- Опубліковано 12 лип 2024
- Despite being a fairly small country, there are a couple of domestic flights you can take within Israel. We flew on Arkia's Embraer 195 from Eilat J. Hozman to Tel Aviv Sde Dov Airport, both unfortunately have shut their doors since.

In memory of Eilat and Sde Dov airports 😢
Thank you
NYLUB why were they shut down? I’m assuming this Eilat one was shutdown because it was so small but why side dov?
@@terguo Sde Dov was closed in favor of a real estate project of 8000 housing units in the area where it was located. Eilat Airport was one of the only airports in the world located right in the city center, adjacent to the main road. Planes coming to Eilat were just above the people's heads, it was crazy and wonderful at the time. I remember standing at a store in the mid of the street near the field fences when Boeing 757 passed about 50 meters above my head and freaking me out. Today, Ramon Airport is in service instead of the two closed airports. I will definitely miss sde Dov Airport and Eilat Airport.
R.I.P
@@morgweta4615 But maybe Eilat residents will welcome the calm? ;-)
@@olmaBLN There were no residents near the airport. Mostly commercial areas and hotels
8:27 Very good location for a chimney
Every other Aviation enthusiast:Boarding is starting soon so lets go to the gate
Me:Runs to gate at FinalCall
No me it's either getting stuck in security of duty free or you're in London Stansted and can't get anywhere
Wow! What a beautiful country Israel is!!!
This is a historic video since both these airports are gone now. Thanks for documenting this.
I miss Sde Dov in particular, that small bridge you can see right before the landing was a great place to planespot, it was always exciting when one of the Embraers came through to land because it seemed huge compared to all the private planes.
3:41 it needs to be a fast turn so the plan won't enter Jordanian airspace since Eilat is only 2.5 km from the border with Jordan
Israeli planes are allowed to enter Jordanian airspace. Moreover Eilat's new airport is literally on border with Jordan - the airport's runway eastern fence is the border.
@@liorlevin3559 צודק אחי
@@liorlevin3559 Maybe they were simply avoiding foreign airspace on a domestic flight to avoid paying fees.
That was a nice turn just for landing.
And it looks when you show us the inflight magazine that Arkia has a different livery for each aircraft type they use, never seen that before.
There are a couple of airlines which have slightly different liveries for each plane including Norwegian, Frontier and Air India Express :)
The livery looks really nice.. The terminal is really close to the runway...!!! The Ejet is such a lovely regional jet...
The views out of your window were beautiful!
That view from Eilat is beautiful. Tele Aviv looks like a Lego set with all those white buildings lol
Wow. I like flying in aircrafts that do not have noisy engines. Perfect views. Nice, Simply Aviation! :)
Hey Felix! Great video, I didn't know about this airline, now I do! Thanks for sharing!
MrClawz man Im from Israel so I sure I do
what an unbelievable approach.
and the take off was probably due to safety reasons
What do you mean by safety reasons?
@@COB2403 israel is surrounded by people who more or less hate them. i just imagine that they do a steep climb after take off to be as safe as possible. even if eilat isnt the most endangered place there
Maybe it just looks that way because the runway is narrow and there are a lot of buildings nearby. Also, I noticed it turned left immediately to avoid entering Jordanian airspace.
As an Israeli I can tell you that it isn't because of safety since we have a peace treaty and a friendly relationship with Jordan.
It's because the Jordanian airport serving the city of Aqaba is only 9 km away from the old airport and 12 km from the new one
@@nickplokhotnik7799 thank you 👍
Amazing!!! Waited for this for a long time..
Ramon airport already open, Eilat airport closed, and really I don't know how can You get lost in Israeli airports, at least in terminal 1 and terminal 3 in TLV It's really straight forward...
Great report! Loved that their map was done in their livery!
What a hard landing! But great views along the flight.
you had to do hard landings on that airport since the runway is awfully short for the modern plane. the E195 is the biggest aircraft to land there
This flight is great. Beautiful weather and nice sightseeing.. Great plane
By the way, beautiful scenery! Nice work, Felix!!
Wow! I flew the same route yesterday! The views are something I'll never forget :)
I was waiting for this vlog!!!
Wow! The livery of this airline is beautiful and it's fast speed during takeoff and landing amazes me compared to some other planes
I lived on a kibbutz about half an hour north of Eilat, and when i served in the Israeli military, and i was stationed up north, by the Lebanese border, the military will pay for our flights on the weekends to home and back to the base, great experience. Since I was infantry I had my rifle with me at all times (yes, Israeli soldiers take their weapons with them home on the weekends), we had to always store the rifle in the front of the airplane. I never got to use the new airport, Ramon International airport.
