This has just saved me hours. In my case my Android 13 head-unit booted straight to reverse camera function on switching on the ignition of my 2013 Corsa VXR. I Removed the orange wire from the can bus box and it worked! Thank you
Means, the unit receives 12v and activates the rear view. Your problem is either your camera does not receives 12v or the settings are incorrect. Try changing between AHD and CVST or TVI.

@@zulazmi23 if you have the subwoofer in the trunk then yes. If not then a normal cable will do the job unless you want to use the steering wheel buttons

I had te same problem with my Davilion Head Unit in our 2012 Mazda CX-5 and altough not original configured for Canbus connection, I ordered a set on E-bay with the cableset and de Canbus convertor. Almost everything, also the central knob works on the screen. The reverse camera wasn't working and with your trick, I got the reverse camera working. Problem was after leaving the reverse gear, that the screen went black and the Android Auto screen didn't came back for a couple of minutes. Then I remembered that I've added a "noise" filter to the rearview camera power wire. The camera trigger-signal dropped to about 5 volts and then slowly dropped further (probably caused by a capacitor in the filter). At some time after leaving reverse gear, the Android screen came back. So I added a 1Watt 180 Ohm resistor on the camera signal line (to ground) and the Android Auto screen comes back within half a second. Problem solved and again, thanks👍👍👍
Very helpful video, I was able to use the info you shared to install a similar unit on a Hyundai Santa Fe, the video was the last part that wasn't working, and now it's all fixed 😁🙏
Thank you for your video! Even though I didn't buy the same unit as yours, I was having the same problem and I was able to get it working using your approach. On my unit the reverse cable was pink.
I know this is super late, but he folded the cable in half and stripped a section to connect so as not to mess up the pin if he wants to restore it at a later date.
if you have an android stereo and it has TWO camera ports .....try BOTH of the ports !!! THIS FINALLY FIXED MY BACKUP !! Also, go to settings, if you have a "PAL" setting set it to that. The RCA red wire (off the yellow RCA) should be connected to the "back" wire of the android...usually that wire is brown or pink, the third wire on the android port. you can also try camera settings, try 720 vs 1080 vs CVBS .
Two questions : on my Junsun V1 Pro I have the reverse camera ' in' yellow connector from the rear of the head unit connected to camera cable but also have a wire coming from that block. Now I connected that to the reverse lamp feed wire and to the 'back' cable (3rd in on main plug). I get camera but only b/w. Do you know where I find the settings adjust menu on the head unit screen (I couldn't find it anywhere but these are new to me)

Thank you for this buddy but I am still trying to figure why mine is not working, I have attached the red wire from the camera to pin 3 I believe is Accessory wire at the back of android unit, at the back of the vehicle I have connected the video cable from the camera to the long cable connection and the connected the ground cable, red wire connected to reverse light. with all these but don’t get video, only trajectory lines. I have canbus and my unit is by T’eyes. Is there anyway you can help with diagnosis. Thank you again.
If you consider you have wired everything as in the instructions provided, then I would firstly make sure the settings are correct. Go to settings and change thru all times of cameras. 720p or 1080p or AHD or CVMP.
Great idea. As it is difficult to find any information on the CAN BUS unit, I question if the reverse signal coming from the CAN BUS box has adequate current output to power the camera and input to the head unit. I'm going to use the CAN BUS box to trigger the head unit and the tail light circuit to power the camera.
Hi Adrian, I have the issue with my Android Head unit. I actually cut off the brown wire from Canbus unit and connected to positive wire from backup light. It looks like you connected the red wire from backup light positive to two brown wire. Obviously one is from the brown wire off of Canbus box, but what is another one from? If you can advise me, that will be greatly appreciate.

I think I have the same radio (just different brand, identical interface). I tried to bypass the canbus but I had no luck: the radio doesn't switch to the reverse mode. I tried both putting 12v or 6v to the pink wire on the back but it doesn't trigger the reverse mode. Do the radio also wants the video signal in at the same time in order to switch to reverse mode? Or are there any radio configuration to setup?
this is my exact problem right now. i just installed the same head unit for my mom's 08 rav 4. everything works great but then, as i was hooking up the back up cam, it just doesnt activate. I am 100% sure that everything is wired up properly, and even tried a new wire and cam thats gonna go to my subie. still does not activate the back up cam when when put into reverse. i even tried switching up all the yellow video plugs, still nothing.
I eventually made it. I noticed that the radio plug is not connected to the car's 3rd pin (which is the 12v reverse gear). Moreover, the factory car's camera works at a different voltage and there are settings to make on the radio. I connected the 3rd pin to the pink cable. Then, I connected a small DC transformer's input to the pink cable and the ground cable, and I connected its output (6v) to the camera. Finally, I activated the back camera in the radio's factory settings
So all you did was disconnect the reverse wire from the canbus? I did the splice on mine as the instructions told me, but back up camera does not come on. The system shows a black screen.

