, he is motivated by freedom not money
Remember ,U have a battle mode toggle on /off setting in game options ,if U are feeling uncomfortable on keep holding down button (Sorry for not knowing the button name of the console ,I'm more of a PC player) ,so U can enter battle mode just by one click & another whenever U go back to the pursuit mode (the normal way how batmobile looks like a car).
I played this, for the first time, only a couple of years ago. Except for 1 specific part of the game, I thought everything else was fantastic! Especially the batmobile. It makes no logical sense sometimes, but who cares?! It's awesome!! You're gonna love it! Be careful in the main menu. I somewhat remember there being a story spoiler in one of the sub-menus. Any word on if you're planning on checking out Shadow of Mordor, in the future? Sorry if you've already answered this. 😊😊
57:10 No ,actually The batmobile have some electric defense mechanism. So when it comes to hitting thugs on the road ,It actually shock them enough to push & throw them away so they won't get killed. So we can drive , crashing through everything while preserving his no-kill rule. Sometimes there are moments where thugs gathering around the car & start poking or throwing bricks /stuff on to it when u free roam without it. There's a cool moment when U are uphigh somewhere above near ,the game gives u a prompt to activate the batmobile defense ,which make the car go full elecrify around and stun all thugs around. Also I noticed the camera is a bit far behind when u are in the car. Probably u have clicked the button for "cycle view" option. Check it on batmobile battle mode settings on control scheme
It's cool to see the PS4 version of this game. I have it on xbox. (Playstation has the exclusive scarecrow batmobile missions that you played) and also if you go in the main menu of the game in your showcase section you can change the batmobile and playable character skins. On PS4 batman has an exclusive Adam West batman skin. Rest is the same on every version.
To those who do not know much of Scarecrow throughout the Arkham series: When Scarecrow attempted to challenged Batman and tries to subdue him using his furthest toxin experiments, Killer Croc snatched him from the behind in the sewers. What he did when he drag Scarecrow down the sewers, well, I probably do not want to explain too much details of what really happened to him. The only reason Scarecrow wears a different mask. As his costume joins in his body expressing his deep personal love and ambition as the Scarecrow himself, reborn from the sewers after the death as Jonathan Crane, looking like some reanimated corpse risen once again with one sole purpose: to burn down Gotham and Batman sees it before his permanent death. The only reason I admire him strongly.

Scarecrow should do ASMR. He has a great voice.
01:37:25 I think he just got out of bed. He's in his pyjamas.
That was quite the start. So many new things!
Super fun episode! Have an amazing rest of your weekend, Whimsy!
the dialogue skipper is at it again lmaoo I'm so excited for this playthrough
Everybody seems to forget Ivy's powers include _mind control..._ poor Boulden just got pheromoned, it's not his fault😂
Yes 🙌! Finally the game I’ve been waiting for! Whimsy, you’re gonna love it!
Gotham is in for one Long Halloween. 🦇🎃
What did a told myself when Whimsy started playing Arkham KNight?
About time. This is one of my favourite Arkham game series.
My favorite in the series! This game goes hard as hell, whimsy. 🦇🦇
Lmao Barbara left the sprinkler system on before she left
This is the peak of game playing certainly in the gaming mainstream industry
Wow, I haven`t seen this before. Scarecrow just turned Gothem City into hell.
1:16:25 U can also find another surprise gadget, freeze blast in panessa studios, when u get to go inside later in the story.
RIP Kevin Conroy. Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight would have been lost without your voice acting.
Wait. We still have Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate, Arkham Shadow and Assult on Arkham film to go through, Whimsy.
Assassins Creed Syndicate recently got a patch for 4k/60fps and this gives me that someday the same will happen with Arkham Knight.
The dialog is different if shoot someone or not
Another thing is that for some reason is raining on interiors, it's a bug that I never seen 😅
its latterly 11:55 PM right now, but a Whimsy Batman vid is more important than sleep :)
Batman Arkham knight was the very first Arkham game i played and it's my favorite one out of all of them
If some other developer makes Batman games, I must insist that they have civilians in it and not always try to work the story in such a way that they all leave or are behind closed doors because of snowfall and such.
Remember that you have to complete the game 100%, side missions and riddler trophies and all, to get the true ending.
Love your playthroughs Whimsy. Been a fan since you started Metal Gear. 😊
Lotta people dont notice but theres an option under settings to change battle mode (while in the batmobile) to toggle so you dont have to hold it which in my opinion is way more intuitive if you'd care to give it a try.
Also not sure if you have any of the dlcs but theres races that let you use all the batmobiles from the movies on themed tracks that recreate moments from each respective film that are pretty fun in the main menu.
Hope you enjoy your time with Arkham Knight. It's a real gem 👍
If Whimsey plays this one new game plus, the intro will be ever so slightly different. Hope she finds out herself. (incert laughter)
i played that game 10+ times.. it never gets boring . hope you liked it
The dialogue for the traumatized cop is slightly different if you didn't shoot anyone in the diner prologue
Never saw the rain bug inside the Clocktower before. 😂
Be sure to install the "Season of Infamy" DLC asap. It adds 4 new side missons to the Main game you can play them through the main story and in my opinion they are the best in the whole game. ❤
Love your Arkham journey so far and looking forward to new Vids. 🤗
Oh boy it’s here! Time to settle down with my dinner and watch. Pumped for this! 😃
Whimsy, in canon hush is not a serial killer, many people think that but hush is more an anti-batman, and he have more morale that Batman, that is the rivalry because batman try to kill him and betray hush to save joker, hush want kill joker and Hush made joker cry with trauma. I LOVE hush become he goes from having more morale with women than Batman (from defending them to save their lives like poison Ivy and care about Barbara tragedy, so that Batman doesn't manipulate them to eliminate enemies...) to going crazy and being his most dangerous enemy ripping out catwoman heart due to the situation bruce put him in by making Hush believe that all the women near bruce are trash that helping bruce the same guy that save joker, so much so that he knows that the joker is the one who did so much harm to Barbara and Hush reproaches Bruce "You say sorry to Barbara Gordon?" it's so awesome
Although forget about seeing hush in Knight with good writing since Paul Dini(one of Batman fathers for me), the one who understand him, IS no longer here :(
They even confused his motivation and his past again, he is motivated by freedom not money
I tell u this, u either will love or hate that Batmobile 😅 I sucked with that thing in tank battles 😂
This is still Kevin Conroy voicing Batman in this one. I don't know any VA that sounds even remotely like him.
I can't believe you made it to the right Riddler rule!
I AM INNSSAAAANNNNEEEELLLLYYYYYY EXCITED FOR THIS ONE!!!!!!
Holy moly we're finally here❤
57:10 No ,actually The batmobile have some electric defense mechanism.
You have become my favorite upload notification
This game came out 9 years ago, and it wipes the floor with Gotham Knights, from 2022.
Absolutely . Peak mainstream gaming
Kevin Conroy is the actor in this game, he’s the voice from Asylum and City.
So it begins...
To those who do not know much of Scarecrow throughout the Arkham series:
When Scarecrow attempted to challenged Batman and tries to subdue him using his furthest toxin experiments, Killer Croc snatched him from the behind in the sewers.
