Amigos welcome to this trip report on board one of Israel's 3 airlines ( the other being El Al and Israir) , Arkia.
I forgot to mention , we didn't have any delays and we left on time, the crew was friendly but is difficult to review in such a short flight.
Departing from small Sde Dov airport is very practical to those who live in tel Aviv and tourists staying in hotels due to the proximity of this airport.
Little did i know this video would be an historical video since both airports have been closed and ceased operations.

Thank you for watching , the moment i knew the new airport has been inagurated i knew i had to hurry before they close to old one, at least i managed to capture it on camera as a memory of what was before..
Nice video documenting this trip that can never happen again, with both airports now defunct.
I just got lucky i think , i knew Eilat airport was going to close, now friends told that Sde Dov will close as well (or maybe close already). It all has to do will the real estate problem , the land Sde Dov sits on is worth millions. Thanks for watching , Emmanuel.

I always wanted to film a trip like this , when i lived there i used to drive to Eilat but i guess my timing was right , i didn't know they were going to close both airports at the time i booked the flights , just when i was there i was told Eilat will close . Tried to give it my best shot when filming and the colors of the Arkia planes are so colorful and beautiful. Would love to try them again in an international route in one of their new Airbus Neo planes. Take care due to corona it will take a while until a renew flight , until then :-)
Shalom...brings back the memories of 1986, when I just slept as a bagpacker a few weeks on the beach in Eilat very closed to the airport, the arriving planes almost over my had!

Excellent film.. The film brings back many happy memories of landing in Eilat.. I have travelled to Eilat from England 20 times..

The city airport was very convenient.. From landing in Eilat to me arriving at my apartment was sometimes less than 30 minutes.. It will certainly take much longer from the new airport.. Especially when the shuttle bus is stuck in traffic..
@@shaunrutter2533 Oh yes, now it will take much longer , from the old one some people could walk to their hotels.
@@aeromundos There is the beautiful Dan Panorama Hotel just across the street. The hotel is depicted in Eytan Fox's movie "Yossi".

I love their liveries actually , they found a way to have one livery that changes in different colors but remains constant without the need to create a special livery of any kind, nicely done. Thx for watching Istvan.

Hola .Si ,los nuevos colores de Arkia son muy bonitos. A Brasil no vuelan ,talvez algun dia. El avion mas grande que tienen por el momento es el A321LR.
Wow, it is so sad that this airport closed in October 2019. Tel Aviv is huge. This airport reminds me of Santos Dumont airport in Rio de Janeiro, due to its proximity to the ocean:

Yes Pierre, pity that small but useful airport closed , all in the name of real state. Indeed , the similarities are there between the two airports.

Well sadly that is the part of progress or so they say but you and i know they just needed that land to build expensive apartments or something that will bring more money than an airport. No Israeli flag on the plane. Legroom not so good but short flight.
Both of these airports are closed now.. stupid decisions.

I used to live in Israel , many years ago. Yes stupid decision but the real state those airports were on seemed to be more important to build apartments for milions of dollars.