Hi, I bought Junsun V1 6gb recently for Mitsubishi Pajero. It did not came with any Canbus. Some of my function were not working so I had to sent it back. Otherwise I liked the unit. Did your canbus came with original package? or had to buy separate?
I have a 2013 Mitsubishi outlander sport and there was no canbus and searched and searched for answer to camera not coming on when in reverse even the AliExpress seller don’t know why but im getting frustrated and about to send radio back for refund everything else works I actually love this radio but even in the factory menu there’s no camera settings but is canbus settings but none for my vehicle so stuck. I have a similar issue with my Honda and a TS10 headunit, the canbus isnt picking up the reverse. I have a feeling maybe its a manual car. I will be splicing the camera 12v into the reverse light socket and following your method to remove the input to the canbus for reverse 12v.
@@pontusborgjonsson1246 it ended up being the reverse light switch trigger in the manual transmission casing. Swaped it out for a new one and it all works now. I did slice the wires for the camera taking power from reverse light globe. Wonder if I should remove the power source and drive it off the canbus.
@@youknownothing3766 Try it i see alot use the trigger wires also use for the power becuse its a power cable. Also you have canbus so it tells the radio its R time and trigger wires on stereo gets 12 v and that go to the camera because you have the trigger on the power cable.
hi, it looks like you have 2 wires connected to the red wire coming from the reverse light (under the black electrical tape). Are they 2 different wires? If so, one takes 12v into the head unit to trigger the headunit. What does the other one do/go from or to?

I have the same problem with my Suzuki Ertiga car 2018 .I managed to install the reverse camera to RCA rear AUX using pink colour wire as trigger wire but it doesnt go automatic whenever I shift to reverse.What seemed to be the problem? Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
You have to connect the 12V camera line from the head unit to the positive lead on the camera - then the can bus triggering will work. No need to connect through the reversing light.
Hello my friend i think you are the right person to help me with an issue i have because you know i think that some system have 12 v output to the rear camera and dont need connection to the back light in order to trigg the unit.As i mentioned i want to connect a box to switch between rear and front camera but because of the unit either there is not a trigger wire or it is hidden and not labeled because it is not needed to connect the rear camera.How can i find the trigger wire to connect the switching box???
It could be something you need to activate via factory setting, or you have connected it to rear light power which is something that you do with non canbus decoder models... Theres an excellent video ..."How to wire reverse camera if your vehicle has canbus"by AudioVisionUSA - worth a watch.
salut, am si eu o problema asemanatoare la un logan 2016 cu o navigatie de pe aliexpress, tot wiring-ul este facut, am semnal pe firul de reverse pe partea de trigger, dar navigatia tot nu face switch la reverse mode ( din comportamentul navigatiei in momentul in care mut pe marsarier, butonul de home devine inactiv/nefunctional si icon-urile din bara de sus dispar). There is a video where the person cut that brown wire from the canbus connector and used a butt connector to connect the 12v wire to both input and output, sending 12 volts to the canbus unit and the radio. Why did you remove the wire from the canbus connector?

Are you using the factory backup camera? or after market?. If you are using the factory backup camera, can you please make a video of how to re-wire that?

I have installed dual dash camera on android player of Chevrolet cruze. Recording is fine with both the cameras. But when I put on reverse, it shows only blank screen. All the connections done properly.
I have issue with mine too. I have mitsubishi lancer gt which comes with Rockford sound system. After selecting my car model in canbus protocols “Car settings” app appeared in apps which have all audio option which were on my factory headunit. After setting sound equalizer,surround ect..on car setting app it resets automatically doesn’t save settings. All settings on android headunit and its own Equalizer settings are saved and not resetting except canbus “Car settings” app. Can you help me with that?

