Reverse is still not dectected when following these directions on the Porsche PCM 3.0 (PDK transmission) as the Mr12volt does not recognize the reverse signal from the canbus. I'm told they are working on it.
The diagram above sends no power to the camera, where's the other end of the green wire? Surely it has to be connected to the red power wire at the camera?
This head unit can provide power. The green wire shown in the video provides power. It shares the wire with the red 12V+, which doesn't need connecting to anything.
Not all aftermarket head units can output power. Cheaper ones only have a input trigger, in which case you'd need to connect red 12v to the reverse light.
Some camera kits have the trigger and power separate for flexibility. With these, you have 3 options.
1.Trigger and 12V+ wired together to get power from head unit (like the above).
2. If your head unit doesn't have output power, it will have input trigger. So trigger wire must be connected to reverse lamp.
Camera power can also be tapped from reverse lamp.
3. Same as 2, but camera power can be sourced from any 12v source (some cars with throw a bulb error if camera power is drawn from reverse light).
Does canbus work to detect reverse on audi a6 c6 with mmi 2g high. I can't get it to work with this config. Am I correct in saying I ignore the red power/ trigger wire and power comes from the Mr 12 volt box?
