- The C-Note looks like what would happen if Mark LaRue set out to make an QD bayonet mount to compete with the Geissele Super Stabby Mount, but changed his mind at the last second and turned it into some iron sights instead. That's my head canon and I'm sticking to it.
You could probably fashion the C-Note into an expedient aluminum bayonet with a few minutes on a belt sander.

Well, I know that some of the classic Bond movies and novels since FRWL also featured a gun in a suitcase. Iirc Bond's operational suitcase in the Connery films had an AR7 inside.
If only it also had some kind of handle integrated that allowed you to easily carry the rifle

I love the Larue trigger on anything but precision guns.. and with a JP spring set it ain't too bad at that either.
I mean, the value is better, but I don't know many people who shoot both side by side and say they like the Larue better than the Geissele.
@@CharlieMikeNS I’ve seen a lot of people saying that on the forums actually
You can’t, I have several of both. Best value trigger, definitely.
@@JohnMaxGriffin "On the forums"
For every one person on the forums who claims they like the MBT-2S better, there are 4 or 5 who like the Geissele better. Most guys who advocate for the MBT-2S say the same thing "90% of the trigger for 50% of the cost". It's basically a copypasta at this point. I've seen several guys say they only buy MBT-2S triggers, not because it's better, but because it's almost as good for a lot less money.
Triggers are largely preference, but the general consensus is that Geissele triggers are superior, though a far worse value for money. It's also worth noting, I'm talking about SSA or SSA-E tier triggers, not the G2S. Most forum posts where people say the MBT-2S is better are comparing it to the G2S.

Putting bullshit braces on small rifles and all this shit. Who the fuck cares if it’s a sbr why does any of it matter. It’s just another try to gain control over gun owners and make more rules to make people felons. I don’t need some asshole at some government building to tell me how to build a rifle or pistol.

@@84kjk I was banned for exactly that
Man just runs a meme company at this point
This was exactly what I was thinking we needed when the ATF was trying to tell us how to classify AR pistols and there was no iron sights that would work on an AR if holding at pistol length.
When I purchased my T2 from LaRue they also threw in a paint can mixer. Perfect pairing of products!
I also got a paint can mixer. Confused the hell out of me at first! They've also included Dillo Dust, Armadillo bottle openers, big bumper stickers, pocket constitutions. Great outfit and great guy!
Lol, literally using the mixer today
I love when Mark LaRue goes on his rants about his Navion and aviation in general. This would be a great option for an iron sighted pcc/braced pistol for home defense or would work great on a genesis arms gen12.
It seems to me that the best case use of this... art is for someone going through a lot of PCCs/carbines for review, test, whatever, that just requires close range plinking to see if the gun works at all before doing any sort of accuracy/time commitment. No sloppy seconds optic to move around/zero/maybe break, but a set of irons that will reasonably get you there from a Texas madman.
Honestly not a terrible idea. You may have convinced me to buy bc one for function checking my new guns.
Mr LaRue is an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, amidst a shit post on the B board, posing a quandary, whilst printed in a leaflet rolled around his trigger's packaging.
You sound like a mongolian underwater basketweaver.
As somebody who owns a Gisselle’s trigger and a couple of the larue mb2s triggers, I really can’t tell much difference between them and the mb2s triggers I got 2 for the price of the other 1. Plus larue always sends cool stuff in the boxes you get.
Agreed!
Mine came with a copy of the US Constitution. Based.
I thought the Larue was mediocre in comparison personally
I have a G2S, how does Larue compare to that?
@@actionjksn I have the high speed national match trigger and that’s slightly better but cost 300 bucks, to me the larue at 89-99 bucks and sometimes cheaper is probably on par with the SSA trigger so you’d have to move up into at least a 250 dollar trigger to really notice a difference. Honestly for the price ( I’d expect a sale end of this month) the larue trigger is a crazy good deal on a great trigger.

this actually seems like a decent product for just spare sights. Itd be something to throw on new guns until you get an optic for it you plan to keep. Being a solid individual piece means you cant lose half of it and be screwed, and the QD system over screws just means even less parts to worry about.
Entering the ultimate meta meme dimension by changing those panels to "LARRY"
Seems to me that this is designed to be positioned further out on the hand-guard, ie: the distance where you would be holding a pistol away from your face.
That was my assessment as well

Unironically I would love a set of dangerous game style express sights exactly for this sort of purpose, low profile and good enough for close shooting
With sights like these, you kind of want to mount them as far out as you can. Obviously, putting your sights on your handguard isn't awesome... but you'd have better effective accuracy by putting the thing out as far on the handguard as possible. Even though that won't change the effective radius of the sight unit itself, you'd still be getting the benefit of an increased *overall* radius (since your eyes would simply be further away from the unit).

I have mine mounted a little farther back, not on the handguard at all. Its set perfectly for 25 yards zero on mine. Also, out of the box it was hitting right but I flipped the rear sight around and it is now hitting center.
I recommend the LaRue and BCM trigger kits highly.
Under 100$ and some of the best trigger sets I've used. Don't waste 200$ on some Timny or ELF when you can educate yourself and do a full FCG replacement on your gun (or pay a gunsmith like 25$ to do it. One with the right bench jig and block with do it in 15 minutes or less)

Can you test this with the sights at the end of the handguard, like where you'd hold a pistol? Due to the height over bore it would probably move the POI up a bit.

15 years ago, Larue Mounts were one of the few that could be counted on when it mattered. They have really stood the test of time, because although there are better options, they are still a great option today. Also, their Stealth uppers were excellent. They were extremely accurate and came with the best quad rail of its day. I still have a 16" and 18" with the 13.2 quad rails that was purchased in 08.
That being said Larue has really taken a back seat and have not stayed on top of the wave of change. Their trigger is excellent, especially for the price. To call it better than a Geissele is subjective and an opinion. I disagree with that opinion and thats okay. There is nothing wrong with agreeing to disagree.
Geissele triggers are superior to the Larue if price is taken out of the equation. On the other hand, if you are on a budget, the Larue cant be beat for a two stage trigger.
As far as the C-Note? Well Ill just say its as wrong as two men taking a bubble bath and proves how far behind the power curve Larue is. Its right in line with the leather handle they make that attaches to your scope and acts as a carry handle.