@@nikostsigaridas9365the brown wire in my ts7 android headunit has the reverse supply 12v. You can use multimeter to check the voltage when reverse is being triggered. I did not use the small red wire on the rca cable.
@@benassy69 I just watched your video. I'm scared it might be caused by another issue in that the camera isn't receiving enough power. I have seen other videos of people installing a 12v relay to the camera wiring to fix the flicker issue. But I might try your ground wire disconnection method first. Thank you

Hi SuoerBrunh, you have the wrong can bus decoder, I have the same problem on a 2014 Mazda 6, replace the canbus box with the rught one and works perfectly fine.

Hello sir, i had the same problem... If you go true ever format on the unit and still doesen't see it, try to masure the continuity in the signal wire... i had a brake some were in the signal +pin on the cable the you put from the head unit to the back... I hope it helps...

Am urmărit filmulețul dvs. Am o unitate asemănătoare dar fără canbus. Am conectat totul conform instrucțiunilor dar totuși nu am niciun feedback de la cameră, nici măcar acel ecran negru cu mesajul "NO SIGNAL". Apreciez f mult dacă îmi puteți da un sfat. Mulțumesc.

Daca inti apare tot "no signal" dupa ce treci prin toate formatele din initate (de regula e "ntcs" sau "pal") si tot nu o vede si ai 12v pe alimentarea camerei, atunci verifica continuitatea cablului de semnal rca... Eu am avut intrerup pinul din mijloc... Am comandat alt cablu de semnal (lam verificat dinainte continuitatea) care a mers de minune... Am avut imagine buna... Sper sa te ajute si o zii cat mai linistita

Be careful, guys. Very Important thing: You can't join "in between" of brown Canbus wire, cause Canbus can be fried of 12v, it operates much lower volts! That's why he cut out a brown wire FROM canbus, making a bypass of it. Direct 12V trigger - maybe will work ok, not sure.
@@Mike__P true, but a friend of mine done this thing on his own ford focus 2 (2008) and then send me a picture of blown fuse and some fried wiring. Just by his luck - he didn't killed a HeadUnit and it still working fine till this day (from 2022).
And 3.25 in isch is the problem if have canbus do not put the red on the tail light. You put it on the other trigger. Tada fix that problem the canbus do rest after and tell stereo in R 👌

Hi, here is what happens on my radio Android 13. Installed on a Suzuki XL There is a yellow wire ,hot all the time. No wire to accesory, so I run a wire from acc wire and run it to a red going to canbus/radio wire Everything work BUT. Radio wont boot. If I remove key, eadio will turn off, when star car, radio will be on on radio app will start, where I shut down the car. If shut down car removing key, same thing, will come on the app the radio was. THEN: NO BACK UP CAMERA NO LOGO BOOT I caN see video from rear camera connected to the csbv connector and feeding camera with 12 volts. Watching videos in YouTuve seems like my radio has some missing setups. Radio Brand is...JAC

@@zsoltmolnar6434 Szia Zsolt! Unfortunately I cannot make a photo because I have already installed the unit and second I don't have a factory camera but a aftermarket one instead. Your problem comes maybe from the Unit itselfe. Have you changed the camera input format from the menu? AHD CVAs TVI etc?
Varianta simpla e din meniul secret unde poți dezactiva camera și activa senzorii. Dacă nu mai vrei imaginea neapărat cu no signal deloc atunci poți tăia firul roz din spatele tabletei.

I don’t see any other setting than AHD, toggled that but it didn’t work neither. Installed in insignia.
Do you have a multimeter? Try and see if you have 12 volts at pin 3 when you put the car in reverse.

Great idea. As it is difficult to find any information on the CAN BUS unit, I question if the reverse signal coming from the CAN BUS box has adequate current output to power the camera and input to the head unit.
I'm going to use the CAN BUS box to trigger the head unit and the tail light circuit to power the camera.
Hi Adrian, I have the issue with my Android Head unit. I actually cut off the brown wire from Canbus unit and connected to positive wire from backup light. It looks like you connected the red wire from backup light positive to two brown wire. Obviously one is from the brown wire off of Canbus box, but what is another one from? If you can advise me, that will be greatly appreciate.
Which colour wires you remove from the can bus box

Hi, with Hyundai Santa fe 2016, I have the same problem, only the different is that I have a original camera and I don't have the rêd wire coming from the back cam.
You get yours working? I am also Santa Fe 2016 and pretty sure this is my issue. Its not triggering the reverse mode.