Beautiful scenery !
Enjoying a cup of coffee and a new tripreport just before heading to school.Life is good :)
I agree. That livery is simply stunning!
Was für ein schöner Flug! Da hattet ihr echt Glück mit dem Wetter. Die E195 ist für mich eines der leisesten und bequemsten Flugzeuge ihrer Klasse. 😝🍀
Fantastic Trip Report Simply Aviation! Liked
Great review as always. That scenery is incredible! :)
Beautiful and magical flight. Very enjoyable to watch. Thanks for sharing.
love the video as always
breathtaking view!
What a amazing flight. I enjoyed a lot the views thought the window.
I'm so glad you finally visited Israel!
Yeah that takeoff definetly looked fast. Btw nice video I have waited for an Arkia report for a bit of time now. Greetings (from a non-Israeli)
5:05 Those look like some really weird A321s and Embraers...
is that supposed to be the fleet page or what the liveries are going to be for Arkia's new fleet?
byebye006 looks like a 757
Yep, that's the fleet page. They have just a handful of aircraft. Each one is named after an Israeli singer or some other celebrity from the past and has a different livery.
Amazing flight !!! I love it !😍😍
Beautiful video, and such stunning views of Israel! =D
These views were STUNNING !!
Hey! you are right mostly in every Embraer (190 - 195) you will feel the high speed when taking off as well you might feel the angle of attack a little bit high. greetings from Brazil!
Lindo aviao, adoro trabalhar nele aqui em Israel :)
I love your trip reports
I’m literally addicted to your videos
Magnificent views! I hope to go to Israel before too much longer. I had not considered Eilat, but the views from the aircraft alone would made the flight worthwhile! Thank you for the video!
You're finally visiting Israel, awesome!
כע הגיע הזמן
@@Francisco-sv5zz כן צודק חחח אללה איזה כיף
Breathtaking views 🤩
The best trip report ever
That's funny you said that about the takeoff because I thought the SAME THING, def high speed it seemed. I had to watch it again because I thought you sped it up like you usually do ;-)
Rayan
Yay another video (:
Finaly in israel 👌👍
Another good trip report nice vid felix
Excellent video!
Stunning outside views.
Arkia aircraft had a missed a missile in Kenya just before the attacks in the hotels!! Great video!! Thanks for sharing it!!
love them all!
Nice and Embraer ad at the start
Sde Dov will cease operations on 1 July 2019 unless the IAA and Tel Aviv municipality will manage to prevent that.
Lovely video, hope you enjoyed your staying here :D
@@BGI_guy Yes
Yes, you're right! when going to take off I think the speed of the plane is very high, and also when going to land the plane's speed is still high enough for a landing procedure.
OMG AMAZING VIEW!
Simply awesome
Wohoho! That takeoff was very fast !
Is there any particular reason for it? :)
I've been waiting for the day that you would post an israeli airline or airport. Now try ELAL and Ben Gurion airport!
Worst airport in the world, i dont feel safe when someone asking 10 times same question. Maybe security there is retarded ??
@@Bajooooo its actually really safe , but yes the security process is very annoying
Ben Gurion is one of the most safest airports out there, and of course security can get a little annoying, but trust me they are no where near the TSA 🙄😂 also ElAl isn't the greatest, but I would like to see that some day
@@Bajooooo Personally i've never had any problems with the security staff nor the security screenings, but this is likely because I'm local. Regardless the security protocol is extremely efficient, and ben gurion is one of my favorite airports (O'hare and SFO are also on the list).
Itay Gerson Lol did you every try business lounge DAN ? The worst for Priority pass, even Bergamo have better one. I understand safety reason, but the is a plenty of better places to travel than Israel when they dont treat everyone as terrorist. And please.. read about Haaretz journalist who put fake bomb in elal planes. So secure
Wow, Nice to see you visiting Israel! Now I recommend you to come to Ben Gurion, Amazing Airport!
hi simply aviation! im very happy you posted this tripreport. little fix: its eilat airport not ramon eilat. very wait to the elal tripreport!
When I watch this video, I have to think about my Trip to Ovda airport :D The real Eilat airport was amazin :) Also the approaches over the city :D In Ovda, it was not wise to film, because after the tent before the building, there was a combined immigration/security/check-in area and I never film security areas :D I can imagine, that there was something similiar in the normal airport xD
OVDA... a real strange airport but with an unexpected cozy waiting lounge on day we left. Just connection from/to Eilat was a bit difficult with public transport
Thank you for visited my home country.
you have no country this is Palestine 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸
@@mustafajouda4411 Shut up!