I have the Junsun v1 pro and I am realy happy with it. A better option would be the T'eyes brand but are more expensive.
I think I have the same radio (just different brand, identical interface). I tried to bypass the canbus but I had no luck: the radio doesn't switch to the reverse mode. I tried both putting 12v or 6v to the pink wire on the back but it doesn't trigger the reverse mode. Do the radio also wants the video signal in at the same time in order to switch to reverse mode? Or are there any radio configuration to setup?
this is my exact problem right now.
i just installed the same head unit for my mom's 08 rav 4.
everything works great but then, as i was hooking up the back up cam, it just doesnt activate.
I am 100% sure that everything is wired up properly, and even tried a new wire and cam thats gonna go to my subie. still does not activate the back up cam when when put into reverse. i even tried switching up all the yellow video plugs, still nothing.
Try 12v to the brown wire not only pink.
I eventually made it. I noticed that the radio plug is not connected to the car's 3rd pin (which is the 12v reverse gear). Moreover, the factory car's camera works at a different voltage and there are settings to make on the radio. I connected the 3rd pin to the pink cable. Then, I connected a small DC transformer's input to the pink cable and the ground cable, and I connected its output (6v) to the camera. Finally, I activated the back camera in the radio's factory settings
So all you did was disconnect the reverse wire from the canbus? I did the splice on mine as the instructions told me, but back up camera does not come on. The system shows a black screen.

The camera wire has the RCA connection and a plus red wire. That one goes from the back to the front and is the only one you need.

Hi, I bought Junsun V1 6gb recently for Mitsubishi Pajero. It did not came with any Canbus. Some of my function were not working so I had to sent it back. Otherwise I liked the unit. Did your canbus came with original package? or had to buy separate?
It depends on the car. In my case the Canbus box came with the unit fitted on the wiring harness.
I have a 2013 Mitsubishi outlander sport and there was no canbus and searched and searched for answer to camera not coming on when in reverse even the AliExpress seller don’t know why but im getting frustrated and about to send radio back for refund everything else works I actually love this radio but even in the factory menu there’s no camera settings but is canbus settings but none for my vehicle so stuck. If anyone can help me please do 🙏🏽
I have a similar issue with my Honda and a TS10 headunit, the canbus isnt picking up the reverse. I have a feeling maybe its a manual car. I will be splicing the camera 12v into the reverse light socket and following your method to remove the input to the canbus for reverse 12v.
And i bet you have the red one back in your taillight. Take that of and just put in whit the lil trigger and will work
@@pontusborgjonsson1246 it ended up being the reverse light switch trigger in the manual transmission casing. Swaped it out for a new one and it all works now. I did slice the wires for the camera taking power from reverse light globe. Wonder if I should remove the power source and drive it off the canbus.

Also you have canbus so it tells the radio its R time and trigger wires on stereo gets 12 v and that go to the camera because you have the trigger on the power cable.
hi, it looks like you have 2 wires connected to the red wire coming from the reverse light (under the black electrical tape). Are they 2 different wires? If so, one takes 12v into the head unit to trigger the headunit. What does the other one do/go from or to?

I have the same problem with my Suzuki Ertiga car 2018 .I managed to install the reverse camera to RCA rear AUX using pink colour wire as trigger wire but it doesnt go automatic whenever I shift to reverse.What seemed to be the problem? Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Which Pink wire? The one from the Main wiring harness or the one next to the yellow RCA?
You have to connect the 12V camera line from the head unit to the positive lead on the camera - then the can bus triggering will work. No need to connect through the reversing light.

It could be something you need to activate via factory setting, or you have connected it to rear light power which is something that you do with non canbus decoder models...

salut, am si eu o problema asemanatoare la un logan 2016 cu o navigatie de pe aliexpress, tot wiring-ul este facut, am semnal pe firul de reverse pe partea de trigger, dar navigatia tot nu face switch la reverse mode ( din comportamentul navigatiei in momentul in care mut pe marsarier, butonul de home devine inactiv/nefunctional si icon-urile din bara de sus dispar). There is a secret menu as well where this option can be changed.
There is a video where the person cut that brown wire from the canbus connector and used a butt connector to connect the 12v wire to both input and output, sending 12 volts to the canbus unit and the radio. Why did you remove the wire from the canbus connector?

Is this using factory reverse camera?
No. Aftermarket camera. But you can use the factory camera with connector adapter.