Nice vid
I did the same journey by bus
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was fast, I may be mistaken but Israeli airlines are very concerned about having their planes shot down so they may have a faster climb out to avoid it. I know generally airlines will climb out steeper than usual not faster but maybe they do it differently
no it is the Embraer 195 that takes off fast always
mariacristina ciampi oh ok I’ve never been on one so I can’t compare the speed here to other Emb 195 takeoffs
Awesome video 👍✈️
Whoa, a trip report at 10:28 pm!!!! Wow
Oh wow, we're in the same time zone right now :)
@@simply_aviation I am in Phoenix, we don't do daylight savings time. Technically, I am in MST, you are in PDT. Lol go figure
Best channel EVER!!!
Thank you for flying an Israeli airline
Guy Rymberg does any of israeli airlines fly to tunisia?
Thank you?
@@anisxx7190 i dont think so.
Guy Rymberg thanks for reply
Experience: tremendous flight!
Favorite video moment(s): the speedy takeoff from Eilat, the stunning mountain views and that scenic Tel-Aviv view during approach
Overall Rating: 9.3/10
Airlines that still need a tripreport:
* EZ Air
* Divi Divi Air
* Winair
Also can you come to Aruba's Airport
Amazing video from israel , also a local man from israel , really nice to saw u try our airline , hope u gonna try Ben Gurion airport!!!
Shalom! :D
COOL
wow that thing took off like a f-15 eagle!
Great video. Eilat Airpot (ELT) has been closed about a month ago and replaced by Ramon Intl Airport (ETM).
I flew with Arkia's former 753 4X-BAW from ETH-TLV back in 2013. The old Eilat airport will be missed, but for an expanding southern city, its location was proving to be a problem. Its second airport Eilat-Ovda, is 60 km to the north; too far from the city. That's why Ramon airport was built, only 18 km north of the city.
I never flew from Sde Dov, but the airport wasn't very far from my aunt's place, so I would see it almost every day driving or bussing down the main road. Was also used by the IDF every now and then.
Hi welcome to Israel! You should try El Al 787
This might get wooshed but oh well
*He actually leaves Israel if you looked close enough so you are wrong.:D*
Finally you fly on an Israeli airline! Great video btw.
I love airplanes ✈️ 💖💜💓💗💞💕💘💝💝💞💗💘💕💜💜💜
Hey Felix. Great video once again. But I didnt receive the notification at 12.30pm CET. was that normal ?
That was because I'm traveling right now (see our Instagram story), and I didn't have good WiFi at the airport to upload the video...
@@simply_aviation oh ok ;) have a good trip :)
And as I dont have instagram (unable to download), can I know, airline, flight and plane plzzz ?
So the aircraft made a sharp turn during approaching before landing?
FYI The airport you visited was unfortunately closed in favor of the new one, at 18/03/19, it was a true landmark of Eilat. :(
God’s country 😎
Cool
Sehr guter Report,
die Lackierung von Arkia ist wirklich schön, im Gegensatz zu dem blau-orange
von früher.
Im militärischen Teil des Airports Eilat sollen angeblich Raketen im Wüstensand eingelassen
sein. Würde man beim Take-Off sehen, sagte mir mein Kumpel mal.
Hast du etwas davon bemerkt?
Man sieht schon gewisse Sachen, was es aber genau ist kann ich nicht sagen und hab ich auch bewusst nicht in den Tripreport inkludiert...
Also Felix can You make Tripreport to Kraków(Cracow in English)?
man this brings me back :((
Nice
Thanks for reviewing my countrys airline!
You should do a trip-report on the new Ethiopian Addis Ababa-Houston inauguration flight in June 2nd I believe. It would be fun because you will be there on the day of the inauguration and you will fly on one of Africa's best airline.
Can You make some more LOT Polish Airlines Tripreports? Or Enter Air?
what camera do you use?
Please check the description of the video!
Good Morning, Felix
I live in Israel omg 😮 omg 😮
Wow
I did not realize that SUN* Israel has 2 airlines (El Al & Arkia). Thanks for letting us know! Looking forward to seeing SUN Israel in the future! (* Start-Up Nation)
There are three airlines:
El Al, Arkia and Israir
Great views from the flight.. how was your visit in Israel ?🇮🇱
Eilat very nice 👍👍👍👍
8:32 epic when you can see where the airplane will land