I have installed dual dash camera on android player of Chevrolet cruze. Recording is fine with both the cameras. But when I put on reverse, it shows only blank screen. All the connections done properly.
Did you connect power from the reverse light to the backup camera and selected in the Radio setting, the correct type of backup camera that you used.
if it blank screen - possibly you haven't connected brown-wire which is a trigger
How did you determine the reverse lights power?
By power you refer to voltage? If yes with a multimetre.
I have issue with mine too. I have mitsubishi lancer gt which comes with Rockford sound system. After selecting my car model in canbus protocols “Car settings” app appeared in apps which have all audio option which were on my factory headunit. After setting sound equalizer,surround ect..on car setting app it resets automatically doesn’t save settings. All settings on android headunit and its own Equalizer settings are saved and not resetting except canbus “Car settings” app. Can you help me with that?

The brown cable("back" sticker on it) conect it to the red cable that comes with the yelow RCA from the camera.thats it.had the same problem.
I have the same headunit as you from china.. It has a canbus and I got the supply for the camera from the radio headunit itself.. i basically condemn the power wire along the rca video cable
So you give 12v to the camera from the unit itself? Not from the back lights? Can you please tell me which cable of the unit have 12v?
@@nikostsigaridas9365the brown wire in my ts7 android headunit has the reverse supply 12v. You can use multimeter to check the voltage when reverse is being triggered. I did not use the small red wire on the rca cable.

I have seen other videos of people installing a 12v relay to the camera wiring to fix the flicker issue. But I might try your ground wire disconnection method first. Thank you

Hi SuoerBrunh, you have the wrong can bus decoder, I have the same problem on a 2014 Mazda 6, replace the canbus box with the rught one and works perfectly fine.

I think your camera is connected correctly. Try changing the type of camera from CVSM to AHD 720 or 1080 from settings menu.

Hello sir, i had the same problem... If you go true ever format on the unit and still doesen't see it, try to masure the continuity in the signal wire... i had a brake some were in the signal +pin on the cable the you put from the head unit to the back... I hope it helps...

Daca inti apare tot "no signal" dupa ce treci prin toate formatele din initate (de regula e "ntcs" sau "pal") si tot nu o vede si ai 12v pe alimentarea camerei, atunci verifica continuitatea cablului de semnal rca... Eu am avut intrerup pinul din mijloc... Am comandat alt cablu de semnal (lam verificat dinainte continuitatea) care a mers de minune... Am avut imagine buna... Sper sa te ajute si o zii cat mai linistita

Be careful, guys. Very Important thing:
You can't join "in between" of brown Canbus wire, cause Canbus can be fried of 12v, it operates much lower volts!
That's why he cut out a brown wire FROM canbus, making a bypass of it.
Direct 12V trigger - maybe will work ok, not sure.
There is a another video on youtube showing exactly this, and apparently everything was fine. So I'm not sure what to do with mine.
@@Mike__P true, but a friend of mine done this thing on his own ford focus 2 (2008) and then send me a picture of blown fuse and some fried wiring. Just by his luck - he didn't killed a HeadUnit and it still working fine till this day (from 2022).
And 3.25 in isch is the problem if have canbus do not put the red on the tail light. You put it on the other trigger. Tada fix that problem the canbus do rest after and tell stereo in R 👌

Hi, here is what happens on my radio Android 13.
Installed on a Suzuki XL
There is a yellow wire ,hot all the time.
No wire to accesory, so I run a wire from acc wire and run it to a red going to canbus/radio wire
Everything work BUT.
Radio wont boot.
If I remove key, eadio will turn off, when star car, radio will be on on radio app will start, where I shut down the car.
If shut down car removing key, same thing, will come on the app the radio was.
THEN: NO BACK UP CAMERA
NO LOGO BOOT
I caN see video from rear camera connected to the csbv connector and feeding camera with 12 volts.
Watching videos in YouTuve seems like my radio has some missing setups.

Your problem comes maybe from the Unit itselfe. Have you changed the camera input format from the menu? AHD CVAs TVI etc?

Varianta simpla e din meniul secret unde poți dezactiva camera și activa senzorii. Dacă nu mai vrei imaginea neapărat cu no signal deloc atunci poți tăia firul roz din spatele tabletei.

Am si eu aceeasi problema ca dvs. am primit camera de marsarier cadou la achizitionarea androidului merge fb dar are alte unghiuri, de aceea as dori sa aflu o metoda de a conecta camera originala la android
